“Nice place to stop in if you’re looking for a laid back environment. A very casual sit down restaurant. Love the rustic style design of the place. Beef burger is amazing. Fiancee got the bean stalk burger (which is typically a vegan option but asked for beef) and said it was delicious. Both burgers were cooked to what we requested. Also amazing fried pickles! Would recommend. Staff was very good, very efficient.“

“Best hamburger hotdog place that serves great beer near Hosfstra University. Every time I go with my wife to visit our son who is at Hofstra despite trying to go to different venues to grab a bite before we head back to Jersey. We always end up at black label because the food is so good, the service is great the people are very friendly and the service is quick. If you’re in Hempstead or Westbury and looking for a good burger, good hotdog in a simple atmosphere black label is my first choice.“

“Upset I had to write this review cause I love coming here! Normally, I get the burgers which have always been fantastic but today I decided to do something new and got the Thai salad with Shrimp. However, upon opening the container I see everything that’s listed on the menu EXCEPT THE SHRIMP? I thought to myself perhaps they misheard me and heard me say no shrimp, but it’s on the receipt. Now of course I under stand this was most likely a mistake and I’ll be wary next time to open my food in the restaurant to make sure everything’s there.

“Today was the first time we've ever ordered from Smashburger. I was intreged with the bogo burger deal and ordered from seamless. the burgers were still hot and juicy when they arrived and fries with garlic, rosemary and olive oil were honestly the best fries Ive ever had plus the Brussels sprouts were amazing!! “We placed an order for a smash burger without the cheese - the restaurant accidentally put cheese on it and I was quite upset because we confirmed it many times (lactose intolerance)… the person who helped me was super super nice, he re-made the entire order AND had it delivered to us for free, AND was nice enough to add courtesy drinks. Genuinely it felt it was really sincere an apology and I actually really appreciated that. Will definitely order from them again (maybe I’ll just check my order next time though). “Yesterday was my first day since they opened in west hempstead. I must say very sweet and great customer service . The chef was a doll even with a dental procedure she was laughing and making jokes with me. This restaurant for me was extremely very clean . My double impossible burger was delicious and tasty fries .“

“Went in for breakfast. Our server was decent. Walked away as I was finishing telling him my order, which came out ICE COLD & WRONG!!!! I requested a ham, COOKED/SAUTÉED ONION & American cheese omelet, fries and RYE toast with crispy bacon. My omelet was well done, the onions RAW, fries were ice cold my bacon was not cooked and not there had to tell the runner, and my toast was marble. All this for OVER &50.00!!! The server came by, we were basically finished. Asked how everything was. How would he or the runner know our order. Neither one looked at the order. NEVER AGAIN!!!“

When I 1st came inside I saw Mobile Orders and I didn’t realize they have Mobile Orders. I really love the Chicken Bites here they were so yummy. I really love the fries as well they were crispy and salty as well. This has got to be one of the best Hot Dogs that I ever tasted just like Nathan’s Famous. I’m definitely coming back soon. “Ok so I really do love the Salmon Kale salad! With that being said, $19.02 for this salad is a bit much. I remember when you used to get a small piece of bread (free) with this salad but that stopped a while ago. With Just Salad, Cava and Sweetgreen all looming and offering coupons, why not throw your committed customers a discount code once in a while for overpaying and returning lol? You do have a great product, but it is by far the most indulgent with regards to price point.“

The only problem is occasionally a very drunk, very loud, very short, very smelly stuttering patron comes in and ruins it for everyone.

He keeps telling everyone he is a celebrity 30 years ago, and is like 60, but hits on 20-somethings non-stop, brags about doing coke in the bathroom, etc. He ruins it. If you go in and you see this guy, leave.“

I buy about 5 chicken burgers a week from them, 4 out of 5 times they ARE a little tough, as they probably have been sitting out for a while.

The Spicy Hot Chicken Meal, is excellent. You just need lots of sauce for it, as it is dry rub. Great for the price.

Mashed potatoes are amazing, just wish there was more gravy, and the biscuits lacked flavor. But great consistency, temp and quality.“
