“Bailey, the manager was absolutely incredible and understanding about a mix up with my sandwich order. Completely satisfied and happy with the outcome.Vegetarian options: The mediterranean sandwich. Any salad can be made vegetarianDietary restrictions: No meat“
“This definitely has to be one of my favorite breakfast places in Rochester. Nothing beats it. The atmosphere is super cute and their seasonal jams are mind-blowing. The owners are super friendly and their French Press Coffee just hits home. Highly recommend this place!!!!!!!!!!!“
“This coffee shop is such a gem. The employees are very pleasant and welcoming towards everyone. The atmosphere changes throughout the day. It can be nosey or very quiet. I have not had their food, although my husband gets the soup on Saturdays. They have a menu that has vegan options. Their lattes are amazing they fill the cup, unlike Starbucks. This place is worth a try for anyone.Dietary restrictions: They offer almond milk and soy. They have gluten-free dairy free cookies.“
“Loved it here so much! The baked goods and tea were amazing, but of course I came for the kitties! There were a few dozen friendly, well-kept ADOPTABLE kitties you can play with - or or just chill and hang out. Make sure you make a reservation in advance so you can have your kitty playtime!“
“You can bring your kids (under 5 only) to come and play here while you supervise from tables around the play area. The Cafe serves food and drinks as well. The food was great, the coffee could've been stronger. We will definitely plan on making the drive to visit more.Kid-friendliness: This place is designed for kidsWheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs required to enter. Parking lot is flat. All or most seating can be made wheelchair accessible. You will need to ensure your child will enter and leave the play area on their own, however, as it is not all easily accessible by wheelchair“
“Everything about the experience there was fantastic. The cocktails were perfectly balanced, whomever was making drinks knew what they were doing, it was a great subtle blending of flavors. We ordered apps that came out promptly and blew us away right from the start. We had the wheat berry risotto which we ordered just because it sounded interesting and it ended up being more delicious than anything we had had in Rochester in a long time. The entrees, also perfectly timed were also great. We had the pork chop and the skirt steak. The pork chop was the best dish for sure. The sage chimichurri and corn hominy that came with it were such an amazing combination. Everything was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly portioned. The server described everything so well that she sold us on dessert even though we were stuffed by the end of the meal. We had a grilled lemon pound cake that hit with a citrusy brightness that perfectly ended the meal.I loved it. Highly recommend. Definitely up there as some of the best food and drinks in the city.Parking: There is a ton of parking there. It's the Public Market area, it can fit hundreds. No worries with parking. Very well lit and safe at night as well.“
“Pleasant place and staff but a little disappointing on coffee and pastry quality. I wanted to like it more than I could.Flat white was a shot drowned in 12 oz of overheated milk, not sure how it differs from a latte or how you can get a strong milk drink. Is my understanding of what a flat white is non-universal?So-so Almond croissant warmed in the microwave wasn't awesome either.“
“My wife and I had a great lunch date here!?Very good food, good vegan options, and great kombucha on tap (we did a kombucha flight)They also have REALLY fresh and delicious gluten-free treats and a cute shop selling Japanese-inspires wares, and metalwork art. Will certainly visit again!⭐Dietary restrictions: Few meal options for strict gluten-free (i.e. celiac) needs. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options.“
“I stopped in for brunch on a Sunday morning. I ordered the egg, cheese, and apple-bacon breakfast sandwich. It came on a homemade biscuit that was incredible! The waitress was polite and service was relatively quick. The atmosphere was really nice. What a really nice place to sit and catch up with a friend. Delicious!“
“Favorite Shakes! So delicious! I’m obsessed! One of the only protein shakes that tastes amazing and that doesn’t upset my stomach. There isn’t a flavor I don’t like and won’t get bored of because they come up with new flavors to try too to really mix it up. I am a Gastric Bypass patient so I have strict dietary guidelines to follow and I can have pretty much everything there. it’s a guiltless treat I can enjoy. I get the sweet taste of a dessert but with much better nutrition. So worth it! Love the staff and environment! So helpful to make sure I’m within my dietary needs. Only thing is I wish there was a location closer to me so I could get one daily. But I’m thankful I can also get some mixes to bring and make at home.Dietary restrictions: If there is an allergy, or if you need to follow specific nutrition guidelines they can help offer the best option that fit or add extra nutrients like fiber to it. I don’t know all the specifics but I know The shakes are made with plant based ingredients filled with vitamins and minerals, low in sugar, Low-glycemic, but also no artificial flavors or sweeteners, gluten free, vegetarian, kosher Non-GM. There are nut free options. Just very good all around for nutrition and health.“
“This cozy cafe is my favorite coffee shop in Rochester. They have the BEST chai (I prefer their vanilla chai but their spiced is just as good) and their customer service is top notch. I appreciate the variety of seating options as well as the range on their menu. Love love love this spot!“
“I moved here last year. The environment, the people and customer. The coffee, Teas, snacks, and sandwiches. The mood in this place helped me create whether that be writing, reading or drawing. Also, very good date spot for anyone that loves Tea or Coffee. Very safe for us LGBTQIA+ The owner is a sister! Amazing vibes I love it I come here twice a week.“
“I just had one of the best breakfast sandwiches of my life here. Southwestern on ciabatta with tomatoes and onions. The food is always good, the people are always pleasant, and it’s a great atmosphere. I will stop here Saturday mornings before volunteering (shameless plug: Wild Wings Animal Sanctuary and Rehab) and it’s not just routine, I love this place.“
“This posh place stays busy, so just remember to make a reservation unless you want to eat at the bar! Now, everything I ordered was big and too much! Had leftovers for days!!! ?The ceiling is exposed, the cocktails are strong, and the menu is niche! Dimly lit, you can access this restaurant from outside or inside of Village Gate. And don't forget the food is delicious! My falafel was a bit overcooked, but hey... ??♀️“
“Excellent in every possible way!The food is excellent every time, in both quality and consistency. Salads, breakfast sandwiches, soups and wraps—all made from fresh and high quality ingredients! Even the simplest menu item is sure to please! The Lobster Bisque is especially out of this world and hard to beat. I tour all over Rochester as a private food critique and have yet to find a better one. You have to be early and you have to be quick because this soup gold can only be snatched—on Fridays! ( Come on L&B give the people more LB! )The service at Leaf & Bean is always friendly and expedited well. Leaf & Bean is clean, organized and well maintained. The owner frequents the store and I have seen him play many rolls to keep this cafe’ thriving. The atmosphere is happening at mealtime yet completely inspiring for this local author’s out of house writing time. It’s a great spot (indoors or out) to knock out a few hours of editing, personal business or in-person mentoring. I love my in house Double Cappuccino Italiano, and my husband can’t rave enough of their Cronuts!Their packaged cookie provider, “Jacks Sweet Shack,” whom bakes from a local kitchen, is a delicious addition that allows this town to support yet another local entrepreneur.Leaf & Bean Coffee Co. is Chili New York’s secret gem, make the stop!“
“We got protein shakes. It was our first visit but we will be back. The shakes were yummy. And the owner, Taylor. Is super friendly and helpful. We definitely found our new go to place for shakes. We really enjoyed them and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I highly recommend Energized Nutrition!“
“This place is such a hidden gem. The food was spectacular and there’s a ton of options for food as well as drinks. The JEF Panini was to die for and the quiches were really good as well. The building is adorable and the atmosphere was really fun. I highly recommend this place.Kid-friendliness: The staff is super friendly and the table markers have fun history facts.“
“Best frozen hot cocoa I've ever had. Ambiance is always warm and inviting, service is very attentive and friendly as well. Whether I want to energize for the day or wind down, I love having Canaltown in the neighborhood as my go to coffee shop.“
“Super cozy and vibrant coffee shop serving the coolest folks in Rochester. The pancake was absolutely delicious (it’s banana walnut). The coffee was also great.Looks like they have wifi as well so great place to work from. The menu is a good size and has lots of fun options. Definitely will be back.“
“Today I visited SoBol with a couple friends for the first time! We came at around noon, but luckily we were able to grab seating since it appeared as though many people got their bowls to go. Their service was very quick and the atmosphere was very chill. Their menu shows a couple of different options for bowl flavors to choose from, but me and my friends ordered the classic açaí. I added the cookie butter to my bowl and I highly recommend doing so, it was so delicious!! After we chatted and ate our bowls, we went over to the chalkboard to doodle, which was really fun! Overall, if you want to try an açaí bowl (which you should) or you have a craving and want to visit somewhere local, I recommend you give this place a try!“
“We held an event and wanted a caterer to help us develop a “brain-healthy” menu. Chef Norman Brown created a delicious lunch of salmon patties and spinach salad (among other things) for our group at a reasonable price. We appreciated all the thought and effort that went into the menu. Our guests raved about the food. We’ve been back for lunches since then. Delish!“
“A great venue for food and ice cream. American or Chinese food are delicious choices for lunch and dinner. The ice cream stand has everything you could want for a treat. Weekends and weeknights during warmer weather there are bands, car meets and other events for free. Its been a great addition to the Irondequoit town center right next door to the Great, Great House Of Guitars !“
“Excellent hidden gem within the Eastman museum complex. We didn't plan to have lunch while we visited the museum but after reading the eclectic menu for this restaurant we couldn't resist trying it and we weren't disappointed. Had a chicken sandwich that was a daily special along with their house chips and a pickled egg. All of the food was outstanding and full of flavor. Also had a stuffed cookie which was delicious. Highly recommend this hidden gem.“
“They were so happy to speak with us about every little question we had. If you need a cup of coffee but want it done right then you should get it here. Stock up on fresh beans or just come for the great service, there isn't a bad option!“
“I enjoy the several varieties of food options they have. The food is fresh and always delicious! I would recommend this place to my family and friends ?Dietary restrictions: I am semi limited on what I can eat and they were always very accommodating to my needs.“
“You ll feel sincerely welcomed by the staff in this eatery... actually one of the few in town that can be called a café and a cozy one at that. The staff is rightfully proud of the food and can explain it in detail. Soups vary daily and sandwiches are rather unique and delicious despite their "commonality;" chicken salad, olive & cream cheese, tuna, ham and cheese. Sound familiar? Yes, but the type of bread, the freshness of the lettuce and the addition of fruits or nuts always stand out along with creativity yet simplicity of the sides . Great place to go alone or with a friend or colleague“
“Rochester could do with about 10 more of this place. Once you find it, those other coffe shops wont see you again. Java's hs two doors and two areas: One is a sandwhich bar which often has a long queue for the local students from the Music Academy, you can always get a Gluten Free soup there which is what I go in for. The other area is a classic coffee and pastry counter. My only gripe with this place (and trust me, the place is great) is a lack of GF cakes. Get those in there and I can stay longer. There is a pool table downstairs and good art on the walls if you like your art funky.Visited February 2024“
“Magnolia's Deli & Cafe is a truly perfect little space encompassing much of what the culture of Rochester, NY, has to offer. The interior of the establishment is wonderful crafted making you feel as if you're sitting in the Italian countryside enjoying an espresso on a warm sunny day. The food is absolutely excellent especially the soups and the grilled cheese too is second to none :) The service told - some of the best that I have ever experienced!!This was my first trip to Magnolia's but it certainly will not be my last!!“
“Go to coffee shop for meeting up with friends for a hangout session. Casual atmosphere with a variety of tables, couches, chairs, artwork for sale, musical instruments & funky decor. Good selection of hot foods and munchies, along with plenty of hot & cold coffee drinks and teas to choose from. Reasonable prices. Usually fairly busy.“
“This review is for Arbor Midtown, the newest venue in the Arbor events spaces 'family'. We attended a corporate event there last night. We had contracted for a full bar attended by 3 bartenders, a buffet dinner using their recommended caterers, a DJ, using a recommended service, and charcuterie and desserts before and after dinner.Overall food was average (typical wedding buffet with carved prime rub (overdone), roasted chicken (bland), roasted potatoes (decent), green beans (almost raw they were so crunchy), vodka penne pasta (average) and a served dinner salad with a smear of dressing on the side); Bartenders (Tom, Adrian and 'Badger' (?)) were great - friendly, efficient; Venue itself is beautiful, but there are still some kinks:1. There are 4 bathrooms in the space - 2 in the bar and 2 in the back 'vault area' - they are heated (bonus!) but there were no hooks for purses/coats in any of the ones I used, and the door locks were flimsy - they either didn't lock, or you could unlock them by jiggling the handles, so all night people were walking in on each other2. The cavernous interior space was very cold and many of our guests were wearing winter coats over their dresses and complaining they needed to go sit in the bathrooms to warm up3. There were Christmas trees up throughout the space which was weird since we are 3 weeks into the new year...I will say however that the table settings were great and the fact that Arbor Midtown has all the tables, chairs, place settings, cutlery, centerpieces, etc. makes it easy to plan and the dining room was great.DJ was ok; we had provided a list of 'must have' songs prior, and although most were played, she kept mixing them so right as you'd get into a song it changed. Anyway, it's just hard to find a good DJ these days. All of the staff of Arbor Midtown were great during planning and helpful, but on the day of the event it was very challenging to get ahold of folks for questions, such as regarding the valet parking. (Note about that - guests could pull up in front of the venue and do the valet, but there was a confusing sign out front pointing folks to turn down Stone street for complimentary parking...this could be better...)I know Arbor Midtown has already had a bunch of weddings and events in the space, and winter time may be a slow time and tough time for events because heating that space must be exorbitant, but I'm sure they will get better over time.“
“Since the start of Covid19 we've been looking for ways to support local businesses. Found Sapori and figured we'd give it a shot. While our intention was to find a new place weekly...we've been guilty of repeatedly coming back here. We've ordered the meatball sandwich at least 5 times. We split it and get something new each time to split as well. Every time the food is fresh, delicious, and the customer service is incredible. Buy from this business. Support them.. if anyone deserves your business, it's Sapori. So good. So so good.“
“ORIENS!My children scream at the mention of this name! They are sold on their chocolate Oreo gelato. Not to mention they make great chili, perfect, warm and comforting on a cold Rochester afternoon. You can dine in here as well, and the service is always friendly and accommodating.“
