The food is delicious and hot. Their tomato sauce is perfect! The sangria is very good too. Great little neighborhood place.“

“Sophistian is our go to neighborhood place for pizza because it’s delicious, and they give great service whether pick-up, or eating in (it’s so close that my daughter and I just walk over to pick-up, so we haven’t done delivery. They also have yummy sandwiches/wraps, and great salad options as well.

The best thing about Sophistian is that it’s run by lovely people who make you feel welcome, and really take care of you, which means so much in a local eatery.

We wanted to start with a classic pie- Margherita - because generally, if a place gets the basics right, it means the rest will be good. The order was ready within 15 minutes and we were really pleased by how delicious and fresh the pie was! Really fresh basil, good sauce, and a very yummy crust.
We’re spoiled in Astoria with a lot of great places to eat, and I’m glad we can add a solid pizza spot to our rotation!“

Both were very good and inexpensive. What I loved most about this place is the people working there. Even though it was midnight, everyone was smiling and happy to serve.
