“Great local restaurant with a ton of options on the menu. The food was unanimously amazing, the service was pleasant, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. My wife and I split the Bandeja Paisa platter and it was so much food we had a full serving left over to bring home. My toddler’s cheese quesadilla was delicious. “Awesome place, clean and customer friendly. The supermarket/restaurant has a variety of fresh fish which you can ask the staff to have them cook it for you. In my case, i asked them to cook the Dora fish which was very tasty. You can aslo ask for side dishes to go with it, i had fried plantains. The restaurant portion also had a variety of Latin dishes (Colombian, Peruvian etc) which are also fresh and so tasty. I had the black rice mixed with seafood (shrimp, calamari and pieces of fried fish)“

“Wonderful experience dining at the new Arlo restaurant. The renovation is absolutely incredible. You want to walk around just to admire how beautiful it all looks. The food and service was next level - reminding us of what you’d experience in NYC. Our guests raved about their duck entree, their boeuf bourguignon pot pie was outstanding, the oysters were fresh and delicious, great craft cocktails, and outstanding waitstaff. We each had the Grilled Salmon, Lobster and Shrimp Trio with Mashed potatoes loaded with Lobster Sauce on top and a side of their broccolli which was insanely delicious!!! The food was absolutely amazing and so were the drinks!! But the star of the show was the staff our waitress Emily was the best we have ever had! Just the right amount of attentive that we never looked for her and always felt taking care up. The busser also did an amazing job never a dirty plate on our table. We go out alot and I can’t remember the last time a restaurant covered it all flawlessly Service drinks and food. We have already texted friend excited to bring them here! “BEST TACOS ON THE NORTH SHORE. We stumbled into Ditch solely by chance and we are so happy we did. It’s a breath of fresh air for a rather stale Main Street in PJ. Very beachy vibes, feels more south shore LI than snobby north shore which is probably why I love it so much. The menu has a little bit of everything and everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. We ordered tacos, five different tacos so we could try a bit of everything. From the perfect corn tortilla to the pineapple toppings, everything was fresh and delicious. The owner Tracy came over to welcome us to his new spot and express his gratitude for giving the new spot a chance. Our server Brennan was working a busy lunch shift mostly solo and he still delivered a top notch experience. Very happy with our new discovery and we can’t wait to go back!“

“On the advice of a friend who regularly visits Fire Island, our family of eight, including a four-year-old and an infant, had an amazing dinner experience at Albatross tonight. I was somewhat apprehensive because the restaurant's Google rating was lower than that of another restaurant where we had had a disappointing lunch the first day of our stay. So I wanted to write my five-star review as soon as possible.

Our positive experience began when we dropped by during the afternoon to get the hostess's advice on how to procure a table for eight people -- without a reservation! -- on a busy Saturday night. She told us that if we came before 6:00 they would probably be able to accommodate us.

This is exactly what happened. When we arrived we were immediately seated at a comfortable table near the window. The attentive waitstaff quickly took our drink orders and, shortly thereafter, our meal orders.

I was worried that our small children might become difficult while we ate two courses (starters and a main course). However, our server brought our starters quickly, and the main course soon after clearing our dishes from the first course. The timing was perfect!

The food was perfect, too. I enjoyed my New England clam chowder, one of the best versions I've tasted. The table shared top-notch oysters, steamers, fried calamari, and Buffalo wings. Our mains, which included grilled fish, linguine with white clam sauce, and penne with vodka source and grilled shrimp, were uniformly excellent, with quality ingredients and preparation. For example, the grilled broccoli that accompanied my barramundi was so flavorful that it transcended the norm for this standard vegetable.

With our meal we enjoyed a bottle of white wine at a fair price.

This review may sound too favorable to be true, but it accurately describes our experience. I recommend Albatross wholeheartedly.“

“We had a Mothers Day celebration Sunday at this fabulous seafood restaurant. There were 15 of us- 9 adults and six children between 5 and 12. We traveled an hour to get there. The food was delicious- fresh, tasty and the portions were so large that everyone took a doggy bag home. It was served by a great staff including Angel who was our server. The owner, Donna, was very cordial and friendly. Everyone had a great time. We can't wait for our next family dinner to return. This is a must restaurant if you are a seafood lover!!“

And here is a secret...It was affordable. The food was incredible and plentiful. Great Chefs. Another secret...add the raw oyster station. We went with 100% out of doors and it was spectacular. Fits 100 easily. Places for shade and sun and a great gazebo for the ceremony. We can't recommend it more. We did our wedding but this could have been a 50th birthday just as easily. Another secret is bring your own acoustic player for the music. We had a friend play and it really set the mood for the day. So, The View in Oakdale is a perfect spot to start a life together, party for someone reaching a milestone or hell, just a great happy hour with friends on the water.“

This trip (our third) was much better than the previous two. It looks like the full menu is available now even during lunch hours. The hot lobster roll remains the only one on the menu, but it is good. Oyster raw bar was good. Burger was good, cooked to the preferred temp. Still no fruit in the sangria (ordered the special pumpkin sangria) but there was ice! No live music (late season in October), but they had music playing at a reasonable level.

We'd continue to come back.

Original Review (1 Star service, 1 star atmosphere (due to music), 2 star food):
DJ brunch I guess. Music was looouuud and a crappy selection, but when we got there, seemed like the crowd was two decades older.

Anyway, before heading there I called to make sure of two things:

1. They still had transient slips as we were coming by boat
2. They had a cold Maine lobster roll as my wife had been craving one for weeks.

The answer to both was yes.

We tie up and get seated, about 1:40pm. Probably close to 10 minutes before anyone comes over to take drink orders. 2:13pm, still no drinks but Amanda comes to take our food orders, which we put in for baked clams and two lobster rolls. She asks if it's OK to put it in at the same time because it might all come out at the same time. Really? We said no.

2:24pm drinks arrive.

Sangria looks like red wine, no ice. No fruit. Apparently you have to ask for that. Bloody wasn't very good. Seemed like alcohol plus watered down tomato juice and horse radish.

2:26pm app comes out. Six of the smallest baked clams I've ever seen ($19). So 44 minutes before drinks, 46 minutes for app.

Lobster rolls arrive 15 minutes later. They were hot lobster rolls. What a disappointment.

Amanda never showed up after taking the food orders. She came when we were done with the rolls. Asked for the check, paid and left.

The old Seagull was nothing spectacular, but after this experience, it is missed ...“

“Exactly what you want from a beach bar / restaurant. Great music playing, a nice breeze blowing through the open windows, and a bartender / owner knows how to mix humor and sarcasm perfectly. The drinks are delicious, the prices are reasonable, and it’s just a stones throw to a beautiful beach. The bartender went out of his way to help me find beach chairs as well. Absolutely loved this place and so happy we stopped in for lunch and a drink.“

“I threw a surprise 60th birthday party here over the weekend and it was wonderful. I am so glad I went with this location for the event. We had an indoor cocktail party, it was awesome. Gorgeous venue with a beautiful view. Kayla, Darlene and Vanessa worked the party and they were the best! Lots of my guests gave me compliments about the staff, on how pleasant and attentive they were. It is stressful to organize an event like this and they really put me at ease and made sure that not only my guests, but also I had a good time.
