“Service is always great. But the quality of the veggie burger has gone downhill :( They use a different type of veg patty now that isn't as tasty. And always seems to be very overcooked or undercooked to the point that it's inedible. I really hope they bring back the old ingredients because it used to be my fav dish to order!“

“Great neighborhood tavern in Red Hook that we stumbled across while visiting family. The staff were so friendly. The blueberry cornbread was amazing, and they turned up the volume on the TV when Jeopardy came on. Love this place.“

“I just recently moved back to Bay Ridge after years away. Going into Bean Post I was welcomed and felt right at home on my 1st visit. The Food is fantastic and the mixed drinks they know how to pour them in Brooklyn. They offer fantastic meals especially there Thanksgiving meals you can pick up. My girlfriend had major surgery about 2 weeks ago. It was not possible for us to cook a Thanksgiving meal. WE ordered 2 Thanksgiving meals and the portions were amazing and a value we could not find anywhere else. The Turkey Dinners we purchased and the joy we had sharing Thanksgiving together with our dinners from Bean Post made it a Wonderful Holiday. We are now looking forward to ordering Christmas dinners from Anthony and his family. They treated us well. THANK YOU!“

“Best fries ever! The burgers use to be good... Idk if the changed management or workers but, definitely not the same as a year ago when I first came here. Vegetables are not fresh & not enough quantity. I had to ask for a good amount of veggies on my burger since the last time I went there all they gave me was a leaf of lettuce (the core!) & 3 strips of onions. Ps Spicy mayo sauce is good“

“Drove an hour just to come here for Premier League Morning. The bar was packed, drinks were flowing and the staff was having a grand time with patrons. Ordered the fish and Chips and a Heineken, my buddy got the Full Irish Breakfast, some wings, and a couple beers. The Cod beer batter was fantastic, super crispy fish that melts in your mouth. The buffalo sauce on the wings was also tasty. Prices are great for cash customers as well. My only negative is that when the door keeps opening the place starts FREEZING especially at the bar area but quickly warms up again when closed. Honestly a gem of a sports bar.“

“I love a dive and this place provided! Aisling was phenomenal; she was constantly busy, yet consistently on top of everyone’s drink orders. She’s incredible!! Although I’m not a local, I was welcomed and treated as one. I can’t wait to visit again! Promised I’d be back, and I don’t break my promises. See you all soon :)“

“I hosted the after party for my wedding at Lavender Lake and it did not disapoint. The space was huge and affordable for a semi private area. They even had a DJ there that night who was so much fun. I highly recommend this space if you need to host a party in the area!“

“Great chill spot with chill bartenders and other patrons. Single cash payment pool table is amazing. Two fun old school game machines. Always cool and never hot inside during these summer days. Today is almost 90 degrees and it's nice inside of Denny's! One large big screen TV's on the opposite side of the bar and two medium sized TV's facing the bar which are all great and perfectly placed. Cool dart board game available as well. Atm machine that always comes in clutch for me as this is a cash only bar which is my preferred method of payment anyways at bars. In addition to the great atmosphere they sell delicious pretzels, pizz, a great selection of beer with the Lagunitas IPA in a chilled glass from a perfectly temperatured tap as my go to and a great liquor selection. Bringing outside food is very welcomed as well.“

“Union Hall is one of the best venues we have ever performed at. Not only is it a fun and charming place, the staff are super hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. From planning to execution, Nora and Neel were very courteous and helpful. On the day of, Erin, Neel, and even the security guard Danny let us in an hour before our contract stated and helped us get set up early. Nothing but compliments and recommendations for these guys!“

“(Nov 2014) Uber cool high tech mod fitout and no shortage of opinionated beer nerds (complete with obligatory cult brewery t-shirts). Even at 2pm on a Sunday arvo. Doesn’t quite have the warm of a traditional US bar but still pretty friendly. Very international list with a focus on left of centre. Pricing on the high side but reflects the quality of the beers. Served via cabernet glasses - a nice touch. I really grew to like the place and they use a small space well. Can I say it reminds me of Two Row in Melbourne? And....btw....the only other bar I have ever seen where punters are punching out tasting notes!“

“Been coming here for over 10 years. Prices are reasonable and bartenders are friendly. Generally draws an older crowd but there's usually a mix. There's a dartboard, jukebox and several tvs. Doesn't serve food but outside food is allowed.“

“I stopped in to have a couple of drinks prior to going to see the Christmas lights in the neighborhood.

This is such a great little cash only dive bar in Dyker Heights. My bartender (whom I didn't get his name) was fast and friendly. I got a couple of Bloody Mary's as that is one of my main cocktails, and they were very simple and tasted great.

I really liked the vibe of this bar where it wasn't too noisy with loud music. They also have several TVs displayed if you want to watch a game.

The prices for drinks are super cheap as my Bloody Mary's only costs $8. As far as food goes, I believe the only food offering they have is pizza.

Overall, I definitely like this place, and I will most certainly stop in again for a drink or two or three the next time I am in the area.“

Around me, patrons conversed in tones both lively and congenial. Gentlemen in neat attire and ladies dressed with elegant restraint filled the room with a hum of pleasant discourse. It was neither rowdy nor dull, but rather possessed of that rare equilibrium which makes one feel part of some modestly grand occasion.

While the establishment bears the hallmarks of quality—and no doubt commands prices reflecting such—it does not wear its refinement heavily. Instead, it welcomes the visitor and encourages him to linger. Indeed, I found myself in no hurry to depart. Yet I would advise future callers to arrive early or secure a favorable seat, for the stools at the counter, though handsome, may offer limited comfort for those intending to tarry long.

In sum, my visit was most satisfying. I should readily recommend this house to any traveler seeking a well-crafted libation, courteous company, and an atmosphere conducive to both conversation and quiet reflection. Should I assign it a measure of distinction, I would bestow upon it a most respectable mark—near excellent, wanting only a few minor considerations to reach perfection.“

“North Pole Pub is a good spot to hang out before a Liberty game or any event at Barclays. It’s usually not too crowded, so you can easily grab a seat, have a drink, and catch some sports on the big screen. They’ve got good beer-and-shot combos and even serve herring, a fun touch you don’t see everywhere.

Overall, it’s a laid-back, unpretentious bar that’s great for a pre-game stop or a quiet drink if you’re in the neighborhood.“

“My buddy and I wanted to play some darts. We suck at darts. We walked into Moot and there was a league dart game going on. We instantly thought a couple of dart schlubs like us wouldn't be the most welcome on league night. We couldn't have been more wrong. Every single person in the bar was friendly and enthusiastic that more folks wanted to play darts. They let use the practice board with the house darts and we had a great time. This is exactly the type of neighborhood bar you want on every corner. Couldn't have been better!“

“This is a nice little hole in the wall kind of bar. I was craving a burger, so I stopped here for a quick bite and drink. Trust me, the bacon cheeseburger did not disappoint and the fries that come with the burger are the bomb.

I don't understand some of the negative reviews about the service because I thought the service here was really good. The bartender was friendly and attentive and my food came out fast in spite of the place being busy.

Even though the place is small and a tad dark, they have several electronic games along with a dart board to keep the patrons occupied. They have a good sized menu with reasonable pricing and the establishment is clean.

Since I live in the area, I will be sure to stop in again in the near future.“
