“We were in Tarrytown on vacation and stopped in. I love to pick up local goods to bring home and I was not disappointed. Patrons and staff were kind and efficient. The Witch’s Brew beans I brought home are wonderful, mild, and full of flavor. Can’t wait to break into the second bag of beans I bought.“

“This bakery alone is reason enough to move to Tarrytown! I live across the river but take the train to NYC occasionally, which was how I discovered this amazing cafe. First off, their almond croissant is absolutely the best in the world - as an almond croissant aficionado, I have tasted many many :-) - we buy them to take home wherever we pass through this station. Other items are of equal calibre in taste and quality. Most recently we sampled their savory biscuit, mushroom cheddar quiche and beef empanada, plus homemade lemonade. That was when we got the impulse to check out real estate prices in Tarrytown haha! Service is always friendly and attentive. The cafe is in the old defunct ticketing office/waiting hall, with a bathroom for all passengers (no purchase required for using the bathroom facilities). The entire place is artfully decorated and diligently kept pristine, hardly expected of a busy railway station. If you pass through this station, stop by this cafe/bakehouse for an unforgettable culinary experience!“

“The most amazing Nutella banana bread you will ever have. It’s addictive, as are their empanadas and iced coffee. The vibe is super chill and cozy and they have a cute courtyard in the back with outdoor seating. Deceptively larger inside than you would think! Angie the barista is extremely sweet and preps the order super fast. Check them out.“

“I went into the Fantastic Foods store in Norwood, NJ for the first time and was amazed at the international food sections, as well as the cooking classes they offer. The owner proudly introduced me to the products. Before I left, as I was at the register paying for the things that I had purchased, the owner asked me if I’d like to try the pecan pie. She noticed that I was cooking tempting it. It looked so incredible I wondered if it tasted as good as it looked. When I tried a piece, I was astounded at how delicious it was! I’ve never tasted anything quite like it! I’ve never had pecan pie, but this must’ve been a cut above the rest. The cinnamon flavor was divine, and I immediately ordered a piece for myself to go. When I got into my car, I couldn’t wait! I immediately devoured my delicious pecan pie. My father used to say it was his favorite but I bet he never had anything this good!! I wish he was around so I could share it with him but it made me happy to know that I now can share his joy! I immediately texted my friends to tell them about my experience! The owner tells me that they also serve crêpes. I can’t imagine how amazing they must be. I Highly recommend Fantastic Foods to anyone who is selective in their culinary taste and looks for international foods. I can’t wait to go back and bring my friends with me to have their desserts and pecan pie!!!!“

“We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. I say this as someone who has organized many events professionally over the decades. Donna Sullivan and Jean-Jacques are top notch.“
