“I’ve been going here since I was little and boy have they always delivered, like if I had to choose best pizza place this would be it 100% only gripes I got are that sometimes the pizza is different like more cheese less sauce little issues every blue moon. My favorite dish here is the spaghetti and meatballs and if I had to choose taste this would be my equivalent of heaven on earth. Overall would eat here as long as I live within a 1 hour distance.“

“I’ve never been to a rodizio restaurant before, and I came up to Long Island to spend Easter and my birthday with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. It was by far the best experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant, the staff were professional, knowledgeable, efficient , the food is constantly hot. I would rate this restaurant at 10 star! “Rodney was one of the greatest waiters I’ve ever had in my life. From the moment we sat down, he brought the perfect mix of professionalism, energy, and genuine kindness. He was attentive without hovering, quick with recommendations, and somehow made the whole meal feel easy and fun. Drinks stayed full, food arrived smoothly, and every interaction felt personal instead of scripted.
What really stood out was his attitude. Rodney treated our table like we were important guests, not just another order during a busy shift. He anticipated needs before we asked, checked in at the right moments, and kept the vibe upbeat the entire time. Honestly, Rodney turned a casual Applebee’s visit into one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. Applebee’s is lucky to have him! Give that man some recognition, a RAISE, and maybe his own menu item. The manager and Rodney gave us some complimentary desert as well.“

“This place does mainly a takeout business, there are 3 small tables to wait in if desired, but it is noisy and there is a lot of Doordash/uber eats activity in and out, and for good reason: the food is consistently excellent and the quantity served makes it a terrific value. The salads are terrific and we love that you can not only get chicken souvlaki chunks or chicken gyro meat on salads or platters and both are terrific. Tzatziki - amazing. If you're a fan of baklava, theirs is better than most bakeries around. Spanakopita is also excellent. Think of it is restaurant quality but in takeout form. We absolutely love the guys who run the place, very friendly, very gracious. There aren't that many Greek places in Nassau that hit it out of the park for us, but these guys do, every time. Go!“

I have young kids and it’s just so easy to stop by for a few slices at a good price, especially with today’s economy. My wife and I recently experienced the joy of hosting my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner for seventy family members and out-of-town friends. We have been regular customers at Umberto’s Pizzeria for years, next door to the restaurant, getting our weekly Sunday or Monday night pizza pie. Nevertheless, we had never previously ventured into their restaurant next door. What a pleasant surprise ! What a smart decision to book the party here at the renowned Umberto’s of New Hyde Park. The second floor of the restaurant opens up into a spacious, light-filled, warm and welcoming room, big enough to feel like a proper celebration event space. There was plenty of room for our family and friends to mingle and even plenty of space for the several toddlers in attendance to sit and play, and run around. They enjoyed the party as much as anyone ! The catering menu provided a wide variety of choices from appetizers, salads, pastas and main courses from which our son and daughter-in-law selected from to satisfy the preferences of all of our guests. The food was delicious, as we’ve come to expect. Also, thank goodness each table received a Grandma’s Pizza. An affair at Umberto’s isn’t complete without a taste of the Grandma Pizza. The wait staff couldn’t have been any more attentive and solicitous. They were sensational. It’s obvious what a well managed team this is, kudos to Katy and Gaetano. Thank you Umberto’s for making this a most memorable affair. One minor note - The menu, to our surprise, doesn’t include dessert. What’s an Italian meal without a tiramasu, cannoli, or napoleon ?
