“The food and atmosphere were great, but our server was not attentive. She seemed annoyed and frazzled, and it wasn't busy. Then we went to bar to get drinks and glasses because we waited so long, and the bartender was rude also! Bad service!! Except for the service, I would of given 5 stars.“
“When I'm in Buffalo or Rochester and go looking for wings, this is the kind of place that hits the mark! I took some coworkers here for dinner and everyone enjoyed! We were there for wings, but also shared the pizza rolls, cheese curds, and beef on weck. Order extra and save for tomorrow's lunch! And anyone who's not from the area...ranch is for salads and blue cheese is for wing dipping...:>)“
“Overall, food is pretty good. I always get the chicken pot pie...it could use more gravy and chicken cut into smaller pieces. French onion soup is great! They took off the pork chop which hubby really liked, so now he gets ribs or something else. We usually go a couple times a year.“
“Is it strange that my favorite restaurant is in a gas station? Charlie the butchers, located within the Marathon gas station on Main Street in East Aurora is spectacular. Not only do they have what you would expect, delicious roast beef on weck, they have delicious sides and daily specials like baked ham, meatloaf, corned beef, and prime rib. The service is fast and friendly - and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. It's just lovely.“
“My husband and I had the best dinner ever at the Dog Bar on New Year’s Eve. I had surf and turf and he had the sea bass. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service couldn’t have been better! What a wonderful way to welcome in the New Year! We will definitely be having dinner there again soon!“
“It was very enjoyable! I love old restaurants that make you take a step back in time! Fun seeing photos they have displayed from long ago. We went for Taco Tuesday and tried the deep fried tacos. They happily customized the contents to our preference and the tacos were so good! Crunchy outside coating and not greasy (which I was assuming they would be)! Prices were really reasonable , too! It was a nice drive to Colden and a perfect little "date night"! The staff were super friendly and helpful, too! It was our first time there, and will not be our last!“
“Have enjoyed everything I've ever ordered, and at reasonable prices.. the service is sometimes a bit slow, since there is usually one server, who is also the bartender .. still worth it ..Parking: Probably can squeeze in about 15 cars, motorcycle parking in front“
“This place has beloved memories for me back when it was Ron's. The beef on weck and wings were excellent. The day we stopped they had a large crowd show up. The staff was busy but we got our food in good time.Food was excellent staff was great. This place will not disappoint.“
“Wow. My coworker knew about my love of French onion soup and insisted I make the trek from the north towns to this place. I can say, there wasn’t much reason for our family to travel to East Aurora after one of fav kids museums moved, but now I have a reason to make the haul! We stopped by here after taking our kid’s to a gym in the area and I’m glad we did. I’d say that this might be my favorite French onion soup on the basis of the rich flavors alone. My wife and I went back and forth comparing it to our number one. I felt this is a little less cheesy than my typical favorite (or maybe it was slightly more cooked than I’m used to) but the flavor of the broth and ingredients are the best. We weren’t ready for dinner so we just ordered the soups and got fries for the kids. My daughter was raving about the fries and the service. She kept saying “we have to come back.” I agree!“
“Cool place to go. They have a bowling alley, an old school Bowling alley. Also the food was pretty good and the staff working there were super friendly. I have never been there at night nor during the summer for their outdoor events, but I would like to experience that someday. It looks like it would be a good time.“
“I would say a decent greasy spoon for breakfast. Very fast service, food was good but my only issue was that there is a life size cardboard cutout of Donald Trump staring at you while eating. First, there is enough politicking everywhere so please let me eat in peace & second, it is very creepy!!!! I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote but leave your politics at home. I will visit again & have to sit with my back to it, lol.“
“Good ol' neighborhood bar, nice owners, helped their son with his homework then shot pool with my girl and had a couple beers. Haven't been in that neighborhood in a while, but they used to serve a huge piece of fish during Friday fish fry!“
“The Scarlet Vetter says......this place has a spacious facility that features a 3-sided eating counter, two rooms with large and small tables, toasty woodstoves, and a local eatery vibe. Decent diner type options. The portions are very generous. I had a three egg american cheese omelet with onions, jalapeños, spinach, and mushrooms with Rye toast and link sausage. The sausage link serving is three links. The Rye toast was excellent, and the omelet was quite good. The omelet selections come with home fries, with or without onions. I also ordered grapefruit juice and coffee. I declined the potatoes given my desire for toast. The service was prompt and friendly. The facility has a homey feel, and it was just the right amount of busy on a weekday at 9 am. I easily found a nice table selection near a gas woodstove and enjoyed my meal. I was waiting on my dog being groomed close to the restaurant and asked if I could stay and do some work, and they were happy to accommodate me. With tip, my meal was $32.“
“I have made it to order Cubans wherever I go, it's one of my favorite sandwiches. The Cuban Melt at Rookies today was among the best I've ever had. If not the best, a close 2nd. I wasn't even planning on stopping this afternoon for food, but as we were walking by decided to stop in. So glad we did. The server was great. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area!“
“Lovely winter day with 60 degree temperatures today and a tax prep appointment behind us. Perfect timing for a lunch at the Iron Kettle! More and more, the Iron Kettle has become our first choice for casual dining. Today was more of the same! Looking beyond the now-familiar breakfast menu to the intriguing lunch menu, I ordered the Breakfast Burger. My sandwich consisted of a black angus burger topped with a fried egg and hollandaise sauce on a grilled Costanzo's bun. The plate included perfectly prepared French fries and dill pickles. I'm sure I will be ordering this again as it was phenomenal in taste and value for the money! My husband ordered the Rachel sandwich which was turkey breast, 1000 dressing, and coleslaw on grilled rye bread with a side of savory zucchini. He raved about this meal on our trip home. The granddaughter had a lovely looking spinach feta omelette with toast and home fries. All perfectly prepared! Another satisfying meal at this locally owned restaurant. I can now say that we've not been disappointed with any of our meals here.“
“Food was absolutely amazing. The mashed potatoes are great. The portion size was impressive. Comfortable setting and nice waiter we had. He was very friendly and professional. We went on 3/16/24. First time there and can't wait to go back. I got the pork chop on the bone. It was amazing.“
“It is very clear everything there is FRESH MADE! There were 10 of us and everyone was happy. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger that was clearly hand made patty. The wife had chicken wing soup and we hadn't anything that good since in years!!Where else can you get good big breakfast for dinner???“
