“We got married here this past week on 5/1/25, and I don't think there are enough nice things I can say about Whitby Castle. Niki and Ralph made everything so unbelievably easy for us the entire time from booking to the days after our wedding. Roxy was my bridal attendant, and she made sure my husband and I were never without a drink. They brought all our cocktail-hour food upstairs for us so we could eat in peace and relax. Niki was so easy to communicate with for the entirety of the planning process. Every single question we asked of Ralph, who doubled as our maître d’, got answered and was perfect. We had so much fun at our reception, and it was so helpful to have Ralph there guiding and directing us every step of the way. It was so easy to coordinate dropping off and picking up all of our decor the week of the wedding. There were so many details, which can be overwhelming on your wedding, but with Roxy, Ralph, and Niki (and the entirety of the staff!!) everything was so seamless and like a well oiled machine. I am so unbelievably appreciative of everyone at this venue and cannot recommend Whitby Castle enough!!“

“We are full-time wedding photographers who did not have the pleasure of working at the Glen Island Harbour Club until January 2025. Winter weddings can be tough if you are not at an iconic location with extensive interiors conducive to photography meant to maximize the natural and ambient light, but in this case, it was perfect! The bridal suite was stupendous and the guys had a perfect place to get ready, too. All the areas had a lot of daylight considering it was the darkest time of the year and were elegantly furnished. The spaces all complimented the chosen scarlet red and classic tux look. We went outdoors for a bit despite the cold and windy day and loved the views of the water. Everywhere we went the staff was perfect for our couple, their family and friends, and us as vendors. We had scouted the venue beforehand, but we did not realize just how much room we’d have to work with - especially getting ready, taking spectacular shots on the staircase and in the lobby, during the ceremony even with so many guests, and for the reception with a huge dance floor. The food during cocktail hour was absolutely amazing with seemingly limitless options for everyone. The venue staff made sure we had a nice meal as well while checking in on the little things we love such as ensuring we’re set for the entrances and knew the itinerary for the reception. And again, this was our impression during the most difficult time of the year! I cannot imagine how extraordinary the property is during warm seasons, but we hope to find out soon. While this is written from the perspective of a small business owner, this is an unbiased and unsponsored review, and we appreciated the sensational first visit with hopefully many more to come. I was in search of a great chef to come to our home and cook a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my husband and came across Chef Abyssinia with a Google search that turned up with many 5-star reviews. I called immediately and was fortunate she was available. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and if I could give more than a 5-star review I would. She is a warm, friendly, and incredibly talented chef who takes great pride in her work as was displayed by the preparation and deliciousness. I would go as far as saying it was one of our top 5 meals ever and we are big foodies. We went with the 4-course option that included Scallops Au Gratin, Winter Salad, Maple Glazed Salmon & Chocolate Mousse. We tasted the freshness and love with every bite. “Excellent take out home cooked meal style food. I love and buy the salmon piece which is huge and is $8. I also get chicken cutlets for the kids. The cabbage and side items also look good but I just add at home a side and the meal is done. Also the coffee is my favorite in the neighborhood. Muffins melt in my mouth particularly the corn and chocolate chip. They should have more chocolate chip or maybe not bc I would buy and eat it more. There food is great home cooked style for a FAIR price. I’m so glad they are in my neighborhood.“

We were treated like family the minute we walked through the door and Les & Marty made all our dreams come true, like two proud Jewish uncles!! “This location i have come to a few times. It has progressively become better and better.
The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and quite, while there is a great social bar, with very nice accomodationimg staff and the downtown has become much better than it use to be that this hotel is right within.

Only downside I've experienced is the up charge fee for late checkout. Normally around the world a late checkout there is not a secondary charge of you request up till 1-2pm. Unfortunately this hotel is going with the US trend of charging consumers for needing a later checkout even if you checking at 11pm bc of late travel etc.. Only down on have to say, but hotel it top notch“
