“This place was recommended to me. When I walked in the cashier wasn't to receptive. She had a sour look on her face. Overall the food was good and it was fresh. The price was fair for the food I received. I would come back, not for the reception but for the food.“

“I was craving collard greens - and looking for a new place to try. I found Village BBQ on line and was impressed with the reviews so off I went. Randy the owner is not only the nicest guy but a fantastic chef! He and his wife run the business. I had his brisket (at his insistence!) Delicious! Sweet potatoes and collard greens. Customer next to me raved about the banana pudfing so I added that too. All 5 star!!! Very happy I took the chance on a place in a gas station!!“

“I door dashed from here and when I tell you comfort food, COMFORT FOOD. It’s hard finding a good soul food restaurant in NY due to other cultures making it and putting their own twists to it but this gives that nostalgia of authentic soul food. 🩷
The portion size was good and I always say once food comes in that styrofoam tray, the food gonna hit every time.“

“The food was so amazing, I ascended into heaven and came back to Earth like a whiplash. The ribs were so good that I got BBQ sauce on my shoulder and eyebrow, and of course my hands. I ate like a starved dog. The owner came up to us and made sure we were well taken care of. 10/10 place.“
