“Whenever I had a craving for south indian food in long island, I used to frequent Taste of Chennai, i.e. until I discovered this place Village - The Soul of India. This is by far the best south indian restaurant in long island. Their pani puris are killer. The dosas, idlis chutneys and sambars reminded me of what I had tasted back in India. Everything tasted fresh too. The service was good and prompt. We were lucky to get in right before the dinner rush hour where we saw large groups having to wait for a table.

For those who are not familiar with south indian food: their menu is either completely vegetarian (as in this case) or largely vegetarian and 100's of options to choose from.

I don't really like ice cream (i know, that's crazy right?), but my husband and my kids always go to this place so I decided to try it. It's a super friendly place that's owned by a wonderful couple (Craig & Giselle, I think? I don't really know if that's how she spells it), but I never wanted to try the ice cream. Except today. I tried the passion fruit flavor - and my God, there's nothing like it! You really have to taste it - it's so yummy. People enjoying good mex food are more enjoyable to be around for some reason..anyway...lighting as with most place is difficult to read menu but once the order was in,alot of fun...I noticed the food to be very FRESH...I immediately tasted that in the beans on my Mexican special and the Flautas,chimichanga etc were all delicious stuffed and perfectly cooked!..Fajita steak was so nicely marinated and charred but med inside..Perfect!..Wait staff were all very pleasant....I enjoyed my visit and will defin visit during a slow day,maybe lunch for a lil more quiet....“
