“I have been going to this bagel shop for like four years now. It is the best bagel shop that I have found within a 6 mile radius. The ladies who work the front are so sweet and have incredible memories.

I am writing this review immediately after I had a peak Hastings Own Bagel experience. I walk into the store, she says: “Bad boy, scallion cream cheese, no toasted, iced coffee 2 sugars, black, large.” Needless to say I was out of there two minutes after entering.

In my probably 500 orders there has only ever been one mistake and it was when they had a new staff member and he confused me and someone else’s orders.

I talk about their bagels to people literally worldwide. They hold up incredibly well frozen and take like 3 days to get properly stale. The crumb is incredible, the crust is great. Literally what more could you ask for from a bagel shop.

Ok now on to the product more specifically and portions. I really think they have it down pat for the cream cheese to bagel ratio, there is never too much or two little, it’s a good serving and I feel like it is perfectly satiating. They have a great selection of bagels and have a pretty good spread variety. I personally go for the bad boy because everything is too far for me. They have a good griddle setup, whenever I get an egg and cheese or a BEC I find myself enjoying it, they could use a little more egg sometimes but I get it, trump’s America.

Anyways, this bagel shop may be my favorite store in the world thank you guys for dominating the Hastings bagel economy.“

“Bagels are great. Customer service is great. Coffee is a hit and miss. Lots of spread options. Some pastry options like muffins. Bottled beverages also available. Small place, some limited bar height counter space available for eating in. Some outdoor counter height tables outside. Small shared parking lot in back. Street parking not usually an issue. Gets very busy on weekend mornings.“

“I deliver David’s bagels their Tropicana drinks and have to say they are the nicest people. Paula and Javier treat you so well and so does everyone else behind the counter. You can tell this is THE SPOT for a lot of people and it make sense. Their food also comes out piping hot and amazing I’ve gotten a TEC with hash browns it’s the best. Good vibes I highly recommend“

“First time trying this spot out. Picked up a dozed bagels for a teenage sports team. Ordered plain and everything bagels with cream cheese. While I waited, there was a consistent line of what seemed to be regulars popping in to get their usual orders. The staff were efficient and courteous and got my order ready pretty quickly. I ordered a mini plain cream cheese bagel for myself to try out. I ended up eating the bagel on the way to the game. The cream cheese had partly melted on the bagel, which was toasty and delicious. I'm gonna go back and try a breakfast sandwich soon. This is a very small store, not tables to sit at, good choice of cream cheeses. They also had some good tea options that I could see on the back wall behind the counter.“

“Mamaroneck location: the best bagel in the Westchester Sound Shore area since H&R closed in New Rochelle a couple of years ago - sorry New Ro, Eastchester, Larchmont, and Ryebrook, Brooklyn bagels in Mamaroneck makes a better bagel, their service is AA++, great location, and great atmosphere.“

“I was reading the reviews and I see there was some reviews that are not so good. Let me tell you it is a small shop. It’s not fancy, but they’re the best bagels around and they’re not the most expensive either. The ladies work very hard. you don’t know that they have to fulfill some very big orders in the morning which take a lot of work. It’s very hot in there from the oven so some days they’re just drained. They don’t have the energy almost to smile, but believe me, there’s such sweet ladies. Sometimes you have to give people a benefit of the doubt. It’s not an easy job believe me and now they take credit and cash and I go early in the morning and I have the hottest best bagels and the spreads and other things are very good. yes it might seem expensive but you’re paying for the service and the convenience. “I have been a long time customer, since the early 80’s. For the first time I had lunch at the Hot Bar and met the new executive chef Chris Smith while I was serving myself. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious and he was so friendly and helpful. Kudos to Stews for continually hiring outstanding employees and welcome to Chris.“

The scallion cream cheese had the perfect tang and herbal kick, complementing the lox beautifully. I also grabbed a cup of their Oreo pudding—rich, sweet, and creamy without being overly heavy. A nostalgic treat done right.

“This is our favorite place for bagels in Tenafly. We moved from NYC and missed our morning bagels and thought we’d never find a good replacement. Their bagels are soft enough but not doughy and their everything bagel has the perfect amount of seasoning. I like that this bagel has a little salt in the seasoning and a little onion bite. The owners learned our “usual” quickly and are super nice.“

“Perfect location with a municipal parking lot next to the cafe. GCBC bagels are as close to the bagels I grew up eating in Forest Hills. They are soft but slightly chewy. Perfect texture! When I go early in the morning after they've taken them out of the oven, I don't even ask them to toast it. Sometimes I have to wait in line because they're busy but that's a good sign. There are regulars who come every morning and read newspapers while having their bagels. It's a neighborly place with excellent bagels.“

The bagels are fresh, hot, and exactly what you want—perfect texture with that great chew. You can tell everything is made with care, and it shows in the overall quality.

“This is constructive criticism, but when one of those white girls makes my sandwich i immediately know that the sandwich is going to be mediocre. No matter how many times you tell them “TOAST THE BREAD” they don’t listen. Especially when it’s a hot sandwich, by the time you get home the sandwich morphs into mush & it’s a soggy mess. Very disappointing.“

“A nice place for all day eats. Had lunch and it was pretty good. The El Chapo and toro were amazing. A bit pricey but worth it. It gets really crowded though so best to order online. The location decent so not too hard to get to. Definitely would recommend. Look forward to trying their breakfast.“
