We have enjoyed Graziano's culinary artistry for 30 years now, (since the days of Mary Ps), and he just keeps getting better. My wife had the shortribs, and I had the sushi grade tuna with mushrooms and we enjoyed every bite. The service and atmosphere are the best. I would highly recommend the Downtown Cafe for a delicious, relaxing meal and great hometown atmosphere.“

“First time here for a private party and i cannot say enough great things about not only the food but the staff also. By far one of the best upcoming restaurants in the Hudson valley. The pizza was so flavorful, fresh with perfect crust n that’s coming from someone whose family owned pizzeria for years. “I used to look forward to eating there. But the last two times I had the worst servers. One never came back to check after she dropped off my food. I had wanted a soda refill and another napkin, had to find her to get my check. Last night I came in and was told the kitchen was about to close so I needed to hurry up (I just sat down at about 9:25 pm). I ordered right away. An ice water and a coke and a meatball parm sub. I was lucky to get my soda with her attitude. No ice water was brought or acknowledged at all. I took a few bites of my food and she asked if I wanted a box. I was really irritated. If they told me to go only I would have been fine. But the way I was handled made me angry. I ate quickly and left. If I choose to get something again , it will be to go. Honestly, Caitlyn is the best server there. She is five stars. The others are not worth a dime.“

“Milanese catered our recent year end golf event. It was FABULOUS! Everyone was so impressed with the delicious food. Everything from Eggplant parm, meatballs, sausage and peppers, chicken parm, penne a la vodka (yum) and rigatoni with broccoli. Everything was cooked perfectly and arrived piping hot. Highly recommend Milanese for catering needs. I may even order a half tray of the eggplant parm to portion up and freeze for mid week dinners. Their red sauce is delicious. Really wonderful Italian food.“

“Touch of Naples is by far the best pizza in the Hudson Valley. Anyone who thinks differently is unfortunately wrong. I’ve been going here for 38 years and the quality has always been unbelievable. Their old style Sicilian and grandma pizzas are amazing. The giant slice is a great value. And the selection of different slices at the counter is fantastic. Awesome staff very friendly reasonable prices. They don’t deliver, you know why… They’ve never needed to. It’s worth going there.“

“I am writing his a second time because I don't see my review I just wrote. I have been going here since I was a kid! 60+ years! I have had parties here. Even my son's first birthday 38 year ago! My union even has had pizza parties here. Best Italian food in the area! Love their pizza, their eggplant parm, and their stuffed zucchini blossoms. “Amazing food . If you’re looking for fresh delicious food then check out this place. We had the Arthur Ave salad , Chicken Milanese , the carbonara , the tiramisu and the mocha latte. All I can say is WOW 🤩 . Left with full bellies . The mocha latte was the best latte I ever had. The rest of the food was so fresh you will leave feeling full but not that gross full feeling . “Delicious traditional Italian food. I ordered the veal, breaded with melted mozzarella atop al dente spaghetti and a savoury red sauce. With the Italian bread it was everything I was hankering for during a meandering road trip through the Hudson River Valley starting from our hotel in lower Manhattan and between the Staten Island ferry and our hotel in downtown Albany. Great, prompt service, and a clean restaurant. Really glad we chose this establishment to dine at!“

“What started off as a sad and somber day with the funeral for my grandmother ended with a very high note: after the visiting hours we gathered at Cappola's Restaurant in Hyde Park. This is a spot my family has been going to for generations. Well, when I was a kid I got dragged to some family function 20 years ago that I was very bored at. I wound up scraping plates and working in the kitchen that day (I was about 9 or 10 years old at the time.) I latched onto John Cappola's arm and was given a full tour of the restaurant, $5 cash for helping out, and a life experience that I will never forget! John and I took some pictures that day, I asked him to autograph a menu for me, and I decided I wanted to go into the restaurant business. He talked me out of it, which I was quite glad he did because I wound up going into coins and antiques a few years later. John, you showed me that day the value of hard work, the concept of what the American dream is all about, and how to hustle in business. Interestingly enough, John said he wondered what had happened to me just a couple of days prior to today! John's family started this legendary restaurant on Main Street in Poughkeepsie back in 1961. They subsequently went to open the restaurant in Hyde Park where he and his brothers still run it today. "Cappola's: a Hudson Valley Tradition Since 1961!" Gigi's continues to surprise me by expanding seasonally, each year with new, delicious, and varied menu items. “We all arrived hungry to a shockingly full parking lot. As an ex-industry person I can say we got our table touched 20 times here which was nice, but actually as a diner maybe a bit too much especially if the table touches didn't result in the proper service. It was a dark and stormy spring Saturday night, we arrived at 630, a half hour early for our reservation but were seated promptly. It took zero minutes for who appeared to be the bartender to ask us for our drink orders, while she remembered the wine and bourbon orders she forgot my hot tea even after we had a whole conversation about it. When our actual waitress arrived I had to reorder the tea and the timing on the warm up had about already passed. That being said I often order hot tea before dinner and it was pretty awesome that the hot water came in a separate metal mini kettle along with the tiniest tea cup in North America. It reminded me of Europe actually the tea cup was sooo small, maybe 4oz but the kettle had another 24oz of super hot water for me which kept me very happy throughout the meal.

I didn't get my honey with it though even though I ordered it twice with two people now. I was about to have to ask for the honey when the bartender ran it over before I could but then... no spoon. Not a spoon anywhere on the table actually, I gave up and used my fork for the night in the tea. When we were approached and my 80+yr old mother began to order our mains the waitress cut her off and left mid order bc she said the kitchen was calling her. Huge no-no as far as Im concerned, this alone looses them one star forget about the tea.

When she came back we were all happy to learn we all got salads and sides with our entrees, I ordered the schnitzel which was our entire impetus for the visit as I consider myself somewhat of a schnitzel connoisseur. My gf tried to sub mushrooms for her side but when it arrived the waitress had added it as an add'l side and gave her zucchini even though she didn't order it and I witnessed them having a conversation about it.

Our salads all came drowning in dressing with one rock hard tomato, at first I thought it was a full reddish, I love dressing but this was a lot even for me; the dressing was actually really good but strongly recommend ordering dressing on the side at this restaurant. I also got the rice which was very good. The schnitzel came in two pieces with more salad, kind of, just arugula and tomatoes not mentioned on the menu now no dressing haha.

Definitely one of the greasiest schnitzels I've had in all my days which was even more noticeable after I gobbled both of them down with a pool of oil left over on my plate. After being served our entrees we got 7 table touches from various people within 5 minutes. This was a lot, too much as we were finally all just wanting to eat. I didn't ever mention the late tea, missing spoon or drowning salad.

Overall everyone was lovely, the restaurant was nice and (dad had no complaints so) we were happy with our overall experience even though they seemed to be having a giant other party in the other room the whole time; unfortunately I just can't give them 5 stars“
