Service was a little slow and unfortunately our order got lost and it took a while to get our food. Kitchen tried to rush the meal to make up for the delay and our spinach dip was still cold in the middle. Overall the food was good and I would return to try the food again.“

“Loved the atmosphere in this pub! It reminded me of home (Newfoundland). I ordered the grilled chicken guacamole sandwich. It was delicious! Very juicy and flavourful. I also ordered two 20oz Blue Moon during happy hour. The price was fantastic for the food and beer!“

“Old school sports bar. Even though it moved a few blocks years ago, it's a staple of downtown, especially before Mooseheads games. Was there last week, and it had been some time since the time before. Both times I ordered the hot hamburger sandwich with peas and fries, gravy on the side.

The quality was still there, the portion size was generous, and the price was not up in the nosebleed section.

They could have a couple more craft beer options, but I guess most people going to events just love their Coors/Budwieser/Keith's/Molson, or other generic beers.

Still, food was good, price was right, we think, because after we paid, a server visited us across the street at Roxy's saying we still had a tab. Just a little confusion, but it all got worked out.“

“The food and service were good. We were disappointed by the lack of local offerings for drinks. Halifax and Nova Scotia has an incredible microbrewery and cider culture. We would have been more willing to stay and drink had we had the option of local beer, cider, and spirits. This could have leaned into the history of the space more. If there are local who want the “regular” Canadian/American options, they could be available at the bar in the back.

“I could not be more thankful for the staff at the lower deck. While shooting an event, my bag was stolen and not only did the event coordinator help me sort things out on the camera, but Mike the bouncer actually FOUND my backpack AND all of my gear (minus bank cards) in a nearby lot!! I could not be more grateful for the AMAZING staff who not only kept me calm, but no joke, FOUND ALL OF MY GEAR AND SAVED THE DAY!!! Mike, Steph, and Laura seriously deserve an award for how above and beyond they went last night. 10/10, thank you does not say enough“

“Come here if you are looking for a zero judgment kind of night. I almost only go on Thursday for karaoke but occasionally in the evening for a game of pool with friends. The people who sing karaoke range greatly from really good to really bad but it is all about the spirit. The food is not what I write home about also the beer on tap has not been very good in the past. Now I just buy bottled beer here and I am happy. It can get pretty packed on Thursday night when the students are in town but this is fun because they are still a good crowd and also love singing and dancing along with karaoke. As someone else said this is a Prime dive bar and I wouldn’t come with expectations other than to expect they serve beer and a great time relies on your attitude when you walk down the stairs.“

“Great local watering hole. A nice mix of neighborhood folks frequent this 'every(wo)man's' spot. Beer is (comparitively) cheap, and the bartenders are rad.“

“We had the fish cakes with cesar salad, and bangers and mashed (so good we shared), delicious and the presentations were amazing. Price was affordable. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Live music was very relaxing and entertaining. A young lady named Kayla Mason was singing and playing acoustic guitar. Beautiful voice.

“This is our local taproom. I just love this place. Great bunch of people...staff and patrons. A great place to relax and enjoy some good conversation. The beer is the best in Halifax if you're into craft beer. Always a great selection and the beers rotate frequently so you never get tired of drinking the same thing....unless of course you want to. They have some specialty snacks to enjoy with your favorites beer too. They do not serve food, but you're welcome to bring in whatever your heart desires, in to eat. Jesse's Pizza and CHKN CHOP are just steps away.A couple of my favorite beers are 12 Years to Zion, DOA and Flat Black Jesus. I'm sure you'll have your own favorites.“

“Was told to order from Downtown pizza downtownn Halifax, told us pizza would be 35-45 min, called us 35 min later to say 1.5 hour delivery, had surgery not ate in 14 hours. They did us a favour called FREEMANS, Excellent pizza, so happy the other place gave us a run around. I then recognized the name and remembered we ate in this restaurant last year ordering lasagna and pizza in restaurant and best Italian I had in long time, Cannot say enough good things“

“Food was okay, service was okay, we were outside, which was okay, 2 of the 4 plastic chairs were covered in bird poo so some rearranging was required before we sat. Our waitress was very nice but pretty scarce. The Oysters Rockefeller was very dry and just meh tasting. The fish and chips was okay. If you don't like real greasy battered fish you might prefer this. It was more like the corn batter on a corn dog. The fish itself was not bad and the fries were good. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place to anyone so it has maybe moved away from the eatery it used to be?“

“Group of work crew got together for a meal and then a Moose game on February 29th and not only enjoyed the food, the layout of the restaurant, but the waiter (Brandon) was amazing and made the whole experience of our first visit the best experience and we'll definitely return.“
