“Ordered food delivered for five people this evening. Selections were cold, sesame noodles, shrimp, eggroll, eggplant, garlic sauce, sesame, tofu, vegetable mushu, shrimp, chow mein, and vegetable fried rice. Everything arrived hot and I think they are now my favorite take out Chinese in the area. Normally eggplant and garlic sauce is dripping with oil. This was not. Ditto for the tofu. There are slight extra charges for things such as putting egg in the vegetable fried rice, but it is made the way we asked it to be made, and the delivery was quick and accurate. much better than using an online ordering app. I think the restaurant makes it better with direct ordering and we did too. This will be our go to rather than the two or three others in the immediate area.“

The ladies who are usually at the counter are always super friendly and always greet us with a smile! My son refuses to eat Chinese food anywhere but here and is always his 1st choice!“

“The Amazing Wok has been a go-to for me for 30+ years, including the four years I lived above the place in the early 90s when I ate from there many nights of the week. The food is always dependable, the service is quick and friendly, the veggies are always fresh, the sauces are great, and my kids tell me the dumplings are as good or better than anywhere. I’m a vegetarian and their bean curd homestyle is best I’ve found, and that’s the dish I order everywhere I go (I wish they’d give me the recipe). Not fancy, but totally solid and recommended.“

“Fast delivery, especially for a Saturday. Lunch specials are generous. To the people who say the tariffs made their price to high, new no 1 has lower prices than many others in the area.
The fried rice was great in my lunchtime order, definitely not dry.
I won't name names, but I see reviews that have 1 star on atmosphere, appeared to have been delivery. Maybe you meant your own space (where you consumed the food) has a terrible atmosphere?

I also won't name my regular Chinese restaurant's name either, it is safe to say that I now have switched to new. No 1

“The food was good. The guy behind the counter was very vegetarian friendly. He asked if I was vegan or vegetarian. I had tofu string beans and mixed vegetables.

Vegetarian options: This is a place where you pick 3-4 items and they put it in a box for you. Several vegetarian choices. Several starches and several vegetables to choose from. Guy even asked if I was vegetarian or vegan to help me choose.“

“It's takeout Chinese, nothing fancy, but the egg rolls are always crispy and I am impressed that they seem to use fresh vegetables in their dishes. I got the cashew shrimp recently and it was loaded with fresh chopped zucchini and carrots, versus other places where it's just a handful of celery and pre-frozen diced carrots.“

“I decided to Do a YouTube review for this place. Over the years I’ve been told it’s the worse reviewed Chinese spot in Albany. And decided to see for myself. The restaurant itself did not seem dirty. Besides the door and the outside of the garbage. But the floors and tables as well as the back of the house was pretty clean. Rating their cleanliness out of a 5 I give them a 4. I kept it simple by ordering shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. Because how could you mess something so simple up. The food came out within 5-6 min of me ordering. It was piping hot and fresh. I gave the food an overall 10 out of 10. However my daughter gave them at 7 out of 10 because she didn’t think the rice had that much flavor. But she really enjoy the egg roll. I thought the egg roll was pretty big compared to your average egg roll. And noticed they weren’t skimpy on the shrimp. A lot of Chinese joints only put two shrimps per egg roll ours had 4 each. Wasn’t greasy. Nice and crispy. And over all delicious. The server didn’t had us our bag. Seemed a little bit not to friendly. She sat our bag on the other table. And insisted we got it from the other table. Instead of her handing it directly to us. Could also be she is social distancing. But because the food was hot and fresh. And delicious. I can’t complain. If they give that door and trash can a good wipe down. I’d give them 5 stars easily. But because the door and garbage can we’re not to clean, I give them a solid 4 stars.“

“I have been in Albany for 12yrs and I claim two of the best Chinese restaurants which one is in Watervliet (freaking delicious). After 12yrs I have added Lam’s Kitchen as my third Chinese spot of good eats!
Being a New York City Native it is extremely difficult to find wonderful authentic tasting food so take my word for it when I say this place hits good for a decent price.“

“Went to see a concert last night at MVP arena. As one would imagine, every eating establishment was overbooked. We found Capitol House Chinese and settled in. They were overwhelmed with orders, but handled it well. The egg foo young was quite good, my Hunan beef was as well. The bottom line, the food was better than average, they handled the crowds (15/20 minutes to prepare our dinners) and we were off to see Springsteen with plenty of time. A suggestion, if you are heading there, order ahead if you can, will save time.“
