“First time visit to La Perla in Averill Park, NY Thursday 8/17/23 6:30pm reservation. We came because of the music by The Next Chapter, Alan Saunders & Mike Derrico formerly of the Good for the Soul band that played at our wedding in 2006. They were set up in an nice courtyard at the rear of the restaurant, but an hour later had to move inside due to the rain. Very prompt service by the staff. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. We settled on two appetizers: eggplant rollatini ($20) and the clams casino ($22). Note: clams are offered in 6 different styles. Italian style entrees from $18-33, more for specialty fish entrees i.e. zuppa de pesce $51. This is a fine dining restaurant offering well prepared and a variety of dinners. Bill was $100. for two meals & four alcoholic beverages. We ended our evening at the unique bar & dining area where we could still see & hear the band. This place also offers overnight accommodations & is an event venue. A very good first visit here. Restaurant Hours of Operation: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4PM - 9PM Friday & Saturday 4PM - 10PM Sunday 3pm-9pm Restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Reservations are recommended. “Wow, what an awesome find! I have never been to Troy before but was here visiting my friend who recently moved. We decided to order from a local shop that delivered a menu to his address.

We ordered a large 3 topping pizza, wings, and two Appetizers. Pricing was considerably more affordable to what I’m used to in CT/MA.

The food was ready in 15-20 minutes! When we arrived to pick up the food just seeing their shop was awesome! Very bright, colorful, and artistic. Upon entering the pizzeria I was impressed to see they have so many premium pizzas sold by the slice as well.

The owner/workers at the pizzeria seemed happy to be there and were pleasant to deal with while waiting 1-2 minutes for our food.

As for the food details the pizza was very good. Nice big tasty bone in wings as well. Their pickle fries and jalapeño poppers are incredibly delicious!! Overall I am both impressed and beyond satisfied at the quality, and affordability of our food and service from big Apple.

I’ll include a few photo’s of all the food we got. I’m definitely coming back here to visit my buddy soon and go back to the pizzeria!! Overall 10/10 experience.

The environment was pleasant and easy with a touch of class. “As out-of-town visitors we leaned on our friends suggestions and came here for dinner. Wow! Delicious! The chicken parmigiana sandwich was delicious. The pizza was a huge favorite with the younger and older kids. The spaghetti sauce was extra special and we ended up taking some to go to dip bread in at home. “We ordered about 50 minutes prior to closing through Uber Eats for pick up. The chicken parm sub was really good. The bread is a key factor, the cutlet was on the thicker side but really delicious. The sauce was also really great. I felt like the portions were fair for the price. I was disappointed to see the sausage parm hero had the ground sausage balls on it and not an actual sliced Italian sausage link. “I went there tonight for the first time...ordered my pizza in house, waited the stated time, went back in, paid and enjoyed it out in the car..the establishment has a spacious lot for customers...had heard of Dante's pizzas awhile back...decided to finally take a drive out (I live about 40 minutes from there)... I must say, I was impressed. in particular, was the freshness of what I was eating [8 cut pepperoni, mushroom and hot peppers)..the sauce was balanced and on point. the peppers were in two rich varieties, appeared to be freshly sliced, and pepperoni was a tasty, mild Margherita style that was generously offered. I've had pizza from a good number of well-respected pizza places in the capital region- and this pizza had had a very nice composition and the crust was nearly perfect in every way.. It had the proper donenese, the nice receding gumline that floated away to Fluffy, pillow like outer crust. The crust had a good crisp to it but not overly done...just overall great balance with finer ingredients for sure...I will definitely go back again. I would say that this pizza can compete with some of the most popular pizzeria's in the Tri -city area. I really believe that!!.. it was really good... in my opinion.“

This place used to be our go-to and we had nothing but good experiences but recently, the past several times we’ve ordered we have had nothing but issues. Between taking over an hour for deliveries (on week days later at night, not during dinner rush) and then today not bringing our garlic knots we had ordered and being over 15 min late with the delivery… The food has also been over cooked recently and our pizza today wasn’t even hot. We usually tip the drivers good so I’m not sure if it’s just us who has been experiencing this? But we will be finding a new pizza place to order from going forward.“

“Second visit update: So I returned for dinner with a friend of mine and we ordered the shrimp tacos appetizer, sea bass with risotto with cheese and potatoes entree, the cod fish Reuben sandwich entree and the crème brûlée. Sea bass had too much salt but everything else was okay. Our final bill was just under $100 so this place honestly seems too expensive to drop in often as I had originally hoped. I recently moved to the area and have been meaning to try this place for ever since I moved here. Tonight is one of the first warm nights of this spring and I was in the mood for a non-alcoholic beer and fries. So I walked around to peek at the top 5 Yelp choices for bar restaurants near me. One across the street I already went too in the past and it was all college students but this place Emry’s was more my vibe and most importantly it’s not brightly lit like the other nearby bar restaurants. Service was some of the best because they properly staff the bar here so no waiting forever to order and they all were very attentive. Lastly, I’m usually not a big fan of skinny French fries but these were freshly cut hand made (not frozen) and you can really taste the difference. Honestly the French fries here are some of the best I have had anywhere. This is now my go to local spot!“
