“Having often gone to Sak's and recently to Tandoor of India down the road, I can't help but compare their curry dishes despite being fairly different types of cuisine, Tandoors curry was mostly filler ingredients like rice while Sak's had plenty of quality vegetables and more meat. Word of warning, no dine-in.“

“This was our first time trying The Gate House and we were impressed! We came on a Thursday afternoon with no reservation and were seated right away. Our server was prompt and attentive immediately and continued through the duration of our meal. We tried the Xerox pizza as well as the Duffy burger and both were 10/10! Absolutely delicious. “My girlfriends and I love going to Original Steve's Diner in Victor. The restaurant has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. You can tell the staff really loves their jobs and they give excellent attention and service to patrons. The owner John and his wife Elizabeth have truly mastered the art of upscale diner cuisine. Although many people love the ultra delicious pancakes, I was ecstatic when they added crepes. The cheesecake crepes with berries paired with a side of bacon are the perfect pairing of sweet and savory. I will definitely be a regular customer.“

I do not recommend Nosh, not the same restaurant and feel its a turn for the worst. One out of the four meals one was acceptable we had 12/14/2023.The waitress very sweet but felt she was as frustrated as we were. Vickie the owner made no effort to accommodate us and was almost rude.I will pass this along, is a small coummiity in Rochester. Any postive reviews you read are prior to Vickie taking over restuarant.“

“I’ll preface this by saying that I’ve had garbage plates from Dogtown & Nick’s (the OG). I got a half-plate, which was still a huge portion weighing probably four pounds, with mac’n’homefries and cheeseburger topped with the cinnamon (mild but tasty) meat sauce and “a little bit” of onions, mustard, and ketchup. This was BY FAR the most delicious garbage plate I’ve ever had. I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back here. And it’s less than a 10-minute, quick’n’easy drive from Rochester General Hospital (so skip the Wolfgang Puck despite the convenience). I will add that the young woman who took my order was kind and friendly. The meal “to-go” was ready in less than 4 minutes. And the food was delicious, not at all greasy—literally PERFECT“

“This is a really fabulous sushi spot nestled in Village Gate. They have a nice mix of standard fare and really creative rolls. Our favorites are Sunny Day and Sweet Potato Tempura, though everything we've tried on multiple visits is fantastic and fresh. They also have a really interesting and tasty Seaweed Duo Salad. For the non-sushi eater, don't hesitate to order their ramen. It is wonderfully prepared. Service has also always been friendly and fast. Special requests were accommodated with a smile. Prices are reasonable and the portions are good. If the weather is nice, enjoy dinner on their patio. This is one of our favorite spots in the city. It will not disappoint!“

My biggest complaint is that they don't have prices on the menu, and I didn't expect a sandwich to cost $18-something. For a place where you order at a counter, pick up your own food on a plastic tray, and bus your own table, I wouldn't expect these kind of mid-fancy restaurant prices“

“This place consistently does not disappoint. Inside you’ll find an unassuming counter line similar to a Chipotle, but this punches way above its weight. The decor is unique and the patio is lovely. Served on tableware with friendly staff. The food is absolutely outstanding. Easily one of the best restaurants of its kind anywhere we’ve travelled. Everything is super fresh and flavorful. We’re not sure what they do differently about their baba, but it is to die for. Their Veggie Sampler is a go-to favorite. Today we also tried the portobello pitza which had nice chunks of olive, onion, tomato, a vinegar reduction, and cheese with a lovely pull to it. We’ve yet to have a single item at this restaurant that wasn’t described as “outstanding” or “among the best we’ve had” for whatever the dish. Our only regret is that we didn’t try it until February 2023.“
