“I’ve loved Slices for years now. Typically go with the chicken parm sub - always enough for two meals! Tonight I tried the new PINWHEELS - I think this is a new invention of Isaac’s. Basically it’s a pizza dough roll with cheese and a pizza topping - I had one spinach pinwheel and one pepperoni. And each pinwheel comes with a generous side car of tomato sauce. The bottom of the pinwheel is really crispy - somewhat akin to a deep dish pizza. Hard to describe! Highly recommend. Chef’s kiss!“

“I ordered this on GrubHub but wanted to review here too.

I bought the combination boneless spare ribs that included pork fried rice and an eggroll, then I bought 4 piece fried chicken wings, and 2 more eggrolls.

Now I'm picky about Chinese restaurants so I haven't changed my location of my choice for years because the food can be off or bland for some.

However, I was out of city and came to Hastings and wanted some, so I took a chance and I'm glad I did because it doesnt taste too far off from the one I commonly go to. And the boneless spare ribs in my opinion are more delicious because it has more sauce.

Overral the food was good, had good taste, smell, so when I'm back in Hastings, I know where to go 😄

Total came to about $22.75, not including fees and my tip on Grubhub. But if you go in person it should be that price“

We never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed dining there. That means so much. The Thanksgiving menu had many delicious choices and the portions were perfect. We will return when in the area.“

“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

“Went to Choo Choo Train with five friends. Ordered Miso Salmon entree and it was delicious. Salmon was grilled perfectly, broccoli and carrots were cooked well and still crunchy, and mashed sweet potatoes were yummy. Cannot say enough about food and attentive service. Will return...no doubt!“

“The first pie I had from John at Fenice was the Detroit Red...which Tony picked up for me last week when i was at work...i finished the whole pie by just after midnight...but I had to go for the regular NY Cheese pie fresh from the oven. The sauce. The cheese. The dough for the Sicilian and the Detroit Red was light and perfectly crunchy on the bottom. Flavor out of this world. “I heard about this place on TikTok and was pleasantly surprised to find a vegan spot in the Bronx. When I arrived, a woman warmly greeted me and took her time explaining the menu. I ordered the jerk chicken and pepper steak with rice and peas, and the food was seasoned to perfection! “I went to a family friend’s 70th birthday party they hosted in the Atlantic ballroom. The space was modern and very clean. The food was DELICIOUS!!! And the workers, Yiselle, Estrellita, and Shorty (blonde) made the event so memorable! “We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. I say this as someone who has organized many events professionally over the decades. Donna Sullivan and Jean-Jacques are top notch.“
