“This is one of my favorite breakfast spots! Food ranges from good to exceptional, but their pastries can be hit or miss. Drinks are consistently good in my opinion, my girlfriend is not a fan of their iced coffee which she thinks can be inconsistent. What keeps us coming back is the famous egg sandwich which is pickled to perfection and oh so yum! I don’t think they have enough tables and maybe would benefit from eliminating one or two of the benches to add 2-3 more tables…like a typical coffee house a lot of people seem to work from there and can linger for hours. Service is great. Parking can be tricky when it’s busy, there is a shared lot but it can fill up quickly.“

“My husband and I got our gender reveal cakes made here and we were absolutely blown away! From our initial encounter, the girls at the shop were so friendly, accommodating, and excited to help. We explained what we had in mind, a vintage style heart shaped cake with the middle filling being pink or blue to reveal what our baby would be. They COMPLETELY nailed the cake & it was not only beautiful but it was so delicious. We also requested a second cake, their signature tarte style, but in a heart shape decorated either pink or blue to share with our family once the reveal was over. The tarte cake literally made me cry that’s how beautiful it was and the macaroons were out of this world! 10/10 recommend thecookieshop for any of your special occasion bakery needs!“

“Adorable little breakfast spot! We got there just before the Saturday rush and were able to sit right away with no wait. Everything about the place is sweet, the decor and the staff. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. We did wait about half hour for our food but we didn't mind. I had the breakfast sandwich which was delicious! Only issue was the biscuit was a bit burnt but it still tasted good! Everyone else at the table was also happy with their food. We will definitely be back!“

She has such great flavors and fillings to choose from. It was a joy not to be offered the typical Italian cream cake. We sent a photo, chose the lemon cake with her signature filling, strawberry champagne, and it was perfect. I picked up the cake Friday at 12. Drove it to Jersey, it was packed perfect, and served it Saturday at 2. It was so moist and delicious. You could taste the actual strawberries. “I love this place. It's such a delight each time I come here. The bakery items are delicious and I love the torta mista any time of the day (make sure to ask for it on the Portuguese bread). I also recommend the chorizo bread if you want something very savory. And you can't go wrong with their Pasteis de nata. When I bring a mix of their baked goods to the office people go nuts for it. Had their breakfast bagel with eggs and bacon and it was absolutely delicious. Eggs were fluffy and the bacon was perfectly cooked. The people there are wonderful. In particular there was an older gentleman there (can't remember his name), who was so genuinely kind to me and my daughter and also very funny. “Took a tour of Port Jefferson yesterday, May 2. My first stop was this quaint little bakery. The cases were lined with a selection of colorful and enticing pastries of all kinds. I had my heart set on an apple pie since before I came in though. I was astonished to be given the most beautiful, massive fresh apple pie I had ever seen. This 9 inch pie had real weight to it; my arm was getting tired carrying it back to my car. When I got home and cut into it, I could see all the individual slices of apples, very large ones at that. It was the best apple pie I’ve ever had. I had stopped by Port Jeff last week as well and the owner had a collection of cute soaps in her shop as well as many other interesting gifts. That time I got a small chocolate cake type pastry. It was also truly delicious. Will be back for sure.“

You will have some customers that will always leave negative reviews even though nothing was done wrong on the owners part. You actually have to take the negative reviews and let them go and actually see where they are coming from. The eggs were cooked perfectly and we hopped for more onions but it was still great.My son ordered a Nutella crepe. Out of all the crepe places we've gone to he said this one wasn't his favorite.Vikki ordered a "bebe"it's a Portuguese role with ham and cheese on it. They butter the roles and it was really good.We ordered "galão" . It's a Portuguese latte for a American pallet. It was so good.... And wasn't bitter at all.“

“We have patrons Fritsches Bakery since the mid-50’s ( Not counting the time they were closed ) and always enjoyed their deserts. My husband and I went on Sunday (4-24-24) to purchase assorted cookies for a family gathering. The cookies were fresh, moist and absolutely delicious and the lady that waited on us was friendly and happy to help us.Today (4-18-24) my hubby and I stopped by to give ourselves a treat for breakfast, he wanted rolls and I wanted Tea-Biscuits. There were no other customers inside the bakery and I quickly ordered the 2 Tea Biscuits I wanted, I like them very light in color and the woman behind the counter grabbed one then picked out one that was her choice not mine, I said I didn’t want that one but she never offered to replace the biscuit with the one I wanted. My husband ordered his rolls and he too likes them light in color, he only wanted 3 and as he is trying to pick the ones he wanted she would grab one and place it in the bag before he could even tell her which one he wanted. When he said he wanted the lighter roll she very rudely said, “ You have to tell me that before I take them” then she rolled her eyes in annoyance. This might seem a silly issue to complain about but as Seniors and people who treat any and all employees with respect and kindness I just found it so rude of her to act that way and since the Bakery was empty and there was no need to rush us out or at least be pleasant if she needed to do something else. It costs nothing to be nice to your customers or at least if we were being to “picky” she shouldn’t have rolled her eyes at my husband. Thanks for listening.“
