“Summary: Incredible sushi and an all around fantastic meal. We stopped here on a drive back to NYC and it turned out to be one of the best spontaneous food decisions we have made. The food was delicious, the staff was wonderful, and we would 100% recommend it.

We were passing through Newburgh and decided to stop in for a quick bite. Really glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, kind, and genuinely attentive. It set a great tone for the whole meal.

We ordered two specialty rolls and both were outstanding. The TNT was my personal favorite. Bold, well-constructed, and just delicious. The other roll, a shrimp tempura with sweet mango on top, was equally impressive. The mango added this perfect sweetness that balanced everything beautifully. The sweet potato tempura roll was also a great call and held its own alongside the more elaborate rolls.

Beyond the sushi, I had the Yaki beef noodles, which were really delicious and a nice complement to the rest of the meal. A great option if you want something a little heartier alongside your rolls.
We finished with mochi, which was the perfect way to close out the meal. Light, sweet, and just the right amount to end on a high note.

This place punches well above what you would expect for a stop along the way. Whether you are a local or just passing through like we were, do yourself a favor and stop in.“

“My family and I have been coming to Chopsticks in New Windsor for many years, and it’s one of those places we always look forward to. Don’t let the outside of the building fool you—it doesn’t come close to reflecting how incredible the food is. This is one of those hidden gems that you only truly appreciate once you’ve eaten there.

The sushi is off the charts. My personal favorite is the rainbow roll.The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and every order is made with care.

What keeps us coming back, though, is more than just the food. The staff are genuinely kind, welcoming, and treat their customers like family. It’s refreshing to find a restaurant that has stayed so consistent over the years.

“I called to ask if one of their dishes was gluten free, and the person who answered the phone was SO KIND! She took extra time on the phone with me and gave me a list of dishes that they prepare gluten free, and she told me she’d put a menu with my food to make ordering next time easier for me as they mark which of their meals are gluten free. I ordered the coconut chicken, and it was excellent!!“

“My husband and I come here almost every weekend, and without a doubt, one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is because of Mona. To say shes is awesome is truly an understatement! From the moment we walk in, she greets us with a warm smile and makes us feel genuinely welcome. She always remembers us, is incredibly attentive, and somehow manages to make every visit feel special.
Mona is the perfect example of what exceptional customer service should be. She's friendly, professional, patient, and always checks in to make sure everything is exactly how we like it. Even when the restaurant is busy, she never makes us feel rushed or forgotten. “We got to experience the restaurant to our selves on a late Sunday night. Place was clean. Staff was super friendly very accommodating to my picky 9 year old. The sushi was really good too. Highly recommend. I will be going back to test out the Hibachi.“

“The customer service is horrible, the front desk "warden" is very nasty. If you ask her a question she ignores you, all she is focused on is the money and not her customers. They raised their prices and took away the senior discount. The food is good although not always hot, they have a good variety. Whenever they have crabs you better bring your own utensil to crack them with or have a great set of teeth. They have a limited supply of crab crackers and ignore you when you ask for one. I am not particularly happy with the way they allow children to serve themselves. They should inform adults that they must accompany children to the servers. I actually saw a child eating out of the servers, wiped her nose with her hand like some children do and proceed to get food. its useless to bring it to the attention of the workers, they did nothing. Food good, service not so good. I waited months between visits...no change. Years ago it was a pleasure to visit.“
