“Margie’s is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor of the Rockaway Hotel. It’s very nostalgic to locals as it was built where the Rockaway staple known as Gallagher, Snug Harbor and Daltons once stood before the beautiful hotel was built. Margie’s serves up some great food including an excellent variety of prime steak cuts. Their cocktails are excellent and one must taste their staple Irish Coffee which is fantastic. Margie’s and the entire Rockaway Hotel have always been an amazing experience.“

“Excellent food. Excellent service. Brought friends who had never been before and they loved it. The fried calamari appetizer is so different with the olives and it works! Had an 8:00 reservation and it was perfect. Table right away, not packed therefore not noisy. Highly recommend.“

It's a really nice family-owned restaurant in the area. Would be a decent date spot, especially because of the outdoor seating... call ahead and see if you can bring a board game.

Regarding the food:

Grilled Spanish Octopus: Highly recommended. The potato pave is delicious, and the octopus is tender with a perfect charred exterior.

Short Rib with Bone Marrow: The meat is very tender and falls apart at the touch of a fork, though I wish the portion of bone marrow was a bit larger.

King Salmon: Quite tender.

Burrata Cheese: Standard/average.

Caramel Flan: Delicious and beautifully presented.

Overall, it is a great spot for a nice dinner.“

“Got a new place for over rice items or gyro items. One word..Delicious. Food was really good. I always have the mix over rice. Also the gyro was very good. Food taste and quantity is really good and enough for a person. Food Cart. So either take away or eat inside your car. Updated prices and menu added.“

“I have been a customer of Austin’s Ale House for many years, I know them well they know me well. This year I decided to give the excellent and highly favored family cooking team a break and had Austin’s Ale House cater our Christmas Dinner. I went with the ham dinner for 10 to feed 7 people🤣. The ordering was done with ease and so was the pick up. The family did a preliminary tasting...... LOVED .IT and whatever we have left after the “taste test” will have to serve as our Christmas Dinner. Since the taste test was so aggressive we may need to supplement what’s left with a few cheese omelets 🤣. We enjoyed it so much there was much talk about it becoming the new family tradition. “My family and I went to Veranda restaurant in Bayside yesterday for. Birthday dinner. The restaurant is well located, with street parking and valet service as well. There’s an outdoor patio, that for obvious reason we couldn’t use. The temperatures in NY have been in the single digits lately. The food and the service were on another level! Gregory was very attentive, welcoming and friendly. The food was finger liking good! I had the pan seared scallops with spinach risotto and OMG. I can’t wait to go back. Everyone was pleased with the their food choices and I highly recommend this place, unfortunately I didn’t take pics of everyone’s food. Only if mine, I hope you find this review useful.
