“Went today after site seeing and hiking around Flatrock and came across this truck selling fish and chips (along with a few other meals).
Definitely worth the stop!
Crispy well-seasoned battered cod (skin still on so you know it isn't just frozen Costco cod!) The French fries/chips you can tell are local grown potatoes. You can taste the hardy minerals in the potatoe itself. (Would recommend they did a double fry on the potatoes next time cause they didn't seem to be crispy fries) But; the fish, by far was the catch of the meal for sure ?
Friendly customer service. They bring it right to your car after you order, or you can sit down to one of their picnic tables and enjoy hot and fresh.

Parking: It's more like a driveway than a parking lot. Have to be weary of parking when they get busy cause there isn't really "parking lots" so you could get stuck with someone parking behind.”

“We stayed for 3 nights for our daughter's wedding. Our room was first class with w.c., large bath and large walk-in shower. It was quiet, facing the rear of the building. The front pedestrian way can be a bit noisy with revellers. Spotlessly clean, with aircon and fridge. The restaurant offered a varied evening menu, and the cuisine was superb. Likewise, a good choice for breakfast, and large portions. I had the 2 egg breakfast, and the eggs were cooked precisely to my instructions. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. This was my second visit, and I look forward to my third.”

I have so much to say… and all good. We were blown away! St. John’s certainly needed you. We had the fish and chips and we rolled out of there. The portion size was like no other and so fresh and flaky. Like it was just caught from the ocean. The place was so clean and nicely decorated. Our server Mike was a pro. He knew his job and made you feel as though you mattered. Even the owner Terry- Lynn came over to greet us. They are doing well there and I can see why. Everything was great…not a single thing to complain about. Oh and the music…yes…turn it up…it certainly brought us back in time. Thank-you for everything!!!”

“As a bonafide cocktail maker/drinker/lover the classic lime daiquiri was excellent and the ‘ooh na na’ from their list was a tropical delight. Absolutely proper cocktails and the service was great. The vibe is laid back and cool and sexy and they even chilled our Fernet shots!”

“**5 Stars - A Hidden Gem!**

I had the pleasure of trying the breakfast fish cakes with over-easy eggs, fried potatoes with bacon and onions, and toast—and wow, I am absolutely blown away. The restaurant was surprisingly empty, which made no sense considering how fantastic the food was. This was hands-down the best breakfast I’ve had in the downtown core.

The fried potatoes were the star of the show. I know it’s a simple dish, but they were absolutely perfect—crispy on the outside, tender and fully cooked on the inside. I couldn’t stop eating them! The fish cakes were delicious as well, and the over-easy eggs were cooked to perfection.

Now, the toast… I don’t know what kind of magic is happening back in the kitchen, but it was something special. The toast was like the gold at the end of my breakfast rainbow. Honestly, it was so good, I’m convinced there must be a leprechaun working their toast-making magic in the back!

This place is a hidden gem, and I’ll definitely be back. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and stop by—you won’t be disappointed!”
