“I've been loving cafe taiakiy since they first opened and I'm overjoyed there still thriving. and absolutely delicious and unique treat in downtown halifax and in i will always reccomend them to anyone looking for a nice expirence and sit down. extra points of course for dietary options for both vegan and gluten free batter, keep on rocking yall!!“

“I drop by this wee bakery cafe every time I go to the warehouse market - it's my sweet treat for loading up on veggies. Sometimes I have to wait cause they're often super busy, but it's ALWAYS worth it! Friendly staff remember my fave drink order (strawberry yuzu lemonade!!), and the fact that I always buy a madeleine for my mom :). A thoughtful, kind crew that produces the best in-house baked goods in Halifax! Esp love the almond and cinnamon rolls, basque cheesecake, and Mum's madeleine (ANY flavour). Give them some LOVE!“

“We had the pleasure of eating at Bird’s Nest today, Chicken Club Sandwiches (and we have our usual cup of coffee everyday there too) The food is outstanding, based on fresh seasonal ingredients clearly put together by a chef that has a true passion for food! The service was fantastic as always, and their staff is so friendly, and they know our usual orders by now. “Visiting from Vancouver and was intrigued by the Mexiexpresso. Cute shop, felt very cozy. The Mexiexpresso was delicious!! Highly recommend. The owner was also super kind and gave us great recommendations for things to do and places to see during our stay here!“

“Three guests in our party. Ate lunch there enjoying the Broccoli and Cheese Quiches with coffees and a hot chocolate. Quiches were very light, flavourful and incredibly filling. As we were celebrating a birthday, a dessert was selected by each of us: a chocolate cheesecake square, a peanut butter square with chocolate layer on top and an apple dessert as big as your head made with puff pastry and sweet apple filling. Verdict? Delicious!“

“Ample space to stay and work/study. Nice playlist. The counter staff was unwelcoming which was surprising. The barista was friendly. Menu seems varied I can’t comment as I only had a flat white. I had requested extra hot and it came lukewarm and not full. I’m not appreciating the mandatory minimum 15% tip option.“

“One of the best hidden gems in Halifax. They pour espresso stronger than most coffee shops in the city and have extremely friendly baristas. Also great supply of tasty protein bars, cold coffee drinks and electrolytes. Worth the short side street walk off Agricola.“

“I recently moved back into the area and was hoping to have brunch here every weekend. I had the Madurito breakfast which was a wonderful treat. The flavours were exotic and well balanced and I left quite satisfied. The breakfast came to $30.00 including tip. After searching online, I found this was almost double the price of any breakfast in Halifax. Wonderful food, but keep in mind you are paying for inflated food costs and for specialty ingredients. Not affordable on my budget, unfortunately.“

“Tony is the nicest man you'd ever meet. As someone who has worked in this mall for a decade, I know that I will always get a warm experience. My favorite item is their breakfast pita, which has scrambled egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and can add cheese. It's perfect for an easy breakfast that will hold you over til lunch. Sometimes I grab an afternoon snack here, which may be a Nanaimo bar, peanut butter cookie, etc. I haven't tried their pizza slices yet, but heard they are decent! Please support this lovely family if you can. (FYI I am not family or friends, trying to push reviews).“

“Very clean, tables spaced apart enough so you can hear your companion speaking, lovely decor elegant even. The pistachio croissant was incredible (the dollop of cream with pistachios is a delicious touch to a croissant with layers surrounding a pistachio centre- you need to try it sorry forgot photos!) Wild berry macaron was.. okay the only time I think sublime will qualify as a description! Paired with drip coffee or cafe au lait - heaven! The Bastille and Croque Monsieur sandwiches that we split were excellent! So good we got croissants and macarons for takeaway after!“

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the creamy oat milk lattes and colourful lemonades and we found ourselves retuning to the Cafe every day of our vacation. We had the opportunity to meet Lara, the owner, and it was immediately clear why this Cafe is so tastefully decorated, why the atmosphere is so enjoyable and the menu so very delectable. They were nice, it’s close to what croissants taste in France, although it’s very difficult to replicate them. “My friend's and I recently had lunch at La Piazza. The food was absolutely delicious, the service exemplary and the atmosphere is very cozy. The cheesecake is delicious but a tad over priced, as were all the deserts, in my opinion. All in all, a very nice experience and we will definitely be going back for our monthly Ladies Lunch.“
