“My God… Chongqing Lao Zao might be the best Chinese hot pot I’ve ever had. And if you’ve seen my other reviews, you know I’ve eaten at A LOT of hot pot places. 😂 This one seriously impressed me.
The entrance is actually pretty small and very easy to miss, but once you walk through that door… WOW. It feels like you just stepped into a Chinese palace. The decorations, the details, the atmosphere—everything is beautiful. Before we even started eating, I was already walking around looking at everything.
Then there’s the service. Next level. The servers were so attentive that they basically wouldn’t let us lift a finger. 😂 Plates cleared, broth checked, food taken care of—they were always there without making us feel rushed. That kind of service really changes the whole experience.
And of course, the hot pot itself was incredible. Rich, authentic flavors and exactly what I want when I’m craving real Chinese hot pot. Great food is one thing, but when you combine it with this atmosphere and this level of service, it becomes an experience.
I review a lot of hot pot restaurants and usually can find at least one thing I would change. This time, I really can’t.
Small door outside, palace inside. 👏🔥🍲 Easy 5 stars. One of my new favorite hot pot experiences, period.“

“Came here for lunch because I’ve been craving some hotpot. I’m so glad I did. They have a wide selection of meats, seafood and veggies. I had the pork neck soup base which was rich and delicious. My favorite cut of meat so fat is the snowflake beef. It’s fatty, buttery and tender. The kimchi is amazing as well. Customer service is great. They leave you alone while still being attentive. And just in case they aren’t around, there’s a call bell. The seating is very private. They have booths that can close for even more privacy. The booths seat 6. Definitely recommend!“

“The service was excellent; every staff member was warm, attentive, and responsive, making for a very pleasant dining experience. The ingredients were incredibly fresh—both the meat and vegetables were of high quality—and the meal was truly satisfying. The sauce station was spotless, and the overall environment was clean and comfortable. Whenever I crave hot pot, Jingmen is my go-to spot—highly recommended!“

“Nice little place with a unique coconut soup base twist on hotpot. Fun place with friends, and they stay open overnight, so it's a good spot to come after leaving some bars that close early. Service is attentive, food is great, but dineresque banquette seating a bit uncomfortable.“

“The grilled fish with stinky tofu was a surprisingly delicious combination. The fish was tender and flavorful, while the stinky tofu soaked up the rich, spicy broth beautifully. Although the aroma is bold, the taste is incredibly satisfying. The broth was packed with chili, peppercorns, and deep savory flavors that paired perfectly with steamed rice. If you enjoy bold Sichuan flavors and spicy food, this dish is definitely worth trying! 🔥🐟“

“Food was okay. Meats and vegetables were fresh. The broth lacked seasoning. Service was very slow. Our waitress took the drink menu without us having a chance to look at it. When we tried finding someone to order drinks afterward, it took almost 10+ minutes to flag down a staff member only to be told that drinks are self serve and we had to get up to get it ourselves. That would have been good to know when we first sat down. Spacious place, nice selection of options to choose from. Prices are reasonable.“
“The food here is so tasty, I love the grilled fish very much. The spiciness is just right and very delicious. I am a big fan of hot pot, and I can say that this is one of the best hot pot places I have ever had. If you try it you will know what I am talking about.“

“They have three dish one soup, the cheapest price is only 6 usd but they sold out 3 pm . Mostly people who work around here will come buy lunch that’s why sold out fast, bento sell 10 am-2:30 pm; others sell 10 am-9 pm. If you worry about cross contamination this is not the place to go because they do use the same spoon to scoop vegetable dish and meat dishes Updated from previous review on 2026-08-04“
“I kept hearing the term "hot pot" but didn't know what it was. So glad I decided to give Little Sheep a try. It was an excellent experience. Once I told the server that this was my first time visiting a restaurant with this concept, he could not have been more patient explaining how it worked and making recommendation on the best way to order. I can't express how much I value that level of service. There was even a little "cheat sheet" on the table which helped guide you through the process. The food itself was fresh and delicious and the best part, in my opinion, you can enjoy everything while it is still piping hot! My only regret is that I was traveling by myself so I couldn't enjoy this fabulous meal with anyone else. This is definitely a concept which, I'm sure, is better shared with others. I agree with one of the other reviewers that it is surprisingly, reasonably priced for NYC . Great job Little Sheep and thanks for making my first experience with hot pot such a enjoyable one - all the best!“

“Lovely small tea shop! I was looking for some teas as a gift and the ladies inside were extremely helpful. They have all kinds of high quality teas, like green teas, black teas, white teas, and some imported from Taiwan and other parts of Asia. Highly recommend, the ladies are so friendly and helpful and will help you find what you need!“

“Having just returned from the vibrant streets of Taiwan, my taste buds were still singing with the authentic flavors I experienced. I was honestly a little skeptical about finding anything that could truly compare back home, but this place absolutely blew me away!
From the first bite, it was clear that this isn't your average street food. There's a noticeable elevation in the quality and presentation, but thankfully, the authentic taste remains completely intact. It's like a delicious flashback to the night markets of Taipei – the same incredible aromas, the same satisfying textures, and those unmistakable, bold flavors that define Taiwanese cuisine.
If you're craving a true taste of Taiwan without the long flight, look no further. This spot has managed to capture the magic and deliver an experience that genuinely competes with the real deal. Highly, highly recommended!“

“No frills and straight forward
We come here to enjoy hwe and it's exactly what we get. Fresh hwe everytime. The owner will throw in some free rolls here and there and it’s much appreciated.
I would be very sad if this place closed down.“

“A weekly date night spot! Great option for great hotpot flavor at a more bite sized rate. Broth is great and sauce bar is always stocked. Selection of skewers are classic and even have some regular dishes you can order like noodles, vegetables and sliced meat. The selection of drinks is small but pairs well!“

“I was craving mala xiang guo and this hit the spot. Located right of main street, this fast casual restaurant is your classic malatang spot. You fill up your bowl with the ingredients you want, weigh it, and once they cook it and it's ready, you just pick it up from the counter!
They have a variety of veggies, fish tofus, and meats for you to add to your malatang. I would say that their selection is a bit smaller than I'm used to, and a lot of their meats were already marinated (which I don't like). But, their veggie selection was good and fresh. I got their spicy mala xiang guo, and it came with a side of rice. It was good, but I felt like it wasn't spicy enough so I went to go make my own sauce. I wish there was just a bit more seasoning sauce in their mala xiang guo. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed it.“
