“Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices on Union Turnpike in Glen Oaks is my go to spot for a sweet treat, especially during the warmer months. With over 60 flavors, there’s truly something for everyone, from classic water ices to rich creme options.

Personally, I think their crème ices are the way to go cause of the smooth, flavorful, and totally nostalgic. Whether you’re into fruity, chocolatey, or somewhere in between, they’ve got you covered.

The service at this location is great. Friendly and efficient, even when the lines get long during peak summer hours. The ambiance is very relaxed, but just keep in mind that there’s no seating, it’s strictly takeout.

Also, note that this Ralph’s is seasonal, so make sure to get your fix while it’s open!

“I wanted cheesecake bites and had called over the phone to tell them to include it since uber eats didn’t have it as an option, however the man told me they ran out. After we got off the phone I guess he went to the back just to to double check and realized he had a little extra left and went out of his way to scoop out whatever was left in the back to give to me. He even went out of his way to write a note on the bag. Whoever this was, just know we appreciated it so much! “Once inside, I find myself tasting all the treats in this veritable abbondanza of pastries, cookies, cakes and, of course, Teresa’s special Italian Ices. I’m especially partial to the Lilly with Nuts. It a uniquely New York flavor that Teresa captures so well. Although I’m not from the neighborhood, it certainly worth the trip. During one visit, I was fortunately confronted by a warm tray of freshly baked miniature sfogliatella sitting in parchment paper. I can still relish the experience. “I visited Gran Caffe Gelateria with a few friends for a late-night dessert after dinner, and we were also looking for a good coffee spot. This place had great reviews, so we decided to check it out, especially since it stays open late.

As for the customer service, while the staff was polite, I felt the engagement could have been better. When asking about flavors and pricing, it was a bit of a one-sided conversation. Since it wasn’t too busy at the time, I would have preferred a little more interaction to make the experience feel more welcoming.

The coffee and espresso were also fantastic, with a surprisingly good value for the price. My friends and I were impressed with the flavor and quality.

I believe the system on how they take orders for customers is designed to create a line so other potential customers will see & think what's going on over there. I believe it's a strategic advertising moving that comes at the expense of good people who just want to get the ices or ice cream & go home back to their respective lives. I truly hope that they read this post & think we have an excellent product that sells itself. we do not need to take this approach to get other potential customers to come to our establishment. Once you finally make it to front & and purchase, the servers are nice & pleasant & more importantly respectful. I asked one of them why the line like this & she simply replied this is the way they want it.“
