“THIS is the place to cater your next affair ! Don’t hesitate, book it now ! My wife and I recently experienced the joy of hosting my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner for seventy family members and out-of-town friends. We have been regular customers at Umberto’s Pizzeria for years, next door to the restaurant, getting our weekly Sunday or Monday night pizza pie. Nevertheless, we had never previously ventured into their restaurant next door. What a pleasant surprise ! What a smart decision to book the party here at the renowned Umberto’s of New Hyde Park. The second floor of the restaurant opens up into a spacious, light-filled, warm and welcoming room, big enough to feel like a proper celebration event space. There was plenty of room for our family and friends to mingle and even plenty of space for the several toddlers in attendance to sit and play, and run around. They enjoyed the party as much as anyone ! The catering menu provided a wide variety of choices from appetizers, salads, pastas and main courses from which our son and daughter-in-law selected from to satisfy the preferences of all of our guests. The food was delicious, as we’ve come to expect. Also, thank goodness each table received a Grandma’s Pizza. An affair at Umberto’s isn’t complete without a taste of the Grandma Pizza. The wait staff couldn’t have been any more attentive and solicitous. They were sensational. It’s obvious what a well managed team this is, kudos to Katy and Gaetano. Thank you Umberto’s for making this a most memorable affair. One minor note - The menu, to our surprise, doesn’t include dessert. What’s an Italian meal without a tiramasu, cannoli, or napoleon ? “I have been ordering from Stella's since my family moved to Bellmore two years ago. I've been to Stella's for dinner with the family, ordered delivery and even had them cater my parties. Stella's is consistently good. Fresh, flavorful food and attentive service. The baked clams and penne a la vodka are on point. My daughter loves their baked ziti. And the grandma pies are terrific. “Hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner here and we are SO glad did - everything was perfect! Everyone could not get over how delicious all the food was. Danny worked with us to create a menu that was tailored to us and our guests and we got SO much food included in the package we did. He also worked with us to create table arrangements that worked best for our event. I was worried at first that the space only being partially private and not a true private room would be an issue but it was not at all! We really didn’t need it and were happy to still get to enjoy the Sinatra singer that plays for the restaurant that night. He even came over and sang for our party and had us dance which was not expected but a fun surprise that we loved! Overall we had a great event here and I am so happy we chose them to host it!“

“The pan seared roasted chicken is amazing!!! My family and I found this place a few weeks ago. It's a beautifully decorated, clean and fairly new establishment with a very polite staff. My children have had the ravioli, the penne and the chicken fingers and each loved their meals. It's a hidden gem that we are happy to have found :)“

“We were traveling to the area from out of state for a family gathering, if we were going to Long Island I wanted real Italian Food. After research found this spot, made a reservation based on an estimate on when we would be getting into town.
Ended up being earlier than anticipated, called the restaurant they were able to accommodate my husband and I earlier. Along the way a family member was also getting into town and wanted to join us for dinner, they were able to adjust the reservation on the fly to accommodate us.
The wait staff was awesome. Explained the menu, specials.

“One of the best Italian restaurants in Lynbrook or anywhere else. They use the freshest and highest quality ingredients and prepare the food exquisitely. I ordered takeout tonight for six people in my extended family and served it family style, and everyone was raving about the food. We ordered Scallops Oreganato, Shrimp Stuffed with Crabmeat, Chicken Francese, Zuppe di Clams White Sauces and a few appetizers and it was all superbly prepared. Several of us were from other towns and repeatedly asked me how to find this place so they could visit in the near future.“

She made sure that our guests had a fresh drink before they even realized their drink was empty. The food was delicious and plentiful. “Our first time here, based upon reviews and vicinity to our home. While the food was tasty, hot and nice portions, the service was terrific the overall atmosphere was lacking. It was excessively loud, small and cramped dining area. The seating should have been about 25 not the sqeezed in seating of 36, when we sat to ate.
I recommend reservations, like we had, to sit for dinner, even on a Sunday.
My wife had the pear & walnut salad, the fusilli pasta & sausage and Italian (made in-house) cheesecake. All were great. I had the watermelon & feta salad, salmon piccata with veggies and pistachio Gelato.

It is average market priced.
Clean environment, and bathroom, but the kitchen door to the dinning room should have remained closed.
