Restaurantji's Armonk guide: Where to find the best Mexican flavors.
“Best Mexican restaurant in Westchester. We've been there several times and the food is always beautifully prepared and delicious. The chef/owner uses fresh ingredients she purchases that day from the farmer's market, and the dishes are inventive and wonderful. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny.“
“Just fantastic food. Nothing I write will do the food justice, you need to try it! The tacos and fried cauliflower are AMAZING (yes, I said cauliflower). There are usually fun specials too. There are only a few tables, so more of a take out place, but I am certain you will be happy if you try them out!“
“Really an excellent place! I highly recommend you go here! Diego and his family were really welcoming. It's a family run business, and you can tell - the food's great! You can find parking easily on the street. The flavors were excellent, especially the home made sauces. Everything was good! There's seating inside, too.“
“Nice local owned restaurant serving Mexican and Peruvian cuisine. The server was very sweet and friendly. Definitely try their local inca drinks. Mine was made with Passion fruit. It was so refreshing and good. Loved their ceviche had a great kick of spice and lemon to it. Also the salted steak was very good too. Portions were large so i wrapped half of my meal to take home.“
“Omg this place is da bomb!!!! We came here after we got kicked out of a fancy restaurant next door since we didn’t have a reservation!!! So glad they did as this place is 1/5th of the price and the quality is amazing. Flavor price service quantity n selection is definitely beyond five star!!!! This might be one of the best restaurants on this block - no frills straight up good food - very limited seating but definitely will be back for take out!! Thanks!!!“
“I’ve been in twice so far. Once I popped in for falafels with my daughter, and the other time I picked up takeout. Everything we’ve tried on the menu has been delicious! I love the fusion concept. The owner is very kind, always remembering to ask if we want sauces, utensils, etc. I love that it’s kosher and vegan-friendly! I highly recommend everyone give it a try for lunch, dinner, or catering!“
“Really amazing food, nice kids menu. Food was amazing. They give really good nachos and salsa. Informal but great service, incredible food and affordable. Tastes like genuine Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended!Kid-friendliness: Went with my son, had a great affordable kids menu with big delicious portions.“

“I would definitely say that in all of Greenwich, this is the most authentic mexican food there is. They're reasonably priced, parking can be difficult, but overall I have yet to have a bad experience here! The guacamole is amazing! Sometimes i just come in for that“
“My wife and I stopped in tonight to get some dinner and we were extremely happy with the food and the service. Everything was made super fresh, fast and it was delicious! Literally everything was amazing! Even the hot sauce was perfectly balanced and tasted fresh. We will be back again soon! Thank you so much!“
“We had the most amazing experience eating at this place. The food was phenomenal. Specially, that yucca and Tostones. What made this experience the most memorable was the outstanding customer service we received from Josh. He went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great time and really paid attention to the details. We would definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend everybody go to this place!“
“Great and diverse menu served in an organized fashion with cheerful staff! Couldn't ask for anything better! Oh wait, they also have a fantastic selection of Mexican sodas. AND they have delicious and homemade Mexican popsicles (Paletas) that came in so many wonderful flavors. Would absolutely recommend this place, located in a convenient spot in downtown Chappaqua with free parking behind the restaurant. Definitely check this place out!“
“Basing my review on the taco salad but it's so good that it deserves its own review. It's such a massive salad, with such a great portion and fresh ingredients. The mango vinaigrette is absolutely delicious. I usually get it to go, and while they haven't mastered the art of packing this massive salad up yet, I absolutely suggest it!“
“Geraldo knows how to serve his customers... he's very kind & knows how to talk about his excellent homemade food...I ordered mole-cemita-chalupas from my son's world tour...backpackNus...!!!Parking: Go around the corner & you'll find 2hr street parking...!!!“
“Panchito's is our new go-to Taco and Burrito spot. Francisco, the owner, and his staff go out of their way to be friendly and really take pride in their business which shines through in every interaction. The food is great, and we will keep coming back.Kid-friendliness: Remembers my kids name, and is very kind to our family.“
“Excellent place to go for legit Mexican food after a show. The staff is super friendly and are highly accommodating. I really recommend their Molotes and other vegetarian options. Their vegetarian tacos are amazing. Overall a really good placeTo dine and the prices are really reasonable too.Vegetarian options: Molotes, vegetarian tacos, cheese enchaladas, jugos.“
“There aren’t a ton of Mexican options around our area (that I’ve found anyway) so I was excited to try this one out when we found it. It was pretty good. We tried the chicken enchiladas, tacos (chorizo, shrimp, and beef), fries (of course), and the chips and guac. Everything was pretty good, some parts were a little dry. It’s a very small hole in the wall and the wait time was really long. It took about 45 minutes for our pick up to be ready which I thought was pretty long. Overall, it was okay and I’d go back to try something else.I was a little disappointed to see them still using styrofoam containers and would love to see them switch to something more eco friendly.“
“The food was delicious and the service very welcoming with a smile and fast. The owner, Jonathan, went out of his way to make us welcome and feel at-home. Highly recommend this kosher mexican/Israeli establishment despite limited seating area.“
“The food is great. Authentic. Owner and team make you feel at home. This is on the top of my must go to places when I am in Westchester! The place is home style, not fancy - enjoy it ?Parking: Parking directly across the street. No charge at night.“
“Nice Mexican restaurant with friendly atmosphere. We came on a weeknight and service was just okay considering the restaurant was not busy. Owner or manager and hostess were too deep in conversation to thank us for visiting etc. Not normally a reason I would post about, however it seemed as if they were trying to ignore us.Food was okay but not as authentic as I would have wanted.“
“Ive started to find the best torta and I've so far I've tried four different Mexican restaurants and by far Cancun makes the best torta and for a great price. They also sell warm and delicious Mexican bread made fresh. The only downside of the places is at night where many men come to drink.“
“We visited this place on a Saturday, we tried Birria con arroz y Frijoles, and this was one of the best Birria in town ever! We also had Tacos arabes, the meat, seasonings and the salsa roja were beyond delicious. I have to say that costumer service is one of the best we have ever had. We highly recommend you this place, don't go with the fact that is a small establishment. You won't regret it“
“The food and service here is absolutely incredible! Truly the best tacos I have ever had at a great price. We ordered the carnitas (my personal favorite) and bistec tacos, cecina burrito, and Cubana torta. Everything is so delicious and made to order. Never disappoints, can't wait to return!“
“Tijuana has the best Mexican cuisine in Mount Kisco. All of their ingredients are clearly fresh and everything is made to order! They have the same "chipotle" style set up, but the ingredients are so so SO much better. And if you don't want to make your own, all of their premade menu items are perfection!! You can literally taste the extra care and love that is put into each meal. I have been coming here for YEARS and will not and cannot stop! The owners start making my owner before I even close the door behind me, they're the sweetest people ever. Please give Tijuana a try if you're looking for your new favorite spot for a a burrito, and probably some churros!!“
“Wow! The service my partner and I received here was amazing! Our bartender was so nice and the DJ was fantastic. Food was great also. 10/10 recommend for a good night outDietary restrictions: They were very accommodating with my nut allergy…no issue“
“My two favorite things in the menu are the hand made quesadillas and the Birria ramen. I love the face that these are freshly made to order so steak is juicy and very very tasty best quesadillas and tacos in port Chester for sure. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND“
“(Translated by Google) This place is fantastic, for a long time I have tried a lot of Mexican food both in New York and Connecticut, but this place has that unique touch, I definitely recommend it, my wife and I ordered tacos and tortas everything was very good, the tacos good portion of meat, the exquisite Milanese cakes, it is practically located in port Chester New York and the place appears as there is Jalisco but now it has another name(Original)Este lugar es fantástico, por mucho tiempo e probado mucha comida mexicana tanto en New York como en Connecticut, pero este lugar tiene ese toque único, definitivamente lo recomiendo, mi esposa y yo ordenamos tacos y tortas todo estaba muy bueno, los tacos buena porción de carne, las tortas de milanesa exquisitas, prácticamente está ubicado en port Chester New York y el lugar aparece como hay Jalisco pero ahora tiene otro nombre“
“I’ve been in Salsa Picante lots of times and it never disappoints. Their food is delicious and the margaritas are really well done. Love that they keep changing the ambiance and the decor depending on the season. Costumer service on point.“
“Great little place located in Mt Kisco. The food is great as are the drinks. The waitstaff is extremely thorough and very friendly. I’ve been there on a couple of occasions and both times the service and food were great! Even my 12 year old daughter enjoyed her meal and that is really hard to do!“
“The deli is spotless and the setbice great. I asked for tuna and chopped celery and the rice was exemptional. I brought home a soft roll for my husband to use with the extra tuna I got for him. Made to order I'll try something else next time. The deli lacy is polite and eager to help clients.Fran Lewis just reviews“
“Welcoming, New Peruvian Restaurant in Byram, right on the Greenwich CT and Port Chester NY border. Greeted by a smiling hostess asking how she could be of assistance. I ask for a take-out menu and was guided to the dinner menu. Wanting to stay with Peruvian food I was familiar with, I went with: Chupe de Camarones; Ceveche de Pescado; and Saltado de Camarones. The shrimp soup was a little different, but as good as, any that we have had in this area. The broth had a little more milk than others and I don't believe I've ever had a couple of small pieces of chicken in the soup either. The "stir-fry" shrimp, with scallions, tomatoes, and peppers over French fries w/a nice side of white rice was very tasty. The marinated mixed fish was extremely fresh and properly marinated at the same time. It is one of the very best Ceveche's we've had in a very long time! Will we be back.....?We can't wait to sample the rest of their menu.“
“Great addition at the Columbus Plaza. Service was quick. The area sitting was somewhat clean. Food was delicious and you can customize your order. You can also download the app and collect rewards from it. Catering is also available at salsa fresca.Parking: On site parking with a garage floorWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible in front of restaurant but no automatic door to assist upon entering the restaurant“
“Although the appetizers took a while to come out, they were delicious. We got the sampler and asked for one beef and one chicken but got two beef empanadas. The real issue was the drinks. Four different drinks all tasted bitter like they had lime juice added. The atmosphere wasn't loud which was the major plus.“
“I highly recommend the Quesocarne (picture included). It has every type of meat you want on it and the guacamole, spices and lime make all the flavors play perfectly with each other. The crunchiness of the meat is a wonderful and unexpected bonus to this dish. The place was quant and the staff were nice and attentive. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area, you will be happy that you did.“
“What a cute little place!! They have the most adorable outdoor space! The portions are huge. Most places skimp on steak, but I had the Mike’s panini and it was full of delicious tender steak. The staff is so courteous and nice. Will definitely be back. BTW, municipal parking is right behind the restaurant.“
“Great hidden gem! For what it is, 4 stars is fitting. Small and outdated but man can you get amazing food here. Love being able to watch them cook. Can never go wrong with the chilaquiles or huevos rancheros! (Verde for me). Pick out your own drink and enjoy the meal!“
“The carnitas were heavenly, a perfect textural combo of crunchy, tender, and juicy, and not overly salty. The tortilla soup was very simple and authentic: a delicious broth with a bit of cheese (that gradually dissolves through the broth) and some fresh avocado and tortilla. The food tastes homemade, like grandma made it. Even the margaritas are lovely: not too sweet with a nice kick. We will be back and only sorry we never tried it before. Service is fine (they do a brisk carry out business that has to travel through the dining room) and decor/atmosphere is comfortable and not fancy. Prices are surprisingly modest.“
“Excellent, authentic local Mexican restaurant! I've been coming here for years and am never disappointed. The staff is incredibly friendly, the service is quick, the food (especially the fajitas) is delicious...what more could you ask for? I typically dine-in here, but I have ordered take-away a few times before and it has been a seamless process, as well. My go-to are either the chicken or the shrimp fajitas. The warm, house-made tortillas are mouth-watering! I also love that it is a small place. With only a few tables, the service is extremely quick and responsive, and it is never too loud in there. They do have a booth that can fit a larger group, and I have seen the staff put several tables together to accommodate a larger group before. Nevertheless, this is perfect for groups between 2-8 people. Street parking is available and easy to snag, and there is also a massive parking lot straight in front of the restaurant (paid unless it's a Sunday, depending on time of day). Highly recommend checking out Azteca if you are looking for authentic Mexican food in town!“
“Had dinner here with my fiancé. Has become my favorite place. The drinks were just right, very authentic and not too sweet. The food was immaculate. Service was awesome and the ambiance as well. This was quite the experience. I will definitely be back.“
