“We’ve experimented with many different bake shops and literally nothing has come close to the goodness at Catalina’s bake shop. It’s a little further for us than all the other bake shops near us, but it’s worth the trip every single time. We originally discovered this place when I needed a cake for my daughter’s birthday which came out absolutely beautiful and was the best tasting cake we have ever. Now it’s also our spot for occasional treats. You can tell the owner/baker is extremely passionate about what they do and it’s what makes everything so good!“

Rainbow sherbet and chocolate chocolate chip both hit the spot.Good value for the cones and the ice cream was good. “One of the best wedding vendors we worked with was Chef Mike at Pure Sugar Inc. From start to finish, he was an absolute pleasure to work with and made all of our wedding cake dreams come true!!! Starting with our cake tasting at Pure Sugar, Chef Mike set up such a wonderful experience for us and each flavor we tried was better than the next! It was nearly impossible to decide. He allowed us to include multiple flavors in our cake which I was thrilled about. When it came time for our wedding, he completely outdid himself. When we asked for a certain ruffle technique to be used on our cake, he went out of his way to practice and make sure that it was exactly what we wanted, and it was!! We got SO many compliments on how stunning the cake was and then on how delicious it was. We have been to so many weddings where the cake is just blah, or no one eats it, etc. People went out of their way to eat this cake because of what a show stopper it was and because of everyone talking about it! A few years back, the son vin took over and vamped it up a little.They offer some delicious cakes, pasties, and baked goods. The seven layer and mouse cakes are our favorite.They also have some great coffee at a nice price.They have monthly specials that feature certain cakes, loafs, and coffee.Everyone who works here is super nice and helpful.Overall, it's a nice wholesome bakery to try if you're in the area.“

“Ouch! Not sure if this Carvel is under new management, or if some people just live to throw shade (y'all realize that one star is like getting a 20 on a test, right? Or is that too much math for you?) I will say that I can't comment on their cakes. I do know that when it comes to ice cream cake, not all Carvels are the same, not even close. We've used the Carvel in Plainview for cakes, but if all we want is some ice cream, we hit the Greenlawn Carvel. We've been to this Carvel location more than a few times, and everyone's happy with both the soft-serve, and the "hard" ice cream. I don't really have much else to add, what more can you say about an ice cream shop? 4 out of 5, extra star for being in the same strip mall as Deli 51, who doesn't love Deli 51.“
