I recommend it 100% and I admire the patience of the waitresses because the place is always full. They are very friendly. The difficult thing is. Some people who arrive at the place and do not wait to be seated nor do they care to sit at the dirty table and from there they want to be cleaned and served quickly, I do not understand why they do that and apart from that they get upset when the waitresses tell them they must wait. at the door to seat them and first I have to clean the table, I really admire the patience they have with this kind of people but otherwise it is an excellent place to eat with your family?“

“We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. “The restaurant is very unique and the food is very much outside the norm. I personally have enjoyed everything I've ordered. The service is great and very friendly, except for the Barista. I believe his name is Fernando and he's very rude and seems miserable every time I have to interact with him. He makes great coffee but is definitely suited for a job in the back of the house where he does not have to interact with customers.“

“Ordered four pupusas, two with beans and cheese and two with chicken and cheese, and 4 taquitos, two with carne and two with chicken. Not gonna lie I couldn’t tell which one was the chicken and which one was carne so that threw me off a little bit, but the food was pretty delicious. I wasn’t a big fan of la salsa roja, it was a little thin for me and honestly I don’t think we needed that much. But everything was solid. We had some leftover guacamole which rounded out the meal. Definitely recommend the pupusas! Also the best part, everything came out to just about $20, really solid price for the food in my opinion.“

“My boyfriend got me a cooking class as a gift here and it was so much fun! The class we signed up for was a four course meal, including Zuppa Toscana, Gnudi Pomodoro, Pollo Milanese, and Nutella Bomboloni. Not only did they teach us how to make these recipes, but also some general kitchen etiquette and techniques, so we really felt like (somewhat) professionals by the end of the class.

It was an intimate class, only us and one other couple so we were able to work together to prepare the food rather quickly. The food turned out delicious. They also have a wine, beer and cocktail menu to order from.

To go containers were provided as well because it is a lot of food made! I highly recommend a class — they told us they host birthday parties, as well as competition for other chefs that you could attend and judge too.“

However, they can only control so much of this, and they make up for it with the food. You will pay roughly $30 for a burrito, a smoothie, and any sort of coffee, but that being said, the quality backs up the price; I just couldn't justify it everyday.“

At one point, one in our party wanted coffee, so we decided to look around for a place for coffee, and found Cafe Nico's. The cappuccino was delicious, and I also had a flaky pastry filled with a vanilla custard sauce. Since the cafe is Italian, I cannot refer to it as a croissant. This is one of the few places that is cash only. I look forward to returning, the first chance I can.“
