“Ayna Agra has become our favorite restaurant ever. While driving home from Brooklyn, we were looking for a restaurant en route with healthy food and high ratings in Bayside. Not for any particular type of food. Just a good meal. Wow, we loved what we found in this gem of a restaurant. It happened to be Indian. Authentic. Healthy, fresh, delicious. Highly recommend.“

“Stopped by the Hindu Temple Canteen for breakfast and tried the Pondicherry Dosa, Rava Masala Dosa, Vada, and Madras Coffee.

The Pondicherry Dosa was crispy on the outside with a flavorful filling inside. The Vada was really good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Rava Masala Dosa was a little oilier because it's made differently, but still tasted good. Both dosas tasted pretty similar once dipped in the chutney and sambar.

The Madras Coffee was really good too. Everything was fresh, and the prices were reasonable. Our total was only $30.48.

Overall, a nice spot for a simple South Indian breakfast. I'd definitely come back!“

“It’s usually pretty quiet here when I tend to go for lunch. The service has always been great and attentive. The portions are big I can rarely finish what I order. The best part is the pricing - I typically order a main with rice & naan and a couple glasses of wine and I always feel like I’m getting a deal. Definitely recommend!“

“I had a wonderful experience at this Indian restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, making it a perfect spot for gatherings. When the staff learned that we were celebrating a birthday luncheon, they kindly paused the music during our cake cutting and even played the "Happy Birthday" song on the big screen. Such a thoughtful touch! The veg platter/thali was delicious, and I highly recommend trying the masala chai as it's a must! Overall, I give this place a well deserved 5 stars!“

“My best friend lives in Queens so she and I come to the Onion Tree every other Friday night. I wish this place was closer to me. I live in Yonkers. The food is superb, seasoned extraordinarily. The chicken is fresh, soft and cut into small bites. I always order chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, or chicken tikka pizza. I have never had food that I enjoyed this much and I have tried all foods all over the world. I never get tired of this place. And the food is served quickly and piping hot. They’re opening a second place in Manhattan. We’re getting closer to Yonkers!! The drinks are awesome too. Barbra and Louis work behind the bar. They’re friendly and great bartenders.“

Me and my friend had everything from samosa, fried rice, naan, goat curry, chicken tikka to palak paneer, kheer, and more. Not too spicy, not too bland, just right. It was just for $18/person. Everyone working there helps bring the food, clear the plates, refill water, etc. The food is fresh, bursting with flavor, and just the right level of spiciness (you are asked if you’d like the food, mild, medium, or spicy hot). The naan was freshly made, and even the rice was cooked perfectly and topped with some fresh cilantro. I took photographs of the food that we ordered today, but it was after we had eaten some; the portions are generous, and you can see that the food looks beautiful and appetizing. I missed taking a picture of the gorgeous homemade samosas; they were the best samosas we have ever eaten.“

Triniciti pholourie bowl have d biggest pholourie I ever see in my life (d ting properly sauced down too), issa must. Plain doubles ong is d best. Saltfish pie euphoric but is d fresh bake n shark daiz justice. Meat in d curry goat roti was a lil on d tough side, but other than that, fantastic (excellent dhalpuri, curry sauce, pumpkin, aloo, chana, bodi)!

If you've never visited and plan to stop by as a walk in customer, join the line/queue to place your order at the hot food counter (a staff member will greet you). There are several menus posted on the walls (some are on pieces of paper, then there's a huge menu above the area where the staff prepares/boxes up the orders).

After you place your order with a staff member they'll prepare/box it and send it over to the cashier. All you have to do is stay in line and wait until you get to the register to pay for your order.

While you're waiting in line, there's bread (hops, coconut bake, sada roti, etc), pastries, desserts (cassava pone, etc), and snacks (tunnock's milk chocolate caramel wafers, big foot, cheezees, tamarind ball, etc) that you can take to the register to add to your order.

There's also currant rolls, pepper sauce, red mango, plum, cherries, coconut drop, (i think i saw toolum?), etc, BEHIND the counter too! So if you see those items and you want to add them to your order, just let the cashier know when you get to the register.

There's cold beverage fridges behind the cashiering counter, so you can get a cold drink (homemade sorrel, mauby, peardrax, ginger beer, seamoss punch, peanut punch, etc).

If you're in line, please don't skip anyone, you might (will most definitely) get cuss by other customers, on top of which you will be politely asked to leave by staff (there's a rule about it, posted quite visibly on the walls).

If you don't want to stand in line or the ordering experience is a little overwhelming during your first visit because it's busy, you can place and pay for your order at one of the kiosks (there's 2 of them to the front of the restaurant). Then you can wait, either seated or standing, to collect it at the kiosk/pick up area which is right next to the kiosks (they'll call your name).“

Pani puri is so flavorful too the perfect amount of tang and spice. Very affordable and a great variety of vegetarian options. “The reason why I don't like coming here is because the Indian people ignore you if you're not indian .I'm standing right in line in the front, and they kept taking people behind me. They don't take the time to take your order down. Precisely It's like you're being rushed to order so that they can get customers in and out. Anyway I ordered the spinach which was okay not bad, the curry chickpeas we're okay not bad, the vegetable vindaloo was the tastiest in my opinion But the potato Samosas were very bland no flavor in them whatsoever. And The Tamarind sauce is just the tad bit too bitter for me. I like mines sweet and seasoned like the guyanese and trinidadians do it. For the most part, they do give you a lot of food and the rice is fresh, the food in general is not too salty, but it is traditionally oily as most Indian cuisine, which is fine with me 7/10 for the taste of the food, but I could care less for the customer service And the cleanliness of the place, I would not be going back.“
