Came here for my daughter 40th birthday dinner I called ahead of time told then that I had a large party, we got to the restaurant and were seated right away and the menu said happy birthday Tisha on the menu which was so so great and let me tell you everything we tried delicious the drinks was great waiters were wonderful. “My fiance got us dinner today & I must say it taste very great. We have been looking for a good Jamaican restaurant for some time now. Every cook has slight dif flavor and you can always taste the dif in food. The food was healthy & the overall service provided was very respectful. We also felt full and great after our meal! “I was in the mood for a beef patty and just so happened to be in those neck of the woods. My mom had esciviche fish and a side of cabbage, and I had a medium jerk chicken with rice and peas with cabbage along with 2 mild beef patties. In addition we bought 2 drinks as well. Came to about $48 in total. Fish was well seasoned and tender. Chicken was jerking as it should be, and the beef patty was hot temperature-wise and tasted fresh. Also, the service personnel had a pleasant demeanor and gave a decent portion size.“

“Love love love! We’ve ate at the Brooklyn and Long Island location, amazing food and great portions! We had the steamed fish and sweet chili shrimp. Both were delicious. The freshly made drinks are also a must have! Soursop and pineapple ginger were my favs! Brandon was so helpful and informative, we will continue to support this family business.“

“We always order using delivery apps though wanted to come in for the full experience. SO GLAD WE DID. First off, this has to be one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever been in. That made me feel really happy. Now to the food! Came for the Taco Tuesday Special and so happy we did. We came very late in the evening so we missed the jerk chicken tacos though I was not disappointed in the jerk beef tacos. Such a great deal and it was delicious. These were the full size tacos, not the minis. Run don’t walk as I’m sure this deal wont last. We also ordered the fried fish and grits , we paid for extra for more fish and so goad we did. I didn’t expect a carribean place to be my new go to fish spot but here we are! We ordered the collard greens which were a little different than the southern style I’m accustomed to though had a spice to kick it up.

Friendly staff and very welcoming. They offered us samples of their new fresh made sea moss which was delicious and we grabbed more to take home.

“I've been to several Tropical Jerk locations (Uniondale, Baldwin), and I’d say this Roosevelt spot is the least crowded, which is a big plus. The parking lot does fill up quickly because of other places on the strip, so keep that in mind when you head over.

A heads-up for breakfast lovers: many Jamaican spots, including this one, stop serving breakfast pretty early, so if you're in the mood for ackee and dumplings, make sure you get there early enough!

Speaking of which, I had the ackee and fried dumpling. The ackee was tasty but a bit watery, which knocked it down a bit for me. On the flip side, the fried dumplings were great size, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and at the ideal temp.

Pricing is standard for Jamaican spots in the area, so you won't find anything too out of the ordinary there. One thing to note is that they don't take over-the-phone orders, so I recommend calling ahead to check if they have what you're craving before making the trip
