“I visited Other Half Brewing while I was in Brooklyn and absolutely loved it! The vibe is super chill with a nice mix of locals and visitors. The IPAs are some of the best I’ve ever had, really fresh and full of flavor. The taproom has a cool industrial feel and it’s dog-friendly too, which I loved. Perfect spot to hang out with friends or just relax with a great beer. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Brooklyn! 🍺“

Endless Life Brewing Brewery • $$
52 34th St, Brooklyn

“I stopped by Endless Brewing Company in search of their Kölsch style beer “Construed to waste your time”. The Kölsch was everything it should be crisp with a light yellow hue and served at a perfectly chilled temperature to bring out its best flavor. Best I’ve have had outside of Cologne Germany. Endless Life Brewing in located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn and has been set up with its neighborhood in mind. The perfect place to come and sit with friends for a chat or play couple games. Their back patio is softly lit and has picnic tables perfect for night of catching up and maybe grabbing a small bite. I had their homemade mac and cheese and I swear they had my grandmother in back making it.“

Eckhart Beer Co. Brewery •
545 Johnson Ave, Brooklyn

“I can’t rave enough about this place. The beer, of course, is fantastic. I lived in northern Europe and I love true traditional German pilsners. Most craft brewers make something they call a pilsner, but many miss the mark, making a bland light beer. Eckhart has made possibly the best German pilsner I’ve had in the states. It’s got all the subtle flavors, high notes, crisp and sharpness, depth – truly delicious and very much the paradigm of the style. Even though Eckhart doesn’t specialize in IPAs, they also make a terrific straight-ahead old-school IPA, and when we were there, they had a smokey rye beer which was unlike any other beer I’d had, and was delicious. Bonus - the food here is actually really great. We had: brotzeit – which is a platter of meats and sauerkraut and pickled veggies, and was divine; kartoffelpuffer – which is basically the world’s greatest tater tots; a delicious cucumber salad; and the “deluxe” house-made potato chips and dip, with boquerones, pickled chilis and creme fraiche – all totally amazing. I also suggest that if you can score a booth, go for it. We were in a booth and it was really cozy and nice to be able to have a conversation without shouting. So happy to have the place nearby. Definitely one of my new favorites.“

Strong Rope Brewery Red Hook Brewery • $
185 Van Dyke St, Brooklyn

“Only stumbled across this because I wanted to have a drink with a friend who was sailing on the Queen Mary 2 the next day.

There's nothing fancy about it, but, as a brewery, they actually have a good craft beer list and the bartender was happy to tell you about the offerings. The Storyteller Imperial Stout was excellent, and I'm admittedly hard to please.

Even better than the beer is the view from the tables outdoors, which features the Statue of Liberty. Worth a visit by itself.“

Five Boroughs Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
215 47th St, Brooklyn

“Wow, First sip of the gridlock hazy IPA made me snap to! Was not expecting the substantial mouth feel from this hazy IPA with a great balance of oat malt and grapefruit hop. I expected it to be lighter. But it almost felt creamy. Not heavy, but much more mouth feel than I’m used to when I’m not drinking an imperial/double ipa.

This IPA delivers. I’m buying in Long Island supermarkets and this baby was in ShopRite! 🙏 This one will join my rotation.“
