“Visit Friday December 5, 2025. Mobility impaired persons should be aware of stairs. Dinning Room located on main floor and pub located downstairs. Great authentic vibes, great menu selection of beverages and dishes. Food ordered was great, and suggested beer by staff was spot on. Would recommend. Bit of a cold draft downstairs despite the lovely fireplace.“

“Stopped in with hubby and the doggies for lunch. Was thrilled we could have the dogs with us at the table on the patio and that there were water bowls provided. Service was a little slow and unfortunately our order got lost and it took a while to get our food. Kitchen tried to rush the meal to make up for the delay and our spinach dip was still cold in the middle. Overall the food was good and I would return to try the food again.“

“A little disappointed in this place. There’s a guy across the street cursing out people while we ate outside. The staff asked me not to call the Police and are not willing to do anything. I posted a pic of the guy that will ruin your outdoor experience at this place.“

“Honestly, I love the brown hound. I don’t think I’ve had one bad experience. Although, the last time I was in, I ordered my usual (bangers and mash), and the sausage came out sliced and diced all up the side. I don’t know why, but the appearance made me nauseous. It looked aquatic — almost octopus like? Think: a cooked spider-dog over a campfire. It was an experience I wasn’t prepared for. Please go back to plain bangers, please! It was genuinely a nightmare. To hide my embarrassment, I brought the sausage home for my dog. Maybe it’s a me problem but my mum said it was also very unappetizing. Love you still!“

“Was in Halifax last night for a concert . I am at the airport about to fly back home this morning . I didn’t know anyone in Halifax , I just came here to see my favourite band , and I just happened upon the Loose Cannon and wandered in before the show . Matt the bartender , I think his friends who were at the bar called him Chissy , was amazing . Great guy. He made my night before the show , as I was all alone. He introduced me to some regulars who were going to the show at the bar , who were awesome people. I was chatting with them about music for about an hour pre show . He was the reason I came back after, this time with some ppl I had met there at the concert . I have never felt compelled to leave a review about a place before , but I felt like this guy deserved the kudos . He was really busy when we came back, but was still incredibly nice and hospitable to us . I will be back for sure on my next visit .“

“If you're heading to a concert at Scotiabank Arena, you can't ask for a better location.

Despite how busy this place is, service is excellent. They have separate servers for drinks and food - I think this plays a big part in how quickly they can serve.

The food was excellent. Classic pub fare. I opted for the club, and the wife had chicken tenders. Both were great.“

“I could not be more thankful for the staff at the lower deck. While shooting an event, my bag was stolen and not only did the event coordinator help me sort things out on the camera, but Mike the bouncer actually FOUND my backpack AND all of my gear (minus bank cards) in a nearby lot!! I could not be more grateful for the AMAZING staff who not only kept me calm, but no joke, FOUND ALL OF MY GEAR AND SAVED THE DAY!!! Mike, Steph, and Laura seriously deserve an award for how above and beyond they went last night. 10/10, thank you does not say enough“

“The Lion’s Head is one of my go-to spots in the North End when I want a chill, friendly vibe. The rooftop patio is the real star — perfect for soaking up the sun.

Service is always quick and friendly, even when it’s busy, and having lots of free parking nearby makes it an easy choice. It’s also a great spot for larger groups — plenty of space and a lively atmosphere without feeling cramped.

Food-wise, it’s mostly solid with the occasional standout. The sweet potato fries, burger, salad, mac and cheese, and a chicken wrap with soup I tried once as a feature were all great. The wings were just okay — not bad, but not a must-order for me.

All in all, a fun neighborhood pub with a killer patio, reliable food, and staff who make you feel welcome.“

“Great local watering hole. A nice mix of neighborhood folks frequent this 'every(wo)man's' spot. Beer is (comparitively) cheap, and the bartenders are rad.“

“Came tor Trivia night and ordered quesidila. Little pricey for food but I guess fairly standard these days, but the drinks were reasonably priced. Iverall decent experience. Typical pub fair and vibe for the most part. Service was decent, food came out quite fast“

“This is our local taproom. I just love this place. Great bunch of people...staff and patrons. A great place to relax and enjoy some good conversation. The beer is the best in Halifax if you're into craft beer. Always a great selection and the beers rotate frequently so you never get tired of drinking the same thing....unless of course you want to. They have some specialty snacks to enjoy with your favorites beer too. They do not serve food, but you're welcome to bring in whatever your heart desires, in to eat. Jesse's Pizza and CHKN CHOP are just steps away.A couple of my favorite beers are 12 Years to Zion, DOA and Flat Black Jesus. I'm sure you'll have your own favorites.“

“Love oasis. Always will. However, can I suggest that at karaoke you limit the amount of songs a person can sign up to sing? Last night there was a few girls who kept signing up repeatedly and singing over and over again and there wasn’t enough time for the rest of us to sing :)“

“The pizza was absolutely delicious, perhaps the best I’ve had. Crust was perfectly cooked, toppings were generous yet not overpowering. I ordered the 9” personal and probably could have done with just 3 of 4 slices but forced the last one down … was too good to leave.

Service was A++. Alex welcomed us right away, was quick to take our order and took the time to chat for a moment before we left. Such a breath of fresh air in this world where everyone seems to be too busy to even say hello. An asset to the restaurant! We will definitely be grabbing pizza here again next time we visit Halifax.“

“Group of work crew got together for a meal and then a Moose game on February 29th and not only enjoyed the food, the layout of the restaurant, but the waiter (Brandon) was amazing and made the whole experience of our first visit the best experience and we'll definitely return.“
