“GREAT DELI, GREAT VIBES! We were going for breakfast, but couldn't resist the delicious smell of the hot homemade stews. We tried a plate with everything : flavor in every bite. The owner is an ex-server, and it shows : customer service is lovely. We'll be back tomorrow!”

Staff weren’t the friendliest and the back area to eat was dark and a little dingy.

“Great food. First time visiting and didn't disappoint. I had the truffle and mushroom and the four cheese risotto balls. Both were great. The Fig and Cheese sandwich was also delicious. Next i want to try the lasagna and the breakfast muffins.”

“I’ve loved Slices for years now. Typically go with the chicken parm sub - always enough for two meals! Tonight I tried the new PINWHEELS - I think this is a new invention of Isaac’s. Basically it’s a pizza dough roll with cheese and a pizza topping - I had one spinach pinwheel and one pepperoni. And each pinwheel comes with a generous side car of tomato sauce. The bottom of the pinwheel is really crispy - somewhat akin to a deep dish pizza. Hard to describe! Highly recommend. Chef’s kiss!”

“Haven’t had take out Chinese in so long and honestly New China was really good. Egg drop soup was spot on satisfying, crispy noodles were not stale, delicious Singapore noodles and shrimp chow mein. Food for several meals as portions are generous and reasonably priced. It’s more of a storefront than restaurant so not a place to go eat a meal but I’d order take out again without issue. Plenty of parking in the lot out back.”

“I have been going to this bagel shop for like four years now. It is the best bagel shop that I have found within a 6 mile radius. The ladies who work the front are so sweet and have incredible memories.

I am writing this review immediately after I had a peak Hastings Own Bagel experience. I walk into the store, she says: “Bad boy, scallion cream cheese, no toasted, iced coffee 2 sugars, black, large.” Needless to say I was out of there two minutes after entering.

In my probably 500 orders there has only ever been one mistake and it was when they had a new staff member and he confused me and someone else’s orders.

I talk about their bagels to people literally worldwide. They hold up incredibly well frozen and take like 3 days to get properly stale. The crumb is incredible, the crust is great. Literally what more could you ask for from a bagel shop.

Ok now on to the product more specifically and portions. I really think they have it down pat for the cream cheese to bagel ratio, there is never too much or two little, it’s a good serving and I feel like it is perfectly satiating. They have a great selection of bagels and have a pretty good spread variety. I personally go for the bad boy because everything is too far for me. They have a good griddle setup, whenever I get an egg and cheese or a BEC I find myself enjoying it, they could use a little more egg sometimes but I get it, trump’s America.

Anyways, this bagel shop may be my favorite store in the world thank you guys for dominating the Hastings bagel economy.”
