I had an excellently crafted cappuccino and decided to try the gluten-free almond cookies (come in a package of 4). For those of you who are gluten-free or gluten sensitive, you know how difficult it is to find that perfectly delicious, made with love, delicacy. These are out of this world and have a full almond taste and are wonderfully chewy. A highly recommended respite for anyone looking for that perfect spot to enjoy your coffee or tea, and dive into a delectably home made perfection.“

“We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. “My family has made Bobo’s a staple of our weekly dining since we moved to Somers five years ago. The food is always consistent, the staff are friendly and attentive and make you feel like family.

My wife has Celiacs and Bobos has the best Gluten Free Chicken Cutlets in the area. We never have to worry about cross contamination as the staff is well trained in food allergy preparations.

I would recommend using their mobile app to order around lunch time as the place gets slammed midday and ordering ahead of expedites the lunch process.

Although not a kosher caterer, she worked with a certified kosher baker (who does not deliver direct to consumers in CT) and designed a beautiful inscription and decoration using Hebrew spelling I provided. The cake met every aesthetic, ritual, and gustatory requirement, and Christine could not have been more responsive and helpful!“

“They say never judge a book by its cover, well that couldn’t be more true for Lou’s Wagon (hot dog truck). On the surface, it’s a really small white box-truck that doesn’t appear to offer much. Rest assure, that is not the case. The food and service here was great. The two hotdogs with chili, cheese and cooked onions that I purchased were very tasty. The chili had just the right consistency and the cheese actually tasted like cheese. The bread wasn’t stale and the dogs didn’t taste like they’ve been sitting in boiled water for a week. The food was fresh. The lady running the hot dog truck was extremely welcoming, quick and courteous. For anyone looking for a quick bite and tasty hot dogs at a very affordable price compared to other food trucks I’ve stopped at, this spot is a winner. They also offer hot sausage, Dr. Browns soda, chips and cookies. The food spot is perfectly located right at the corner of an intersection just off 9A and Croton Dam Rd. Give them a try. “The kitchen is small, but the flavors are big at the Playhouse Cafe. It’s unbelievable what they are capable of creating — this is not your typical movie theater cafe. Great cocktails, a full coffee shop (my favorite place to work on the weekends while the kids catch a movie), the charcuterie board is fabulous, the muffaletta is my favorite sandwich. My kids love the tater tots and chicken fingers. Don’t miss the churro bites for dessert! Best of all — you never need a movie ticket to eat in the cafe, but if you are seeing a movie — you can bring your food/drinks into the theater. Sure beats regular popcorn!Also, trivia nights and live music are so fun — not to be missed!

The cafe has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and focus. There’s plenty of seating, the space is comfortable, and the coffee themed decor gives it a classic neighborhood cafe feel.

The iced coffee was excellent. Smooth, refreshing, and exactly what I needed for a productive afternoon. It had a rich flavor without being overly bitter, which is always a plus. You could say it really espresso-ed how a great coffee shop should do coffee.
