“Over 10 years ago, my manager took the staff here for lunch. I had my first Gelato and it was amazing. Recently, in 2024, I took my family here. The food is still cooked with love. Also, as we went to pay the bill, a good patron paid for us to honor my dad's 22 years of serving our country. Thank you for honoring him. We appreciate it. It proved the atmosphere is king and loving.“

“I had my husband's 40th birthday at Shanahan's and everything was amazing. Deana was great to work with in terms of setting up the party and planning the menu. She was super helpful and answered all my questions throughout the process. The day of the party the space was set up and ready when I got there and Deana helped me put out the decorations and balloons before the guests arrived. Deana and her staff were friendly and attentive the entire time during the party. The food was delicious and plentiful for the party size. I would highly recommend having a party here. It was such a great evening and everyone enjoyed themselves.“

“Went to Katie's of Smithtown about a month or so ago to see my cousins boyfriends band. The place is really tiny, and the stage took up a good chunk of the room. They had Guinness and maybe one other beer I recognized but other than that there were newer beers. At least new to me. The service was good. Even though it was crowded with for the band, the bartenders got my beer out in just a few minutes. The bathrooms were at the other side of the stage, and the woman's bathroom was tucked back almost behind the stage, which was a bit annoying to get to“

The owner has been in the bar - restaurant business for over 50 years in this area. Down the block from Long Island Railroad.“

If you've been there a couple of times, she may even remember which wine you ordered last visit. I’ve been a regular patron of Goldy’s for since their rebirth; however, recently I inquired about their party services. The process was simple. Even doing homework, price-wise they were competitive with the going rate per person.The staff was tremendous in making the event a hit! They were accommodating, attentive - overall made the experience a pleasure! Again, I would highly recommend and will continue to frequent Goldy’s as a regular patron!“

“I came here with one of my church friends and one of my guy friends that I've been friends with for about 14 years now. I don't drink alcohol but my one friend loves breweries so I go with him to visit them sometimes. I love most of the breweries I go to.They didn't have a non alcoholic beer for me to try but they made me a mocktail which was pretty good. My church friend had wine and my other friend was the one who got the beers. The service was as attentive as it could be for a crowded Saturday night, it was still good.The place is small, but it has more of a classier, upscalish decor than other breweries I've gone to.They didn't serve food just chips but they allowed you to order food from nearby restaurants and delis and have them bought in which is nice. I wish breweries served more food but I'm learning they don't really serve much food. Some of them have food trucks nearby.I liked this brewery and had a good time there.“

“Last night my fiancé and I had our rehearsal dinner at the Victorian Room. From start to finish, Gina the owner was absolutely amazing ! The room is so beautifully decorated and cozy . The food was phenomenal , tasted like a home cooked meal ! The service was impeccable and professional from not only herself but her staff as well. “Came in for an open jam session, first time here. Haven’t been here in years. This place has changed so much for the better! Comfortable, almost homey vibe. Great fresh tasting food, and drinks. Amazing service as well. We were always checked on by staff. They have a cocktail menu too. Just wish they had a larger variety of wine, but spoke with maybe the manager/owner and he said he will be adding that as he is finishing renovations. Will definitely be back!“

The beach view is beautiful and the set up for the band outside looked really nice m- but we were leaving then. The bathrooms were also filthy. The bartender made me a nice drink, good amount of alcohol and around 10 bucks.But come ON guys. You have so much potential for that place.Overall I would return because of the view and the staff were nice.“

“Intrigued by the signs in the windows exclaiming the benefits of kava, my friend and I strolled into the wonderful world of this non alcoholic bar. Being virgins to this root, we asked for guidance on what to order. This kava is supposed to have the relaxing, mellowing effects of say, Marijuana or even alcohol, but without the detriments that come with those. The young lady suggested a cold kava drink in a coconut cold mug with a slice of pineapple. There's a single, double or triple. She said it's suggested to start high and get the product built up in your system, then go down to single whilst in maintenence mode. We went with the double. We watched her spoon a large spoonful of what looked like, as another patron said, dirty water into our coconut cups! And garnished this dirty water with a pineapple. Bon Appétit! Well I have to say upon the first sip, I was waiting to be repulsed, but it actually didn't have much of a taste. As I got closer to the bottom of the cup, however, I got more flavor.. it was definitely a muddy, earthy flavor. I loved it I have to say. My friend was not a fan. Ha! I guess it's an acquired taste. The atmosphere was very chill. Seems an eclectic crowd. Young, old, parents, singles, white and.. well (us two) black! It was a cool decor. They have board games you can play. My business holds its network meeting their the 3rd Thursday of every month and what he does to give back to the community is amazing. One if the greatest guys you'll ever meet! “Obsessed with updating my reviews lately, so here's another one for you. The Local has my heart and it's been a go to place to take friends and family when their in the area and back on LI. As my friend who I lunched with on Saturday said "it has a Queensy vibe" which it totally does, only you will see by the interior decor, it's proud to be on LI and I'm so happy by that. Custom subway signs referring to LI spots is what provides the decor for this place along with chalkboards showcasing the beer list. These days, when I want a beer, I don't look at the list anymore. I tell the staff what I like (usually something on the citrusy side) and I go with it. This is exactly what I did and our server did not steer us wrong. Do I know what beer I had, no...But was she spot on in her recommendation? Yes, she was! Food menu is always changing here, another thing I love, so that Cuban stuffed pretzel was a pleasant surprise when I saw it featured. We jumped at that. As you know I'm a sucker for a special and a French dip was on their special menu. I went for it and never looked back. The meat was so flavorful and the ratio of meat to cheese was perfect. The bread had the right amount of crunch and I hit it with the Old Bay fries and it's the perfect meal. Their sauces are great too, ask for roasted garlic ourthe chipotle aioli on the side. They pair amazing with any of their fries. This place really does get better each time I go. I always opt for a sandwich/burger but I'm sure anything on this menu is dynamite. Brunch is solid too.“
