“Ok, maybe I shouldn’t have picked marathon Sunday to finally hit up Frankel’s—it was packed! But what a great spot. I love their creative breakfast sandwich options, and the vibe was pure NYC energy. I got the pastrami, egg, and cheese on a challah bun, and it was exceptional. Perfectly balanced, rich, and just messy enough in the best way. 10 out of 10. I’ll definitely be back.“

“We stumbled upon this deli on Maps, and we are very happy we did! We tried a cream cheese and lox bagel, a Times Square sandwich and a Caprese Panini, all of them delicious!!! The staff was very nice and welcoming to us, they even suggested a few things to try - thank you Mikey for making our amazing food 💗
Will come back again :)“

“Walked in the bitter wind and cold for these bagels, and we were not disappointed! Great selection of bagels and cream cheese. We ordered quick, and although full and small, the tables turnover quickly. Our bacon, egg, cheese on an everything bagel was exceptional. Great bite. Fresh eggs and crispy bacon. Coffee good too, although not an extensive coffee list. Will be back!“

“We come here every time we’re in NY to eat breakfast. Then come back to get a couple dozen to take home. My fiancé is from Long Island born and raised but we always drive to Brooklyn because the food and service are that good! Cool neighborhood as well.“

“What a great gem! The local bagel shop has wonderful bagels and spreads. You order on the right side lane, wait, then when they call your order, you come up to the counter to pay. They accept both cash and credit card.
Usually there is a line on Saturday or Sunday morning, but it’s calm any other time.“

“Quintessentially Brooklyn. The crew here is incredibly friendly and fosters a warm, cheerful environment to enjoy the bagels, wraps, coffee and more that they serve. The food rarely disappoints. Such a benefit to our community — they clearly care about the wellbeing of our neighborhood and take pride in their work.“

“Came down from Canada and stopped for breakfast. Immediately bought bagels to cram into my luggage and bring home.
I got the lox avocado on everything. It was wonderful.
Very nice to be able to eat inside the restaurant, plenty of seating.“

“One of my biggest things I do is when I go out of town is I always look for something local. And right next-door where I was going to be was my favorite bagel. I figured I’ll go get a bagel and a drink. Well I walked in there, and there was all different types of pizza there there was a salad bar on the other side and then there was a bakery got a piece of pizza. I don’t know what kind it was but let me tell you something from where I am in New York this was nothing like it. The pizza was out of this world. I give it five stars or even 10 stars if I could really good food definitely will go back again.“

“I’ve been coming here on and off for probably close to 25 years. It’s definitely one of the best, if not the best breakfast spot in the neighborhood. The prices are high though and still going up. A bacon, egg and cheese bagel is $7. A raisin bagel with cinnamon cream cheese is $3.75; I think it was $2 just a few years ago.The bagels aren’t the big ones you see in some spots so it’s a quick snack. I can’t justify those prices since my favorite bodega is charging $5 for the bacon, egg and cheese.
The sandwiches are a better value cause you’re getting more than double the food for less than twice the price. I like the “Italian Sub” and “The Russian” for $12. I tried the “Tuna Delight” on a hero today for $10 and it’s more justified than the bagel prices. They charged .50 just to add onions which is kinda lame. Sandwich shops don’t do that unless it’s something like roasted red peppers.
Lastly, they surcharge 3.75% to pay by card. I work in credit card processing so I understand more than most how thin the margins are for a small business. I urge most of my clients to do the same to be more profitable (pass the fees to the customer), but when you’re also charging extra just to add onions it gets to a point where you gotta call out being cheap. Sorry.
It’s still a very good local spot to grab a bite. The place is packed even at 6:30 am. The pictures are the Italian Sub, bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, raisin bagel, and the Tuna Delight.“

“Good small local shop. Nice place to come by and grab breakfast.
The food is pretty good but service can be a little slow if you are in a hurry because busy crow in the morning. While the crow also keeps the vibe up. Overall good bagel shop.“

“Topping I liked the most was the tomato. They somehow got the tomato to be savory and taste/feel like an egg. Coming in second is the smoked salmon. I wouldn’t get the white fish since it’s too salty.
The place was spacious and the line moved quickly for a Sunday morning.
We went to this bagel place twice this trip just for that tomato. The first time the bagel was perfectly crispy, second time less so. I’d ask them to brown it a little more next time“

“Took Italian hero sub before a party.
Fresh and loaded, decent price, i like to eat a lot, and I gobbled a half before the party and was good to go. I went savage after the party for the second half of my hero sub.
All you can ask from a place like that“

“Proof that the best bagels and in the city really do exist outside of Manhattan. Came here yesterday morning for the first time at it felt so nostalgic to be in a classic NY bagel shop. Staff was kind and enthusiastic and my bagel sandwich was great.“

“I don’t live anywhere near here but whenever I am around and I gave time to stop, I stop and have a bit here at SHM Bagel & Coffee Shop.
What I like most about it, is the food. I feel like my mom, dad or one of my Aunties made it and I feel like I’m with them chillin’ and eating. It brings back memories.
Besides that, the owner is kind and friendly and so are the workers. This place if clean and smells clean. It’s a spot where there’s no real fanfare but I like that because, once inside, you have some chairs, a few tables and a two stool window seat option. However, there is a long radiator there so, if you sit to the side, things will work out for you eating over there.
They have a nice assortment of cold beverages and food options. Again, the place is clean and I feel confident eating here.
Great job and thank you, SHM B&CS!!“

“We stopped for sandwiches. Amazing!!! It's kinda an art to make a sandwich correctly, the blend of everything should be the right way. Bagels were very fresh and tasty and all the chosen items were assembled in the correct amounts, which made the sandwiches taste phenomenal!
Service was courteous. Thank you! We'll definitely be back!“

“The bagels are really good. I grew up out of NY. We had bagels we thought were good. Then I came to NY and realized what bagels were supposed to taste like. Bagel Hole bagels are top notch. Of the best kosher bagels in NY. The sandwiches are good, service is slow and that could be due to demand and they need to focus on consistently cleaning the restaurant. They improve their speed and clean consistently, I change my rating to a 5.“

“My wife needed four dozen bagels, three pounds of cream cheese, and a box of coffee for a school event in Manhattan. I called in the order, in a half hour the order was ready and got a courtesy call from them. She went to pick up the order. The employees was very nice and polite. They help her load the order in her car. The bagels was good and fresh and will continue to patronize the establishment.“

“Chewy Brooklyn bagels made the right way, meaning they don't just taste like round bread. All the typical toppings, reasonable (for NY) prices. It's our go to spot when we want a bagel. Google wants me to review the atmosphere. It's a bagel shop located right across from the elevated section of the F line. It's clean, it's bright, it's unpretentious, it sells bagels.“

“Always stop here when i visit my mom! A bakers dozen of everything to go and one sesame bagel with whitefish salad and tomato to eat immediately! even if i just ate or am not really hungry lol.
Bagels are nice and hard on the outside and chewy on the inside. It almost like they are toasted but they are not. They are a good size. The whitefish salad is slightly sweet to me but I like it.
Price is comparable to other bagel places in Brooklyn.“

“Very good bagels but a bit overpriced like every bagel place in nyc.
I ordered everything bagel and lox cream cheese for $7 because adding lox would have been way too expensive so the cream cheese is a good alternative and the taste is quite strong.
Service was very good.
There are a few sits in front of the shop but no interior sitting available.“

Truth is, I came in all the way from New Jersey to get a shakshukah at Brooklyn Bagel, I wish I was able to find in new Jersey such a good shakshukah, and by far. It was worth the trip.
This place is awesome, and worth a trip from literally anywhere.
Keep it up and good luck
P.S. try Try the shakshukah.“

“I’ve honestly never experienced such incredible staff and ownership at a restaurant—anywhere. My 4.5-year-old daughter and I stopped into Atlantic Bagels during yesterday’s snowstorm and ended up feeling like we were in someone’s home, not just a bagel shop.
The owner, cook, and entire staff were unbelievably kind, generous, and thoughtful. We were stuck inside waiting out the storm, and they went out of their way to make it fun and welcoming for my daughter—playing with her, talking with her, and making her feel special. They even gave us a free bagel while we waited, which meant more than they probably realized.
At one point, the owner jokingly told my daughter she could come back and work there someday—and she hasn’t stopped talking about it since.
This is exactly what an amazing Brooklyn small business should look like: fantastic food, a genuinely welcoming environment, and people who truly care. The team took over the shop in 2024 and completely renovated and refreshed it, and while some older Google reviews carried over, this is absolutely a five-star establishment today.
I can’t recommend Atlantic Bagels highly enough. Go support them—you’ll be glad you did.“
