26 Best Japanese Restaurants near Bedford

“This is one of the best experiences I've had on my 5 day trip out in the greater Halifax area. The food was refreshing and tasty, and the atmosphere was absolutely lovely. Best of all, the service was fabulous and the staff were super kind and attentive. Find the time to fit this in your schedule because it was an absolute gem of a spot. Best of luck to you folks!“

“Wow, what an amazing surprise. Best take out (fresh made to order) Sushi I have had in awhile. The Edamame and the Spicy Tuna rolls - perfection! Run, don't walk!“

“Went here Friday evening with a couple friends and the omakase board was honestly some of the best sushi I've had outside of a big city. The uni was silky and clearly fresh, not a hint of that ammonia taste you sometimes get elsewhere. Our server was super knowledgeable about the sake list and walked us through pairings without being pushy about it. The place has a nice low key vibe with dim lighting that made it perfect for catching up over a long dinner.“

“Have eaten here several times! The food is always excellent! Delicious, large portions! Great prices! And amazing friendly staff! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️“

“Great food, atmosphere, experience, and service! Very clean. The dry ice is a nice added touch. They were able to make a milder spicy miso soup upon request 🙏🏻🥣🍣“

“I was walking by from Public Garden and discovered this place. I tried mango matcha late. I am so happy to experience the authentic taste of it. As the same item purchased from franchise companies look completely different. I recommend this place.“

“10/10 tastes fresh and is made very quickly could not recommend more. Best place to satisfy that sushi craving.“

“The very best around. We love Shige and Aya.“

“We tried Chicking tonight after hearing others rave about it, we were not disappointed! The chicken was AMAZING and the king sauce super delicious! We will absolutely be back!“

“Came here with my friend to celebrate before I flew abroad and we had such a fun night! The food was fresh, came out fast, and everything we ordered was so good!! Our server was super friendly and attentive i think his name was jayjay or smth, the whole staff made the experience even better! Also… whoever had the guys working behind the bar that night knew exactly what they were doing because they were FINEEE 😍😍😍 10/10 experience. Definitely coming back whenever I’m back in Halifax!“

“Grabbed a table with a few friends last Friday night and the sushi platter came out so fresh it honestly felt like a treat after a long week. The staff kept checking in without being pushy, which made the whole vibe feel relaxed rather than rushed. We also tried the miso black cod and it fell apart perfectly, easily the best bite of the night. Parking around that block was easier than expected for a Friday, so we didn't stress about being late for our reservation.“

“Absolutely delicious sushi, our new “go to” sushi restaurant whenever we come into the city! Very accommodating with regard to peanut/sesame allergy and gf options. Generous portions, fresh, tasty maki, outstanding rolls, friendly service, cosy atmosphere. We found very reasonable underground parking close by which is great.“

“We had a good lunch today at Sushi Nami In Dartmouth. Our server was very sweet, service was prompt and my sashimi, nigiri, maki platter was very good! My man’s beef udon noodle soup was also good!

My problem, and I know it sounds trivial, is with the washroom. It’s just not befitting a Japanese restaurant. I’ve been in much better gas station bathrooms…this one had a cracked sink with rust stains, the metal wall-unit for garbage looked filthy, chipped paint all over. Normally, Japanese restaurant bathrooms are elegant and clean. It’s jarring to walk from a nicely decorated restaurant into such a crappy bathroom.

This is why you’ve lost one star.“

“Just had an early dinner with a friend here, and it was AMAZING! My first time eating fresh sushi in a restaurant (only previous experience was eating California rolls from a supermarket), and it was a thoroughly pleasurable meal. Fast/friendly service, delicious food…they even included an extra platter of sushi on the house! Highly recommend!!“

“Good price and good tastes. I liked all dishes that I choosed. Staff are very kind and nice.“
