“The kitchen is small, but the flavors are big at the Playhouse Cafe. It’s unbelievable what they are capable of creating — this is not your typical movie theater cafe. Great cocktails, a full coffee shop (my favorite place to work on the weekends while the kids catch a movie), the charcuterie board is fabulous, the muffaletta is my favorite sandwich. My kids love the tater tots and chicken fingers. Don’t miss the churro bites for dessert! Best of all — you never need a movie ticket to eat in the cafe, but if you are seeing a movie — you can bring your food/drinks into the theater. Sure beats regular popcorn!Also, trivia nights and live music are so fun — not to be missed!

Vegetarian options: Grilled vegetable wrap, fresh mozzarella sandwich, hummus platter, truffle pizza, arugula salad, grilled cheese, etc.

Dietary restrictions: They can do almost anything gluten free. They also have a lot of vegetarian and dairy-free options.

Parking: There is parking out front and along the side on the street, as well as in the parking lot behind the building.

Kid-friendliness: Chicken tenders, tater tots, quesadillas, pizzas, grilled cheese, pretzel bites, and more.“

“Popped in for a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday afternoon and we had no problem getting a table inside with good air conditioning on a hot late spring day. We had a friendly and efficient waiter. Our appetizers which we shared, the tuna tartare, and the chicken quesadilla, were both excellent. Two of us had the cheeseburger and we both asked for it to be done medium rare and unfortunately they came out well done. Disappointing. We were all too hungry too complain and/or send them back so we ate them as they were delivered. One person had the corn beef Reuben, which he enjoyed. Forgot to take pictures of the menu or the interior of the restaurant, but they did have a list of milkshakes which were very tempting, but we were too full to indulge.“

“Stopped during a quick visit in Katonah. Wife fell in love with their Sweet Cream Cold Brew and I thought their Latte was noteworthy. Had seating available both inside and outside, though it was a little messy. Will definitely stop back again.“

“Lots of tasty tidbits (and essentials) at this super cute market/cafe. Four tables and a couple of benches to eat in. They serve breakfast and lunch with mainly pre-packaged breakfast items, probably made elsewhere. My breakfast sandwich was excellent.“

The food did differentiate them a bit, and while it is still a bit beyond “just another coffee shop” the loss of food still stings in a town with already limited quick bite casual options.“

It was a “perfect night” that we shared with friends and family. All of the food was of fine restaurant quality and the staff was courteous and professioinal. “Smaller and a bit different of a vibe than other Panera’s — more white and less wood. Service was good but the parking lot was tight. My GPS told me to go in the back entrance to the lot which was confusing since it’s on the far corner from that back entrance and there isn’t room to turn around in the lot.Might want to be ready to get your food to go here rather than dining in.“
