“Went here for lunch with good friends who come here often it was every thing they said it would be and more the food was excellent. The service was great even though they were very crowded at lunch. We did not feel rushed at all in fact we were there for over two hours. I will definitely return When back in the area.“

“Quintessential Chinese takeout. Enjoyed all that we got: orange chicken, general Tsos, fry donuts, and veggie lo mein. The lo mein was a bit on the smokey side. If you're in the mood for this type of Chinese food, this fits the bill perfectly and at a good price.“

“Compared to all the other Chinese around Latham that are not great at all golden house was the best BY far we ever had ! I am glad we stumbled upon them ! Everything was flavorful the crab ragoon was actually stuffed with more than a 1/2 teaspoon of filling ! The sesame chicken was not overcooked and the Mongolian beef was very flavorful , yes a lot of onions but I like it that way ! For the price it for sure was amazing rather than spending 100 on yangs( love their sushi) or anywhere around for mid/ overcooked no flavor . I would order again for sure ! And the house “cow mein” delish! The delivery driver so nice and fast !“

“We love this restaurant very much. Me and my husband eat here all the time, and can never get enough of the eggrolls, fried rice, General Tso chicken and sesame seed chicken. We especially love the little Chinese girl that takes orders, she is so nice and deservers all the tips in the world. “We just moved to the area and have tried many different Asian cuisines. Tai pan was the best priced and the quality of the sesame chicken outshined all the other restaurants near by. The mei fun was super good too. The crab wontons were super fresh and not heavy in fried wrapper. The balance was perfect. One complaint was not enough white rice but that’s an easy fix for next time and didn’t take away from the experience. My husband got the red curry with no to lite spice and they made it just right. We did take away and plan for this to be our go to spot going forward.

They have authentic Chinese food on their menu along with American style. My husband ordered authentic and I had Hibachi.. no complaints.. flavors, presentation, portion sizes, service, all great! “Really glad to have Empire Wok so close to home here in Delmar. I'm in Glenmont but it's only 5 minutes away. The food is delicious and the service was very friendly to me and my girl. We ordered BBQ spare ribs with pork fried rice and chicken wings with pork fried rice (no veggies). Both were fresh, tasty, and hit the spot. I used to order Chinese food a lot in the Bronx, so it’s great to finally have a place nearby that’s just as good. Definitely recommend!“

Selections were cold, sesame noodles, shrimp, eggroll, eggplant, garlic sauce, sesame, tofu, vegetable mushu, shrimp, chow mein, and vegetable fried rice. Everything arrived hot and I think they are now my favorite take out Chinese in the area. Normally eggplant and garlic sauce is dripping with oil. This was not. Ditto for the tofu. There are slight extra charges for things such as putting egg in the vegetable fried rice, but it is made the way we asked it to be made, and the delivery was quick and accurate. much better than using an online ordering app. I think the restaurant makes it better with direct ordering and we did too. This will be our go to rather than the two or three others in the immediate area.“

“I ordered chicken lo mein, crab Rangoon while my friend had the beef and broccoli with white rice. OMG the crab Rangoon was nice and crunchy and not too thick like other restaurants. The Lo mein was hot hot and so delicious. lol I wasn’t able to take a picture of the beef and broccoli as everything was gone so fast(they inhaled it). Very delicious, I was super surprised at how fast the food came and how well packaged it was. They give you this cute little insulated bag and the silverware was also packaged separately and the packed it so well. “Fast delivery, especially for a Saturday. Lunch specials are generous. To the people who say the tariffs made their price to high, new no 1 has lower prices than many others in the area.
The fried rice was great in my lunchtime order, definitely not dry.
I won't name names, but I see reviews that have 1 star on atmosphere, appeared to have been delivery. Maybe you meant your own space (where you consumed the food) has a terrible atmosphere?

I also won't name my regular Chinese restaurant's name either, it is safe to say that I now have switched to new. No 1

“It's takeout Chinese, nothing fancy, but the egg rolls are always crispy and I am impressed that they seem to use fresh vegetables in their dishes. I got the cashew shrimp recently and it was loaded with fresh chopped zucchini and carrots, versus other places where it's just a handful of celery and pre-frozen diced carrots.“
