“Went here for lunch with good friends who come here often it was every thing they said it would be and more the food was excellent. The service was great even though they were very crowded at lunch. We did not feel rushed at all in fact we were there for over two hours. I will definitely return When back in the area.“

Tried some new things like Chop Suey and Buddha's delight. Everything is super solid and delicious, lots of sauce. I like their take on Dragon & Phoenix (called Double Wonder, pictured), it actually makes more sense as the shrimp is spicy too. The egg drop won ton soup was prepared perfectly as well. And the spring rolls... Are spring rolls!“

“Compared to all the other Chinese around Latham that are not great at all golden house was the best BY far we ever had ! I am glad we stumbled upon them ! Everything was flavorful the crab ragoon was actually stuffed with more than a 1/2 teaspoon of filling ! The sesame chicken was not overcooked and the Mongolian beef was very flavorful , yes a lot of onions but I like it that way ! For the price it for sure was amazing rather than spending 100 on yangs( love their sushi) or anywhere around for mid/ overcooked no flavor . I would order again for sure ! And the house “cow mein” delish! The delivery driver so nice and fast !“

“My child orders the sweet chicken and chicken breast every week. They're freshly cooked every morning, and my child especially loves the chicken breast. Rice noodles are my favorite, and cheese wontons are a must. The wait can be a bit long during peak dinner hours, but I understand. They put their heart into their work. “We just moved to the area and have tried many different Asian cuisines. Tai pan was the best priced and the quality of the sesame chicken outshined all the other restaurants near by. The mei fun was super good too. The crab wontons were super fresh and not heavy in fried wrapper. The balance was perfect. One complaint was not enough white rice but that’s an easy fix for next time and didn’t take away from the experience. My husband got the red curry with no to lite spice and they made it just right. We did take away and plan for this to be our go to spot going forward.

PS - make it so you can order springs rolls on your website :) I only see it as an add on in the combos“

“They’re deserving of the positive feedback they get here. Small yes, however the flavorful food makes up for the size of the restaurant. My wife loves the crab ragoon and rices. I’ve eaten a couple of the noodle dishes and we always have roasted pork rolls. Everything tastes great and they’re nice people.“

Selections were cold, sesame noodles, shrimp, eggroll, eggplant, garlic sauce, sesame, tofu, vegetable mushu, shrimp, chow mein, and vegetable fried rice. Everything arrived hot and I think they are now my favorite take out Chinese in the area. Normally eggplant and garlic sauce is dripping with oil. This was not. Ditto for the tofu. There are slight extra charges for things such as putting egg in the vegetable fried rice, but it is made the way we asked it to be made, and the delivery was quick and accurate. much better than using an online ordering app. I think the restaurant makes it better with direct ordering and we did too. This will be our go to rather than the two or three others in the immediate area.“

“The food is very amazing, portions are large, the price is fair. They have a lot of options and you can choose what you want in your order even if it’s not on display in front of the restaurant. For example you can ask for dumplings, shrimp broccoli, beef broccoli, chicken vegetable, and sweet and sour chicken. Cheese wonton and lots more. Waiting about 8-10 minutes. “Best pork dumplings (and dumpling sauce) ever. The vegetable dumplings are also very flavorful. The ramen is solid too. Highly recommend the peach jasmine iced tea. It’s an explosion of peach flavor with actual peaches in it and it’s sooooo good.“

The Lo mein was hot hot and so delicious. lol I wasn’t able to take a picture of the beef and broccoli as everything was gone so fast(they inhaled it). Very delicious, I was super surprised at how fast the food came and how well packaged it was. They give you this cute little insulated bag and the silverware was also packaged separately and the packed it so well. “Fast delivery, especially for a Saturday. Lunch specials are generous. To the people who say the tariffs made their price to high, new no 1 has lower prices than many others in the area.
The fried rice was great in my lunchtime order, definitely not dry.
I won't name names, but I see reviews that have 1 star on atmosphere, appeared to have been delivery. Maybe you meant your own space (where you consumed the food) has a terrible atmosphere?

I also won't name my regular Chinese restaurant's name either, it is safe to say that I now have switched to new. No 1

“The owners are hardworking, nice & understanding. It's a family run business. One time, I temporarily misplaced my wallet (down the chute in between the door and car seat) and they still let me have my food order with the promise of paying the next day. Food is great; a variety of veggies like zucchini for vegetarians. It's flavorful, sauses aren't overly corn starched. It may look a little rough around the edges, the plaza is past it's prime, but out of the other options in Watervliet, Colonie, Troy, Latham. This and New Panda in Latham are my go-tos“

Parking: There is always parking in this lot as there are other businesses next door that also have spots available. The entire lot is usually only about 30% full.“
