“Came here around 12:45Am and got a triple mix platter. Just finished eating it and it was by far the best halal I’ve had. None of the other halal spots in the area even come close. On top of that the dude who served me and cooked the food was extremely nice and helpful. Even at midnight, the food was hot and cooked fresh. Will definitely be coming back here often“

“My partner and I were in the area and decided to give Afridi's halal cart a try. We ordered a combo over rice and a chicken over rice, and we devoured both platters. The food was absolutely delicious, and I'd probably make my way out there again just for more. While waiting, the cart cook gave us samplers of the meat with the different sauces. He was pleasant to speak with and, overall, a genuinely kind person.“

“Best HALAL chicken sandwich on Long Island HANDS DOWN. So delicious and the staff is very nice and it’s located so conveniently next to Hofstra. My friends and I are always here when we need a break from classes and need some good food worth the price. I wish they made it nicer inside though with an AC and comfortable seating while students hang out with their friends or families eat together.“

“This was my first time coming here as a suggestion from a friend. but at that time was googling for some desi chai happened to be the same restaurant that my friend suggested once. Very comfortable environment.

When i was searching for halal food and some chai in the area didn't even know there was a Desi Pakistani restaurant. Cooco's Den .Ordered an Aloo paratha with chai eventhough it was almost the lunch time was really hungry. the owner was very nice...still made me a delicious home made paratha along with a karak chai it was amazing! ? “Great place for a quick lunch, or to Uber when you’re sick, lazy, or starving!

I buy about 5 chicken burgers a week from them, 4 out of 5 times they ARE a little tough, as they probably have been sitting out for a while.

The Spicy Hot Chicken Meal, is excellent. You just need lots of sauce for it, as it is dry rub. Great for the price.

Mashed potatoes are amazing, just wish there was more gravy, and the biscuits lacked flavor. But great consistency, temp and quality.“

“I have being eating halal food for the last 10 years. I am very lucky to found the best and cleannest halal store in New York. The gentlemen that served us was a real gentlemen and he's food was excellent ?. We were also lucky to meet other employees running that restaurant in a really great manner and I also recommend this place to everyone interest it on eating real good food. “Sahara Grill is, without a doubt, the best halal food cart here in Hillside, Queens! I’ve been coming here to try all the carts for over 10 years, and I can confidently say that no other cart in the area comes close. There are three other halal carts around, but they simply don’t measure up. The difference is clear – while those other spots have rude staff and serve chicken over rice that often lacks flavor or even smells off, Sahara Grill gets everything just right. Every time I come here, I know I’m getting quality food made with care.

The chicken over rice at Sahara Grill is amazing – it’s packed with flavor, the spices are perfectly balanced, and you can tell it’s fresh with every bite. They give generous portions, too, so you really feel like you’re getting great value for your money. The rice is fluffy, the chicken is juicy, and everything is topped off with just the right amount of sauce. It’s a simple meal, but they make it so well that it stands out.

On my last visit, Hicham, who was working the cart, was incredibly kind and helpful. He made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it and took the time to make me feel valued as a customer. His friendliness and attention to detail really made the experience special. I ordered two chicken over rices, and they were both amazing – just as flavorful and fresh as always.

The only downside? This spot doesn’t seem to get as much attention as it deserves. I rarely see many other customers, which is a shame because this place is a true find. If you’re in Queens and craving some amazing halal food, don’t waste your time anywhere else. Sahara Grill is the place to go – highly recommend it!

It’s easy to pull in, park, and enjoy your food without any hassle. The big parking lot makes it super accessible, even during busier times, which is a huge plus compared to some of the other crowded spots in the area.“

“Really good food. Enjoyed every bite of it. Had the beef kofta and lamb with rice and salad. They have some seating. Clean tables. At the time there were a few families inside with kids but behaved. Located on a main Street. Parking is somewhat limited.

“Came in once last week and once yesterday, a bit later during the night. Since it was this late on a Sunday I didn’t expect the food to taste that fresh. Despite this, I still got my order tasting fresh and arriving quick (<5 mins) and could see workers diligently cleaning in the kitchen and a younger man wiping down all the tables, sweeping the floors and cleaning the bathroom. I had went inside the bathroom after he was done and it was spotless, something I would never expect to see from a fast food place. The manager was very nice and I could tell he’s trained his workers well. Will be coming agian.“

“They have the BEST CHICKEN GYRO EVER!!! and I've eaten gyro from other halal food carts in Columbus Circle, Times Square and in front of the MoMa and no one comes close to Madina's chicken. The guy that works on the weekends is the best and is very generous and gives you just the right amount of food not less like other places. I live 30 minutes away and I always come here and made it into a routine. And now they have numbers to call for pick and remodeled the cart.“
