“Visiting from New Orleans and a friend took us here. I didn’t expect much from a soul food restaurant, since I am a southern girl and good cook I am told, BUT I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! The JD turkey wings, Mac & Cheese, Cabbage and yams!! And don’t forget the potato salad. We LOVED EVERYTHING. The entire staff was friendly and professional. We will be back. It was five of us and we had the rib, chicken, turkey wings, …All cooked to perfection!“

“10/10! Super friendly staff and everything was delicious. I went in anticipating oxtails but they were out, so I opted for jerk chicken, Mac and cheese and rice and peas. Literally the most flavorful rice and peas I’ve ever had! Mac was tasty and well seasoned and the jerk chicken was the perfect blend of tang and spice. I looked forward to having leftovers but ate the entire plate in one sitting. Will definitely be back :))“

“95 south is definitely a spot for vibes AND good food. My husband and I each had a half rack of ribs and it was a huge portion. The food was all very great quality and the bbq was actually finger lickin’ good as we say in the south. I’ve tried all the hipster bbq spots (Morgan’s, Pig Beach, Dinosaur, etc.) none of them were as good as this, like not even comparable.

The music was a little too loud for a Monday night and service was kinda slow but it is somewhere we would come back to for sure.“

You'll hear them howling in the kitchen with laughter behind the jackson 5 or other 80s/90s soul and r&b hits, and you will taste that love in the food.“

“Came here on a Sunday afternoon by myself and got seated at the bar immediately. I was served by Senua (sp?) who was very kind and warm. I enjoyed the overall ambiance and sitting in view of the kitchen. Their branded bowls and mugs were a fun touch.

I ordered the hummus, the kefta plate, and the sahlab. In general the food was good, but I was expecting more flavor. I plan to come back and try some of their more unique dishes.

The pita was more dense than light and airy. The hummus was generously topped with olive oil which brought most of the flavor. There was also sumac on top, but I wasn’t tasting that much. The texture was very smooth though.

The kefta was tender, and I appreciated the side salad with it. They were generous with the greens and rice. Similar to the hummus, I had hoped for more flavor with the kefta.

My favorite thing was the sahlab, which I had never tried before. It was warm, sweet, and very floral. It was also topped with cinnamon, which was a nice companion to the floral flavors.“

“I was here for a special event. The food was tasty and satisfying. I especially enjoyed the baked and jerk wings, rice&peas and collards. The drinks were good too. This event included a DJ for karaoke, which was a lot of fun. The staff was welcoming and attentive.“

“I’ve been a customer at DUNCAN’S for many, many years. It used to be on the corner of Vanderbilt and Myrtle Avenues it was good then and it’s even better now.“

It was the freshest salmon I tasted and was on a bed of rice so healthy and still tasty! I tasted a Turkish soda and it was fruity and the best combination of sweet and tangy The salmon SKIN was amazingly crispy! Yes the skin. This Turkish/Mediterranean place is a place I will forever go to and overlooked. The atmosphere of the place felt like me at home so laidback!“

“As soon you walk in you're greeted and asked if it's your 1st time. All to be given a sampler of greens, yams, wing and Mac and cheese. The crunch and flavor on the wing was everything. I ordered the whiting dinner with yams and tuna macaroni. Peach cobble and Big Tea fresh brewed. Would return to try more.“

“I ordered through Uber Eats however, I had to leave a review because the food was so good & I don’t understand all the bad reviews. I haven’t experienced the service but the food was delicious. I got fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and yams. I’m convinced many people haven’t had real soul food (this is real southern food not the fake stuff u see so often in NY/Brooklyn). Everything was soo good. Add corn bread into the mix and it would be a 10/10. Excited to try it again soon!“
