“It was so nice to come back to Himalaya after so many years! My first visit was in 2013 when I had just become vegetarian, and I returned again in 2017 as a new vegan. Now, as a 9-year vegan, I was excited to see that they still offer so many delicious vegan-friendly options.

I started with a red sangria, then the Steamed Veg Momos, which were fresh, handmade, and packed with a flavorful mix of vegetables. The Lasooni Gobi was perfectly crispy with a delicious Himalayan sauce.

For entrees, I ordered the Veg Thali, Tadka Dal, and the Veg Korma. The Veg Thali was a wonderful way to sample several classic dishes, the Tadka Dal was comforting and full of aromatic spices, and the Veg Korma was rich, creamy, and made with a dairy-free cashew-based sauce. I also enjoyed the paratha made without butter, which paired perfectly with the curries. It’s the best I’ve had!

Himalaya is a wonderful family-owned restaurant. The food is consistently flavorful, the staff is welcoming, and they do an excellent job accommodating vegan diners.

Whether you’re vegan or simply looking to try authentic Nepali cuisine, I highly recommend stopping by. I’m so glad I came back, and it definitely won’t be another several years before my next visit!“

“Delicious food & drinks. Super friendly staff. Saturday & Sunday brunch is incredible. The place is always decorated for the holidays. We’ve been going there for years. Even though covid shutdowns, years of road construction blocking their entrance, they never gave up. They still decorated the place, had specials, and it seemed the portions got bigger & better. “The best Sicilian in Putnam County. Crunchy bottom, soft and tasty inside. My husband and I get a whole pie, it’s the best fresh out of the oven, we eat two or three slices in the restaurant and take home the rest, freeze for lunches. Bring a devoted Sicilian slice customer I ventured out to a salad, not any salad, their Asian salad. Cold crisp romaine lettuce, crispy chow mein noodles, sliced almonds and mandarin oranges, and the best Asian dressing. Really a very enjoyable salad. A great place for good food and great staff.“
