I order from here frequently and the quality of the food is very consistent/good. Alo Gobi, Bindi, channa masala, Gobi Manchurian, paneer makhani, chili paneer are some of my favorites.“

“I stopped by the Hindu Temple Canteen after visiting the temple and the place delivers exactly what people say about it. The food is simple, fresh and made with the kind of consistency you only get in a temple kitchen.

I tried two plates because I was there with a friend. The pongal was warm, comforting and properly seasoned. The curd vada had a light, balanced taste and felt refreshing. The mixture on the side added a nice crunch. The dosa was crisp, not oily, and the coconut chutney tasted clean. The sambar was mild but paired well with everything.

The canteen is not about presentation. It's about honest food that feels familiar and satisfying. Portions are fair and pricing is very reasonable for New York. If you're already visiting the temple, stopping here makes total sense. It’s quick, reliable and a good break before heading back out.“

When the staff learned that we were celebrating a birthday luncheon, they kindly paused the music during our cake cutting and even played the "Happy Birthday" song on the big screen. We love their new recipe for papadi chaat! Their shahi paneer is a must, along with their naan—just delicious. Everything is fairly priced. “Happened to be in this area so decided to try them. Wow one taste & I was transported back to my trip to the Punjab. We had aloo & mixed vegetables parathas & aloo tikki. The parathas were served hot & fresh with homemade pickles & thick yogurt & a pitcher of fresh Lassi. The spices & seasoning was perfectly balanced to go with the yogurt. The aloo tikki likewise. One complaint is there is not heater so it is cold which makes uncomfortable eating wearing all your clothes. The lady & the young man serving were very kind & pleasant. I hope to return in the summer when it us warm.“

Ordered a samosa chat, two extra potato samosas, chicken kebabs, and chicken tikka masala. Now it's a family-run business apparently, and the owner is the uncle that created India Cafe in Richmond and Floral Park previously. He sold both those establishments and said his only focus is now on Royal India Palace, and you can tell ... the food is great.“
