“North is one of our favorite local spots. They host fun events (the drag shows are wild and I love to see that type of support in our community). We love the atmosphere, food is great, staff is always lovely and the beer is always good - in fact, their sours are beyond the best around and I really hope they start brewing them again. I was definitely a bit disappointed that they haven't offered one recently so.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back your sours! I also think their merchandise offered is more stylish then a lot of other similar places. It has a unique surf/beachy vibe that I hope they continue. What's even better is that they offer a 15% discount you can use on merch, if you show your receipt after dining in their taproom! Keep up the great work!”

“I’ve been going to TBR for years now, and it’s the definition of a true local haunt—packed with regulars and soon-to-be regulars every week. I first showed up for Friday night karaoke, just looking for something fun with a few neighbors, and ended up finding a place to hang my hat.

No frills, no pretension—just a classic community bar. Everyone knows everyone, and if you don’t, give it a night—you will. The room’s full of characters from all walks of life, like a barroom sitcom where somehow it all works. There’s a seat for anyone who walks in.

Karaoke is what they’re known for, and for good reason. Donna’s been running the show for nearly two decades and she is the party. The food’s consistently solid, the prices are more than fair, and the staff know exactly what they’re doing.

Do yourself a favor—go once. You’ll walk out wondering how it didn’t become “your bar” sooner.”

“Great staff! Clean dining room and open 24/7… but they don’t have a pop dispenser for customers to serve themselves ! Not cool for so many reasons. I’m diabetic and need to ensure I didn’t received regular cola. I bring my own cup to refill saving them $$ for lids, cups and straws - not to mention the environment. The markup on pop is extravagant and they don’t offer refills.”

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

“Drove up from New Brunswick a couple weeks ago and a friend insisted we try The Ostrich Club for dinner, and honestly I'm so glad we listened. The duck confit was perfectly cooked, rich and tender in a way that had us scraping the plate clean. “I hired Tareks for catering on this week and OH MY GOODNESS! Fantastic as always; Incredibly fresh, flavourful and so easy! I told him how many people and he gave suggestions and was the least stressful catering order I have ever placed. It arrived hot and fresh and perfectly on time. So much food we all had a second plate and still had leftovers at the end. Highly recommend Tareks for any time lunches, dinners or catering. Has to be one of the best in the city, not one complaint from my group of 15 people! He even called afterwards to check in that everything was received - absolutely amazing service! “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !! The Prospect Road location is going to be such a well loved location - so much so that, I don’t think the staff realized how much of the community would flock there. They’re BUSY, and out of ingredients, but the staff there were HUSTLING around, smiling and getting orders out that they could. I expect delays at the beginning. They never expected so much traffic, give them patience folks and expect a mess up in your order possibly or wait until they are fully loaded and in the flow with the area. Otherwise incredible sub (despite picking off a couple things I didn’t ask for), the bread was amazing, still 10/10 would go back, and didn’t even care it was chaotic. Inside though although small, its essentially a novelty convenience store with local goodies. They have a little bakery section with homemade stuff, the moon mist fudge was incredible and a must try! They also had a bunch of “Jones Soda” flavours that I’ve never seen before anywhere around here - even at the big candy stores, (like s’mores and the fallout edition one) which was pretty cool!! They still have ice cream and everything that was at multi scoop - just with a lot more options and delicious fresh options to go. Something for ANYONE at a really reasonable price. “As someone who travels for work and has celiac disease I am always on the lookout for a new spot with lots of different options that are gluten free. I was absolutely tickled to find easy street diner in Halifax today while down in Nova Scotia for work. they had the most extensive gluten free menu I've ever seen. They had delicious gluten free onion rings, crispy, light, just the right amount of seasoning. they were divine. They also even had things like chicken and waffles that were gluten free!! 😲😲😲 needless to say anytime I'm working in Halifax again, I will be trying more delicious food in this cute, trendy, a la 60s Jetsons-cartoon-style diner!”

“We decided to try the new location in Halifax to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoyed the Red Pepper Puree served with fresh warm pita bread followed by a Turkish salad, then Seafood Kebab with rice. They accommodated no onions in the salad. The portions were generous and everything was delicious. We received a complimentary dessert to share with Turkish tea, a light airy Strawberry & White Chocolate Cake. A totally unexpected end to a perfect meal. The owner gave us excellent friendly service throughout. We’ll be back.”
