“Love the coffee and approach with artistry to roasting at Gipfel. The staff is always friendly and the pairing with Sand Lake Merchant makes for an authentic feel and vibe. Highly recommend the trip out to Gipfel from anywhere in the Capital Region.”
“If y'all haven't tried this place, I HIGHLY suggest it! Deserves more than 5 stars?????????? this is my home away from home. They became family to me. They greet you as you walk in the door, by your name. They will make what ever you ask for. They're the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Their place is so clean an smells amazing.”
“We called for same day reservations and were pleasantly surprised to be able to get our requested time, especially for a friday evening. The weather was beautiful, and we contemplated eating outside, but they didn't have lights on their outside deck. But that wasn't a problem, as it was getting chillier out. We ran into some friends as we walked inside and were able to add them to our reservation since they had a 4 top available. Our waitress came right over and took our drink order. We ordered the 32 oz Cowboy Steak to share with a side of broccoli, and the other couple ordered the sesame encrusted Ahi Tuna Steak and the prime rib sandwich with au jus dip and fries. Everything came out perfectly done. We expected that our steak would have been thicker, after seeing pictures of it from previous posts, but it filled the plate. There was also a lot of fat to cut around. We ended up taking half of our steak home, but the other couple finished theirs completely. Because we made reservations, we both received complimentary chocolate mousse, which was delightful! We paired it with a nutty Irishman cocktail. We also took the 2nd chocolate mousse to go.The food is Always good at Jack Kellys. Very flavorful. Their soups are also very good, although we did not order tonight. The atmosphere is very casual, as it's a golf country club.”
“Its a cozy spot! We were in the area so gave it a try. I wouldn't drive there as a destination. Food was good but on the heavy side. Parking is a little tricky but manageable if you're creative. I wasn't impressed with the steak and frits, the fries were limp and not crisp. My wife decided not to eat her leftovers we took home so I don't think she loved her chicken meal either. I wish them well but maybe a better spot for a drink then dinner too.”
“Paula’s Country Kitchen is a AMAZING! If you’re driving through it’s she’s inside the pharmacyIn the back! If the lights are on she’s there!I had the Turkey sandwich!”
“Excellent food. I bring all of my friends and family her for a meal when they visit. There is something on the menu to appeal to any palate, and the portions are great.”
“Stopped by today for opening. Pizza is the best around. Must be if I drive from Pittsfield 45 min drive. Was a little disappointed in the wings. A little dry for me. I like more sauce. Last yr they were perfect. Maybe I should have ordered a little more sauce on the side.”
“Having lived in the south most of my life, I'm constantly on the lookout for great BBQ, specifically Carolina style BBQ. When I saw they had it on the menu I was a bit skeptical, but gave it a shot anyway. To say it was amazing would be an understatement! This was some of the best, if not THE best, Carolina BBQ I've ever had. The sauce it came in was absolutely perfect and there was no need for additional sauce. The meat was smoked to perfection and incredibly tender and juicy! Just be prepared for a wait upon arrival, or call ahead and make reservations. The overall atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were great, and some of the friendliest you could want at any restaurant! The drinks were also great! The Bloody Mary's are fantastic!”
“First time visit to La Perla in Averill Park, NY Thursday 8/17/23 6:30pm reservation. We came because of the music by The Next Chapter, Alan Saunders & Mike Derrico formerly of the Good for the Soul band that played at our wedding in 2006. They were set up in an nice courtyard at the rear of the restaurant, but an hour later had to move inside due to the rain.Very prompt service by the staff. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. We settled on two appetizers: eggplant rollatini ($20) and the clams casino ($22). Note: clams are offered in 6 different styles. Italian style entrees from $18-33, more for specialty fish entrees i.e. zuppa de pesce $51. This is a fine dining restaurant offering well prepared and a variety of dinners. Bill was $100. for two meals & four alcoholic beverages. We ended our evening at the unique bar & dining area where we could still see & hear the band. This place also offers overnight accommodations & is an event venue.A very good first visit here.Restaurant Hours of Operation: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday4PM - 9PMFriday & Saturday4PM - 10PMSunday3pm-9pmRestaurant is closed on Tuesdays. “I'm a fan of, and regularly attend, Naughter's Midnight Breakfast. Whether you are trying to wind down for the day with a cup of coffee and a conversation , want to get a nostalgia hit while searching the impressive collection of cassettes for your favorite artist, or you're an unawakened, "Foodie," there for the daily specials that are [always] worth foregoing your, "Usual;" you'll quickly learn to adopt Naughter's as your last stop in Troy. I traveled around the world with the military, learned to cook like a Southern Italian during Christmases with my family in Foggia, experienced the tremendous variety of cuisines in Asia, but had to travel to a hidden diner in Troy NY to be introduced to my new favorite soup, Vichyssoise.”
“Fantastic kebabs, as good as any place I’ve been or better. Very friendly and fast, and the food was delicious! Great prices for such large portions, could easily get 2-3 meals out of a $16 plate. Only wish they’d moved in while I was still at RPI!”
“Went for date night before hockey game. We’ve had their tacos (which are authentic btw) a the food trucks in glens falls. BUT, the heated igloos were a romantic and surprising touch. It was great…fast, authentic, cool, and oh so yummy”
“My wife recently had to go gluten free, and we have been trying to find a good place to easily get breakfast for a date. We happened to find Birch Baked with a Google search and checked it out. We were not disappointed! We each got a breakfast sandwich and a sweet treat (she got a cookie and I got a cider donut). The food was awesome!! If I didn't know everything was gluten free, I would have had no idea. We are definitely coming back to try out other things like their pizza, hot and cold sandwiches, and the owner told us they are starting a dinner night Thursdays and Fridays with lots of great options. Top notch place filling a big need in the area.”
“Lucky ? to have stopped at The Bunker during our stay in Greenbush. We sat at the bar and our server Lauren was so attentive, friendly and made a delicious dirty martini. The food was excellent! We ordered the salmon tacos and Philly cheesesteak, both scrumptious! Actually, I order fish tacos quite often and these were the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely stop in again when traveling through the are.”
“I had the egg sandwich. Looked like too much food but I ate the whole thing. Delicious! Companions had Bloody Mary’s and the duck chili - both said it was amazing. We will definitely be back to try other creations.”
“The large mezze with all of the little scoops of magical flavor is so delicious that it's hard to pick a favorite. When they show up at your table with the bread bigger than your plate it's hard not to squeal with delight. We live in PA but stop here whenever we get the chance. We also had the beef and lamb kebab, which was a perfect compliment. We ate it before we could take any photos.”
“Very nice and clean place! Service was friendly and polite. Food was delicious full of flavor! I got lamb Rogan Josh comes with rice and my boyfriend got chicken curry comes with rice. We each got mango lassi and we got 2 naan bread (rosemary and garlic). We also got a dessert to share. The bill was $62. I think the price was good and portion size was Perfect! We will be coming back!! Thank you!!”
“We just ordered for the first time today… our order accidentally got messed up and the owner realized it and called us after it was delivered and they delivered the entire correct order without us even having to ask… he insisted they make it right! Great customer service and obviously the pizza was really great too!! Definitely recommend :)”
“I liked their barbecue pulled pork sandwich, but there was hardly no sauce on it. The bbq beans also had no bbq sauce in it. The coleslaw was better than the ultra sweet stuff they serve everywhere else. The potato salad was ok. I mean is it really barbecue if it's not sauced well?”
“Delicious stop off of 90 if you’re doing the Boston to upstate NY drive. Everything was fresh and delicious!Kid-friendliness: Super accommodating to picky kiddo eaters!”
“The associates are sweet and wonderful. I love everything about this place so far. The patrons seem to include some of the happiest, loveliest, most interesting people. I have actually had spontaneous conversations here...wow, conversations, and nice ones. That's special. I adore Jacob Alejandro!”
“I've been (mostly) plant-based for the last 5 years, and this is the best vegan food spot I've tried anywhere in the world. The owner and his staff are very friendly and helpful, the food quality is consistent and on point.Parking: Located North side of the building”
“Wow!! This place was everything I could've hoped for and more!! Absolutely incredible food, friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. (The second floor has great views of the river.) Venezuelan arepas and cachacas are a true delicacy, and not always easy to find, so to have a spot here in the 518 that's just killing it is a really wonderful thing. I went with my girlfriend and we tried several things: the yuca fries, pork empanadas, sweet and crispy cachacha and pork arepa. We literally inhaled it. The only pauses were to groan with delight. Oh Corn is absolutely amazing!!”
“We love it here because of the great atmosphere, coffee and food. If you want to find your next favorite coffee shop in the area, then stop by FT!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options”
“I've had the pleasure of enjoying Alias's espresso in my first and most recent cortado at the weekly Farmers Market??. Today I decided to give a large black cup, no sugar, of their Tarrazú Farm house blend a swirl... This will be a simple review of the Costa Rica cultivated locally-roasted brew: ?!#Crisp #Balanced #RefillWorthy”
“One of the best bakeries on the planet. Their breads, pastries, etc., are incredible. In particular their dark rye is off the hook. They call it a rye but it reads like the best pumpernickel you've ever tried.”
“My husband and I are coffee addicts. This was possibly the best we've ever had, and the breakfast sandwich and English muffin were also out of this world. Sadly we live in North Carolina, or we'd be there every day. Absolutely outstanding, cannot recommend it highly enough.”
“Was starving for some Spanish food on a Friday night. I live in Schenectady but drove to troy to try Sabor Caribeno. I was greeted by a beautiful and friendly woman who made me feel welcomed. She also introduced me to the owner who was just as friendly, now to the food. The food was delicious and plentiful, I got the pepper steak and stewed chicken and I wasn't disappointed! This is my new SPOT...I don't mind the drive for GREAT food. We need more Spanish restaurants like this in the communities. 10 outta 10 for me ALL AROUND!!!!”
“This place is so good! We were introduced to this lovely place thanks to my bother and sister in law whom live in Mexico. Food is just so good and so fresh! I love their fresh salsa and guacamole! I'll definitely be back!”
“Ordered lunch yesterday for pick up for myself and my colleagues and highly recommend! Each sandwich and sides were delicious, excellently priced, and quickly made. Would definitely recommend!”
