“I’ve loved Slices for years now. Typically go with the chicken parm sub - always enough for two meals! Tonight I tried the new PINWHEELS - I think this is a new invention of Isaac’s. Basically it’s a pizza dough roll with cheese and a pizza topping - I had one spinach pinwheel and one pepperoni. And each pinwheel comes with a generous side car of tomato sauce. The bottom of the pinwheel is really crispy - somewhat akin to a deep dish pizza. Hard to describe! Highly recommend. Chef’s kiss!“

“Haven’t had take out Chinese in so long and honestly New China was really good. Egg drop soup was spot on satisfying, crispy noodles were not stale, delicious Singapore noodles and shrimp chow mein. Food for several meals as portions are generous and reasonably priced. It’s more of a storefront than restaurant so not a place to go eat a meal but I’d order take out again without issue. Plenty of parking in the lot out back.“

It took forever to get menus (we had to ask eventually) and it was almost half hour before we got our drinks and placed our order. Even more odd, we never knew who our waiter was. Normally they introduce themselves but I felt like we ordered from two or three different people. The value and quality was great. The amount of food we got for the price was enough to feed more than our table of 5. This is good value spot for big families to get an affordable and quality dinner Overall, not a terrible experience and would try again. “I went to a family friend’s 70th birthday party they hosted in the Atlantic ballroom. The space was modern and very clean. The food was DELICIOUS!!! And the workers, Yiselle, Estrellita, and Shorty (blonde) made the event so memorable! They paid attention to every detail, whether it was filling our water cups, collecting unused plates and of course they did it all with a warm smile. They were kind, funny and very welcoming. “Me and Bae had some errands to run in the bronx and decided to get some food. He's been years back but it was my first time trying them. As soon as we walked in there was a line that was wrapped around the whole place. It's a Lil confusing but we found the back of the line and slowly but surely made our way to the front. We ordered two beef and chicken patties, two coco bread, one meatloaf(beef filled coco bread) and two carrot juice and a ting soda. They get u up outta there fast tho and it's only cash. When we were leaving the line was forming outside the store so just be patient. We couldn't wait to get to the car and tear into everything. The first one I grabbed was the beef and while it was good it wasn't as seasoned as I thought it would be. But the chicken I really enjoyed and it was a Lil spicy. I ate that with the coco bread. Bae put his whole beef patty in his coco bread and devoured it lol but even he admits the beef was better back in the day. All in all I Def will be back for that chicken patty and soft delicious coco bread. Oh and that carrot juice was delicious as well Def recommend grabbing one!“

The food is delicious, fresh, healthy and a great way to eat well without the fuss! They have lots of gluten free and vegan options, too. “I heard about this place recently on instagram. Amazing food! I came around 10am and they had two protein options and three sides, bok choy, cabbage, and okra. They have many more options but they just opened and were still putting more food out as I was leaving. I’m definitely coming back. Glad to see there’s options for us in the Bronx! “The first pie I had from John at Fenice was the Detroit Red...which Tony picked up for me last week when i was at work...i finished the whole pie by just after midnight...but I had to go for the regular NY Cheese pie fresh from the oven. We scored one of the two tables there and were able to decide which of the other slices to bring home...it was like a pizza candy store. We didn't finish our pie so brought home two slices, and I wanted to try John's sicilian, I couldn't leave there without a Detroit Red slice and Tony wanted the multi cheese white pizza...every pizza we tried was perfect! something about the dough. The sauce. The cheese. The dough for the Sicilian and the Detroit Red was light and perfectly crunchy on the bottom. Flavor out of this world. We drove from White Plains just to try Pizza Fenice. worth the trip.“

“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

Everything tasted super fresh, and you have to try the galbijjim and braised kimchi with pork bones 🥹 so good! The galbijjim is a bit spicy 🌶️ but it balances the richness perfectly :)

Going with friends and/or family who haven't been before, makes the experience even more enjoyable. Straight-away, newcomers are impressed as they review the eclectic menu. We tell them, honestly - we've never had anything on the menu that we didn't LOVE. It was not unusual that, on this week's visit, our party of six couldn't make menu selections 'cause everything sounded so good. No problem, we simply "ordered for the table"! Ready for this - we ordered: 2 orders of Pulled Pork Sliders, 2 orders of Brie Stuffed Pretzels, Asador Corn, Watermelon Salad, 2 orders of Smoked Ribs, Shrimp & Grits, and Chinese Chicken Salad. OH MY, what a Scrumptious Feast! Not a morsel was left over! When the friendly, attentive waiter suggested dessert, some said, "I can't eat another thing!", and "oh, maybe tomorrow". I suggested, perhaps some very delicious iced cappuccinos, or an outrageous dessert drink. Everyone ordered something. I then said to our party, I think we need some accompaniments. My wife and I got the waiter on the side, explained we had a Birthday Gal at the table, and ordered an assorted dessert board for the table. Moments later, the board was presented with a glowing birthday sparkler and a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday". Immediately, the signature Carrot Cake, Mexican Chocolate Covered Churros, Bourbon Glazed Donuts, Cheese Cake, and Vanilla Gelato began to be devoured. Nearby patrons could be heard saying, "We'll have what they're having!" It was another memorable, Great Time at Southern Table. Bravo to the Chef and Staff!“

“We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. I say this as someone who has organized many events professionally over the decades. Donna Sullivan and Jean-Jacques are top notch.“

“Sushi & Kimchi has become my new favorite comfy, cozy, and cute hideaway in Rockland for when I want the best tasting and authentic Korean and Japanese cuisine. Gina (owner) and Julie (waitress) are both absolutely lovely! Both Gina and the restaurant remind me of what I recall to have been the first Korean/Japanese sushi house in Bardonia, NY that I grew up up dining at in the early 2000’s and up until I moved out of state in 2008. Unfortunately, that location is no longer in business, but Sushi & Kimchi definitely gives all the nostalgic feels! The foos is always fresh and absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, the service is always on point, and you’re welcomed each time with a warm welcome from everyone! It’s a little hidden gem in a parking lot off of Route 59 in Nyack that winds down in the late afternoon and is calm in the evening. The perfect place to go for an overall relaxing experience that will have you leaving full after having enjoyed every last bite! I’ve also ordered through DoorDash and the presentation, temperature, taste and overall quality were all solid as well. Thoroughly impressed!
