It's a nice, locally owned shop that gets the job done right. The bathrooms are also always sanitary and clean, which speaks volumes about how the entire place is operated. 5-stars all around. 👌“

“This neighborhood deli is packed with character and options. I ordered a classic lox and scallion cream cheese—fresh, briny, and generously portioned. The scallion cream cheese had the perfect tang and herbal kick, complementing the lox beautifully. I also grabbed a cup of their Oreo pudding—rich, sweet, and creamy without being overly heavy. A nostalgic treat done right.

“I have been a long time customer, since the early 80’s. For the first time I had lunch at the Hot Bar and met the new executive chef Chris Smith while I was serving myself. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious and he was so friendly and helpful. Kudos to Stews for continually hiring outstanding employees and welcome to Chris.“

“It’s a little corner bagel shop and this was superb at many directions.
I had just a quick breakfast and mine was a bagel with CC and another one with butter.
One for later obviously but with a coffee add up only to $8.
Bagels were how old school type was crispy and chewy.
Just a regular cup of coffee tasted so good much better than trendy chais like Starbucks.
Totally satisfied with the food and drink and services by the guys.

“This is our favorite place for bagels in Tenafly. We moved from NYC and missed our morning bagels and thought we’d never find a good replacement. Their bagels are soft enough but not doughy and their everything bagel has the perfect amount of seasoning. I like that this bagel has a little salt in the seasoning and a little onion bite. The owners learned our “usual” quickly and are super nice.“

Staff was friendly, the bagels were delicious, and the food was made to order very quickly. The reason you gave the atmosphere of four is because it was cold in there because their front is all windows and in the middle of the winter it’s hard to keep in insulated. “This is constructive criticism, but when one of those white girls makes my sandwich i immediately know that the sandwich is going to be mediocre. No matter how many times you tell them “TOAST THE BREAD” they don’t listen. Especially when it’s a hot sandwich, by the time you get home the sandwich morphs into mush & it’s a soggy mess. I rated atmosphere at five because it’s possible to speak with other locals at tables and chairs (5 tables and 15 chairs including a single table and chair next to a south facing window -great sun trap on a cold morning). My favourite is an everything bagel with cream cheese toasted and coffee.“

A couple of my friends do not eat meat and they were accommodated with fish dishes. The portions where plenty and Celia the owner accommodated us with Xtra salad, rice and beans.
