“I was there on a Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly not very busy. The dining area is cafeteria style and there was plenty of seating available. I decided to go with the paneer butter Masala dosa since they only have it available on the weekends. I asked them to make it as mild as possible since South Indian food tends to be very spicy and I cannot handle the heat. The dosa was paper thin which is exactly what I wanted. The filling was delicious and I loved the coconut chutney sauce that came with it. I got the mango lassi drink and it was refreshing and delicious, just wish the drink portions were bigger. The food was very authentic South Indian and it tasted just like what I remember eating when I went to Kerala. This place is out of the way for me but I would definitely return if I'm in the area.

“Every time I come to new york I eat on this place. The food here is authentic to Nepal. And the environment as well. When I was here this time I had Chilli chicken momo, Goat Thali and Sel roti. Chilli chicken momo was perfect blend of spice. On goat thali everything was perfectly balanced. And sel roti reminded me days back on my phone. Will definetely be back when back on new york.“

“The food that I got for takeout was amazingly good!!!! I got the butter chicken, garlic naan bread, and gulab jamun. I also got the mango lassi drink, and it was really good too! Service was great, didn’t take long at all for my food to be made. Pricing is decently good too, not too expensive but also not too cheap. 10/10 overall experience with everything. I will come back here again for more takeout, but next time I’m trying the chicken biryani for sure!“

“I recently ordered a full tray of Kerala style Duck Roast from Kuttanadan Indian Restaurant for a family get-together, and it was an absolute hit! The duck was incredibly tender, with the perfect amount of crispiness on the skin, creating a delightful contrast in texture.
The spices used in the roast were a true testament to authentic Kerala cuisine. Each bite was bursting with flavor, thanks to the perfect blend of spices like coriander, turmeric, and a hint of Black pepper that added just the right amount of heat. The marination was spot on, allowing the flavors to deeply penetrate the meat, making it juicy and flavorful.
Kuttanadan Indian Restaurant truly delivered with this order. The quality and quantity were excellent, making it perfect for sharing with family. The service was also commendable, with the restaurant ensuring that the food was ready for pick-up on time and packed securely. Overall, the Kerala Duck Roast was the star of our gathering.“

“Delicious food and drinks! Friendly host/server. Highly recommend the fish curry and chana masala. We also had a couple of the bar bites (okra, chile paneer, cauliflower - all delicious). Small place with cute bar seating and a nice outdoor patio. Easy for takeout as well.“

“love this place and in my opinion it's the best Indian food in NYC. Place recently opened and I get takeout a couple of times a week and have dined here several times already. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful and they have a full bar. Prices are super reasonable and the owner Ali is total gentleman.“

“Overall, it was pretty good. Chili chicken momos were really good and stayed crispy even when cooked in sauce. The garlic naan was fantastic and very well made. The vegetable thali was overall really good, but the dal was a little bland, in my opinion. They're very generous with the amount of rice they give you.
I was a little disappointed by the tandoori chicken. It was a little underseasoned, and one of the pieces was very overcooked and dry. The butter chicken was made well and tasted alright; it was too sweet/not savory enough for me. Too much added sugar, personally.
Service was good.“

“I found this place on Google and drove a half hour to get there. The staff was friendly, but looked surprises that an African American walked in. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious and the price was fair. The portion was more than enough and I would highly recommend this place and I would gladly return.“

“I ordered takeout for my family of 4 and food was PHENOMENAL! The food was hot, fresh, and temperature controlled. I hate it when restaurants put salad and the hot food in the same tray. They did NOT do this. We got the lamb chops, chicken tikka and lamb tikka. They were tender and juicy! Rice was fresh and the salad crisp. Run, do not walk lol, & try them. You wont be disappointed.“

“We here for a birthday dinner and the ambiance was really nice. They were really busy on a Saturday night so I recommend having reservations which we did. The appetizers were really good which included chicken lollipop, manchow soup and bullet chicken. For the main course we ordered the chili chicken, chili fish, Hakka noodles, vegetables fried rice, and gobi manchurian. I definitely recommend the Hakka noodles as they were very tasty. The other entrees were good but were missing that umph. I will definitely come back to try the Indian food as that is what everybody seemed to be ordering. The service was overall good seeing as they were extremely busy. Overall decent prices!

“I live in GA so when I go to NY I always go to Singh’s to buy Roti Skins to take back home. This past week when I visited I tried the Jerk Chicken which was well seasoned with the jerk seasoning but too salty for me. If there was less salt I would have enjoyed it more. Gave the rest to my niece.“

“I have been going to this restaurant since 2001. At that point it used to be only branch of this restaurant. Food has always been outstanding at this place especially momos. Service and atmosphere has a declined a bit since owners mostly concentrate on bigger branches of this restaurant. I still like this hole in a wall gem.
Parking: Parking wise its a nightmare.“

“Taste of Kerala Kitchen has the most authentic and delicious traditional Kerala (South Indian) food.
We went to celebrate Onam and everything was just fantastic.
It is a buffet style restaurant and they had all the vegetarian Onam classics plus the delicious red fish with green mango curry as a bonus.
We've been regulars since they opened and have never once had a bad meal - aromatic, spiced bites and some dishes offer a hint heat without being overwhelming.
Even though they served Onam Sadhya they didn't jack up their prices and cut back on what the offered (unlike the other places).
Fantastic food (the buffets get refilled constantly), friendly staff, comfy restaurant and good prices make Taste of Kerala Kitchen the best spot to have real South Indian food.“

“This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Astoria, possibly all of Queens! The food is always so satisfying and home-y, pretty much like mom-made food that I grew up on. Love their lamb korma especially and the fennel chicken curry which is very simple and comforting, home style curry. The paneer makhani and parsi shrimp curry are also amazing, as are most of the dishes they serve really. And the service is always top notch, super friendly and helpful staff and delivery is quick. The food and service has remained consistent throughout the years, and the restaurant has only gotten better with their move to the new location on 30th Ave. Occasionally I've wished they would introduce a new item or two on the menu, but other than that it's still a neighborhood gem and our go-to for South Asian food in Astoria.
Update: we moved out of Astoria after decades and still go back to Seva or pick up food from there at any opportunity when we're passing through the neighborhood. I will always be a fan!“

“The food came out extremely promptly and the service was awesome. Our waiter Islam, made sure that we always had what we needed, refilled water without being prompted and allowed us time to make our order! Now our food was super tasty! I ordered the vegetable Samoa which was gigantic and came with two. We also we served friend dough with two sauces. Both were tasty but I think the green one was my favorite. We got the chicken vindaloo and it was very tasty. I would put a cautionary warning, it is very spicy. I’m Haitian and so I love spicy and this was right up my alley but if you’re a mild salsa kinda gal I would definitely order milk with it. Overall, the atmosphere was very calm and pretty. I really liked the decorations and light fixtures. The drink options pair well with the plates they offer as well. 10/10 I would recommend to my friends.“

“I am a vegetarian person who doesn't cook any meat nor boil eggs at home. I have a small puppy at home. I requested them to make me some boiled mince lamb with only tumeric for my puppy which they did give me even though they dont make it for pets. It was made w/o any spices,it was just plain boiled lamb with some tumeric. My puppy really enjoyed her meal. I really appreciate the helpful staff and the chef who went above n beyond to make my puppy happy. I always thought that they make only non vegetarian food but was surprised to see that they also make vegetarian food too. I am ordering Rajma chawal along with some chaats for me today. It'd going to be my favorite place going forward. Once again thank you for making my puppy n me so happy. Appreciate all staff who made it possible.❤❤❤❤❤“

“If you’re looking for an authentic Indian dining experience, NYC Tikka Masala is the place to go. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with decor that reflects the rich culture of India. Each dish bursts with carefully selected spices, expertly balancing flavors and bringing a true taste of Indian cuisine to the table.
The menu is extensive, but the Chicken Tandoori and Salmon Fish Curry are standout dishes. The Chicken Tandoori is expertly grilled, with a smoky aroma and juicy, tender meat that’s marinated in traditional spices. It has just the right amount of heat and a depth of flavor that makes each bite memorable. Meanwhile, the Salmon Fish Curry is a delightful surprise. The salmon is perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth, complemented by a sauce that’s rich with spices like cumin, turmeric, and coriander, giving it a warm, earthy flavor that lingers long after each bite.
NYC Tikka Masala is also impressively affordable, offering quality food at prices that don’t break the bank. For anyone who loves Indian cuisine or is trying it for the first time, this restaurant offers an authentic, flavor-packed experience without the high price tag. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a taste of India with genuine flavors and a great value for money.“

“I thought the food was pretty good. I normally don't eat buffets cuz I don't feel the quality is usually the same when you order a specific plate. But this was pretty good. And because it's buffet the price was really good compared to how much you could get. Overall I would do it again.“

“The food here is phenomenal. Really phenomenal. We have been to many Indian restaurants, and this (along with the other unapologetic foods group restaurant we've been to, Dhamaka--we have not yet been to the third, Semma) is uneqivocally the best. The dishes are crafted with care and subtlety. I am also a vegetarian, and the options for me are fantastic, though the meat options also seem exciting. It's a revelatory experience every time.“
