“Hubby and son and I went here for Mother's Day. It was our first time but definitely not our last. Upon entering, the staff was friendly, offering us a choice of inside or outside dining. The dining room was roomy without being over crowded. Attempts have been made to help with the acoustics so the noise level was very good. It was very easy for us to have a conversation without excessive background noise. The food selection was excellent - ranging from elegant to as simple as a hotdog. Our selection was smothered brisket, salmon and English cut prime rib. The food arrived hot and looked spectacular. There was even a small orchid on my prime rib plate. And it tasted as good as it looked. Save room for dessert - limited selection but the apple pie is one of the best I have ever had at a restaurant. The crust was like puff flakey pastry and the filling had just the right amount of sweet and cinnamon. It iscreaon enough to come back again.Parking: This restaurant is also a golf course so parking is more than adequate and is fully paved. They also have traffic flow set up well to help with entering and egressing the venue.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant was very accessible with adequate close parking and doors that chairs could enter without hinderence.“

“We pass through the area regularly enough to have been here many times. The staff are all friendly, even though they don't know our names as they do for most of those who eat there! The breakfast items we've ordered are always properly prepared, and the coffee hot, but the one time we ate off the lunch menu we weren't thrilled and decided that in the future we'd stick with breakfast, which they serve morning and afternoon (we've never made it there the one evening a week they're open for dinner). They always have breakfast specials which are very reasonably priced and the atmosphere is a welcome step back in time so we look forward to returning.“

Food is delicious and staff is friendly and attentive. Bar area can be a bit loud due to the fact it's really the only bar in the area. Outdoor seating seasonally lakeside is wonderful. “Our choice for Schenectady Restaurant Week was Turf Tavern in Scotia, we have never been....it was delicious! I ordered off the restaurant week menu, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Prime Rib, Creme Brulee (this also came with a salad). Hubby had a Wedge Salad and the Sweet Cherry Pepper Pulled Pork. Everything was cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor, although I did need a little salt...Service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!“

“Our waiter was Kim - she was so patient with us while we decided on what we wanted to order for dinner (we'd never been there for dinner so it took us a bit to decide) and apologized for seeming like she was rushing us by checking in, when in reality it felt reassuring that she was consistently checking in on us to get our food in to the kitchen asap. We ordered the Our Famous Chicken & a salmon fillet. The chicken was okay, would probably order again. However the salmon was very bland and unenjoyable to eat. When we let Kim know, she was very understanding and asked if we wanted something different, and she took the salmon off the bill. She then offered to buy us any dessert we wanted on her. She absolutely did not have to do this and we were very grateful. She was so kind to us and we hope to have her as our waiter again. We made sure to leave a larger tip so she got her money back +tip for the dessert she bought us. Give Kim a RAISE! She deserves it! Has great costumer service skills and is just such a sweet person. Will be coming back just for Kim.“

“Amazing! Simply amazing.Where do I start.Food is reasonably priced.3 eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, home fries, coffee..... just 11 bucks. They also have smaller meals for 5-8 bucks. In today's world, that's cheaper than the cheapest breakfast and much much better.The home fries: crisp, with a slight crunch, warm but not piping hot, perfect. I usually use ketchup, I didn't because it would've ruined them. They tasted so good.Eggs: Perfect. I asked for over medium. Which is kinda specific. Not only did she cook them right, but she nailed them so perfectly that it reminded me of my mother and grandmother's cooking. Perfectly done eggs at the perfect temperature.Bacon : Again nailed it, crisp but not hard. I don't know how she does it!Sausage: slightly salty, but this was perfect because as I stacked it with the unsalted home fries, it was incredible.Coffee : Fresh, my God, was it fresh. Slightly sweetened, almost like the sugar was a support to the coffee, but it didn't overtake the coffee. The coffee was the main event. “First Prize Mike's is defiantly a restaurant that is worth trying. Their hotdogs with mustard, onions, and meat sauce are very good. They have been in business since 1947 and it is a well known spot in Schenectady. Service is very fast and friendly. Good meals can be had here at affordable prices.The restaurant serves fresh coffee, but only has a vending machine for soda or water. You can eat in or takeout. If in the area stop by for some food at a well known local spot.“

“It doesn’t matter if you are a local or you are visiting upstate NY, Indian Ladder Farms is a place that you really want to visit, specially during the autumn. They have so many activities like apple picking, great beer, food, music and the traditional cider donuts… the best ones I had ever tasted. Super kid friendly and family oriented. They have cows, goats, chickens and other animals that you can pet and feed. I am so happy to see this place grow and being supported by the community.“
