“We went there for lunch on a whim on a weekday. The place is tiny and clean and doesn't look fancy. The food was Balkan style - either Serbian or Croatian - and it was very good. There was only one person working there and she took care of us well.“

“My friend and I came for a wonderful dinner last night. My friend had Svickova and I had the roast pork with sauerkraut, and dumplings. Everything was delicious and authentic just like when visiting the Czech Republic. We also had some great Czech beer! Service was also very friendly and the restaurant itself looks very nice and cozy inside. Koliba is truly a gem in New York City and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Czech cuisine!“

“We hosted a private event at Gus's (dinner after a city hall wedding) and had an AMAZING experience. The manager, Megan, was so helpful to work with throughout -- she was a thought partner on food and decor choices, she coordinated with our other vendors, and most importantly made sure that the event itself went off without a hitch! The ambiance was on point and the food was DELICIOUS -- all of our guests have been raving about it since then!! The staff was also super warm and helped make the event feel extra special. (An extra shout out to the bartender Andrew for cracking jokes all night). Highly recommend Gus's under any circumstance!!“

“Me and my friends came here after seeing an IG post of the Owner being Black Woman who’s a Michelin Award Winning Chef. Needless to say, we were very impressed. The atmosphere has a great ambiance, the space is very clean, the staff were VERY kind too. However… our food tasted AMAZING! I will most definitely be coming back here again. BaBa’s is a must do for us every time we’re in NYC and recently we enjoyed the hand crafted delights at home when we received a bunch as a gift after having a baby for my postpartum nurturing. “Recently went and although the food and waiter staff were great, we were expecting what we seen on here. There was no performances. An empty space. Apparently there's a 2 hr gap between brunch and dinner. The booking site allowed for a 4pm reservation. When we arrived we were accommodated but looked at funny. We found out that brunch had ended at 3pm. I was really hoping for the full experience I seen here and paid alot and didn't get it.“

Perfectly crispy, flaky, not greasy, full of ingredients, and made with love, this food brings me back to my grandmother’s cooking from my childhood.

When my teenage daughter arrived late, the team handled it with such grace and precision that any concern simply disappeared. The entire evening remained fluid, thoughtful, and perfectly orchestrated.

“Really loved the bread and butter, clams, tuna carpaccio, picanha, short rib, duck, and potatoes. Wines that I tasted were good and they have excellent dirty vodka martinis too. Short rib and picanha are a bit similar so if you’re on the fence between a few dishes, I’d just get one and maybe try a couple of the other mains unless you’re really craving steak. This place has a sexy Parisian-esque wine bar vibe and I loved it. Seating by the open windows and people watching will be super nice once the good weather starts to stick around.

Ps The Infatuation review for this place was so off the mark, I wish I came in sooner (everyone at the table’s opinion, not just mine). Will definitely be back and it’s a great addition to the neighborhood.“

“I thought I had left a review but i guess i didn't! I went here last year for my 31st birthday my boyfriend surprised me after months of me wanting to come visit. I'm originally from NYC but live hours away.

I loved the decor and the vibe of it all, our hostess was so sweet and attentive and acknowledged it was our first time there so she helped all she could. The food aside from the grits that day were delicious, well cooked and the performances were great and loved getting a good laugh along with enjoying the music in between just getting to enjoy the atmosphere. I was surprised they also sing you happy birthday, my boyfriend had mentioned it when we were ordering and to have the performers sing with the rest of the staff was a cute experience for this goth birthday girl <3“
