“This is the best food in Troy. Everytime I go the food is absolutely amazing and ive never ordered the same thing twice, because I want to try everything! The owners really care about quality, great flavor, and their customers and they show it in every dish. The coffee is also really great, coffee cake and raspberry white chocolate are my go tos. The line should be out the door every day! The owners are also the nicest people, I usually see Joey when I go in and he is so friendly and really want to make every experience you have great. Skip the long line across the street and have the best breakfast youve ever tasted, everything on the menu is delicious !“

“This is by far my favorite coffee shop in Telkwa and Smithers. I probably spend far too much money then I should here, but I absolutely love it. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is great, and don't even get me started on the coffee and the food. I don't know if I've had anything that I didn't like from here. I've tried pretty much everything from the pies, meat pies, the freshly made sourdough bread that is just delicious, and the burgers on Fridays. You also have things like the cookies, the brownies and so much more. On top of all of that there's even a lot that I have yet to try, the ice cream being one of them. She even went on vacation for a couple of weeks and that was probably the longest couple of weeks without a good coffee. Oh yeah and I almost forgot, the breakfast wraps are absolutely delicious. You got to try them. Try anything try everything try it all, I'm sure you'll love it.“

“Instead of recommending the restaurant or not I wish I could rate it with stars. I would give a 3.75 the food was the good. The service was good. The atmosphere was good. Nothing was stand out amazing. For the price I would think the entrees would come with a salad or bread for the table but they do not. Drinks of course were expensive as anywhere but I got the smallest pour of wine I’ve probably ever received. We went for a special occasion and I wish we would have went somewhere else. Maybe I’ll try again with friends again for lunch and hope for a better experience.“

From our hostess, Koisi who set the tone to our server, Susan, who paid attention to every detail, to the manager, Dianna, who attended to my allergy needs, this was a night to rememeber. HUGE shout out to Chef Gary and his Korean Salmon bites and penne Ala pesto! As a vegetarian who needs to be gluten free, I was floored to find a restaurant with such flavorful choices. Thank you for paying close attention to my allergy/sensitivity needs and to having the manager double check. I've never had that happen. I hope others take notice of this exceptional chef and dining experience.“

“I ordered food from Maisie's for a celebration lunch for my staff. Delivery was exactly on time. Everything was really delicious. Several staff members came up to me afterwards to complement the quality of the food. We have gotten family dinners from. Maisies' before and I definitely recommend them, as well. Everything is freshly prepared, homemade, and delicious. Such a great asset to our community!“

“Stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was quiet for a Saturday. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I hadn’t been there in a couple of years, so we decided to stop in. They usually have some terrific specials in addition to the menu. Patrick will always give great advice on what to try. My wife had a huge lobster roll and I had a panko encrusted baked cod. Both were specials and both were terrific. While it’s a bit out of the way, it’s a great spot. The deck is covered and overlooks the 18th green of the golf course. Very enjoyable.“

“First time here in a very cold evening, it’s like on the back of a building, there’s a park in front of the store, and across the street from it is a huge building with a clock on top that could be an old train terminal.
The chef was really friendly and the chicken sandwich meal was delicious, my daughter was a picky eater, and she just killed that sandwich, the chicken was crispy and tender inside, it was so food, since it’s a cold day we didn’t bother to order ice cream pops, we will definitely come back with friends and visit this eatery again.“

“Went to Junior's yesterday for the NBA game and some MLB games. Service was great, bar was very busy but one of the bartenders Vanessa came right over and got me set up with a drink and a menu. after giving me some time to think she promptly came over and took more order and food came out very quick. food was delicious as always. both bartenders were awesome. I choose to come to Junior's over other bars because the staff always provide the best service and make Junior's a fun place to drink and watch sports. 10/10 experience“

Hubby had a pineapple mule that was stupendous also . The fish tacos were very good ...texture and taste were spot on . The fish and chips were excellent . The fried fish was delightfully light , not heavy . The coleslaw was bland but everything else was yummy . And finally, we had to get dessert . Decided on pineapple upside down cheesecake . “We can’t say enough about this place! My boyfriend and I had our first date here so it’s very special to us. We had a gender reveal here back in November and they brought out ice cream with blue sprinkles and sang to us. I went there yesterday; bought a slice of cheesecake and asked if they could put a candle in it and bring it out as a surprise for mine and my boyfriends 1 year anniversary. “I’ve been looking forward to checking out the restaurant, Dove & Deer, since I first encountered their food when their chef was highlighted at the annual Summer Gala fundraiser here in Hudson last year. Their chef served an incredible amuse-bouche with gooseberries and the chef who was there sharing the amuse-bouches was wonderfully charming and the food was incredible! I was so impressed that I’ve been following their social media since then and have been looking forward to visiting the restaurant all the while! I was recently in the area and while I unfortunately wasn’t able to visit the restaurant in person- I was able to order through Door Dash and the meal was incredible! We ordered an assortment of things to share and were thrilled with everything! -Spicy Kale Caesar with shredded kale, croutons, and shaved parmesan! -Truffle Parm Fries with scallions and truffle aioli! -Mini Wagyu Beef Hotdogs made with wagyu beef, served in buttery toasted buns, and topped with mustard, ketchup, and relish! -Hot Lobster Dip made with lobster claw and knuckle meat, gruyere, gouda, fontina, spinach, scallion, and crispy wontons! It is often very difficult for a restaurant to adjust their menu to translate to takeout; and for them to do so where every single dish was not only delicious but also mostly with a great presentation, says a great deal about their attention to detail. This is a restaurant I look forward to dining at again many more times over the years!“

Gus's is a legendary culinary institution in blue collar Watervliet. It is greasy, messy, inexpensive, unhealthy, and monumentally a must-do Capital District bucket list visit. I grew up across the river in Troy, NY, but I've lived in Central Virginia for 20 years. I visit Gus's every time I return to visit my family.“
